Picking architects is a hard problem. They all seem to be very eager to spend other peoples money for their pet ideas or theories of the world or design. PRA recognizes and understands this problem and temptation. One of the very few firms that actually has a true sense of duty to the client beyond just marketing fluff. Any firm can whip up some generic bromides about servant mindset or putting the client first or featuring design awards, but to really do it and to fight both internally and externally to make the duty to the client paramount, this is unusual. One way they show this is in their healthcare design practice where they are wrestling with the problems of evidence-based design beyond soundbites and puffery (or even worse, as excuses once again for fatuous form or design preferences at the expense of the patients and owners). -
