    We had the pleasure of working with Sara Crum and Bobby Jackson throughout the building process of our new home. From the start, Sara was incredibly informative and easy to get in touch with. She communicated with us daily and was very helpful getting the process started and helping us narrow down all the details/designs! We had Bobby as our project manager and he was great to work with. He made sure everything moved smoothly and in a timely manner. He met all required deadlines and made sure to answer any questions or concerns we had throughout the build. We appreciate both of them and all the others behind the scenes who helped make our DREAM HOUSE a reality!

    Our home was just completed at the end of January 2023. We had the BEST experience with RCI from start to end. Our realtor, Keith Harding, was so helpful from the beginning. Communication was great and he really helped us narrow down exactly what we were looking for in our new construction home. He was straightforward, thorough, and clear with communication which we appreciated!! Once the home building process began, our project manager, Bobby Jackson, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! He kept us up to date with the entire process and was very easy to communicate with! The whole process was quick and easy. We loved how everything was laid out for us on a chart so we could keep up with what was happening and what was to come! I would highly recommend RCI Builders!

    I began my house hunting process in August 2021. I looked at several homes in the Richmond, Goochland and Ashland areas. The craftsmanship of the RCI builders stood out. Once I locked into a contract for my home/property, things went quickly. My design appointment with Ashley was fantastic and the PM, Josh, has been so accommodating and responsive. Any issues I’ve had, have been dealt with quickly. Josh even connected me with a contractor, Brian, to do some upgrades I wanted. I’ve had periodic inspections and am coming up on my annual inspection next month. I know that will also go off without any issues. I would absolutely recommend RCI to anyone moving to this area or looking to build a custom home.

    Love everything about my new home at Luck Farm. It’s my dream house! I’ve been here four months, and so far, so good.Top quality craftsmanship, finished on schedule, and sparkling clean when I walked in on day one.They allowed a few custom modifications too, that I’m super happy with.Project Manager Josh Kegel has been terrific to work with, very responsive and detail oriented.(He earned extra stars too, for helping me dispense with that spider…haha)Thanks, RCI Builders!

    We used RCI Builders to build our dream home. Our Project Manager, Troy Szalay, was wonderful!! He was very responsive, addressed all questions and concerns we had throughout the process, and always made sure we were well-informed of the progress. We love our home design, the Wilton model, and couldnt have asked for a better Project Manager to oversee the build! Thank you, Troy!!

    We drew out a design for a unique house we wanted, but due to budget we had to make some changes, and RCI helped us with the redesign. We were blessed with a wonderful Realtor, Keith Harding, who introduced us to our amazing builder Troy Szalay. Troy answered all our calls and texts quickly, and he called us with updates every week. He and his team did an amazing job. Ashley Cahoon was awesome in assisting us with design choices.The main complaint we have is the air conditioner units were placed right outside a bedroom window blocking view of our property which is why we moved here, and which we were told they would center away from the windows. Once we saw what they were doing we asked to have them moved but no response and that was not changed. Also wish windows opened at top also.RCI did use top quality products and they say they stand by their work. We believe and hope they will. Roger Shepherd has already come by and it hasnt even been a month. Overall things turned out better than we imagined and it is beautiful! There were other issues too, but compared to other builders We believe they do good work. We would recommend all of the above mentioned.

    RCI built our home in Summer Duck Farms. Everyone on the RCI Team was wonderful to work with. From Katie Newell in design services, whose talent and guidance helped me pull all my design choices together to Project Manager Dan Luniewski, every one was terrific. Our thanks for building our beautiful home also go to Assistant Project managers Roger Sheppard and Josh Kegel. Tim Richardson was also a pleasure to work with and helped make our pre and post closing walk throughs seamless. My husband and I highly recommend this entire team.

    RC-I Builders has been a blessing for us. We recently moved cross country from Arizona to Virginia, and have experienced tremendous assistance from this firm and more specifically, from Matt Rutledge as our agent. We first encountered Matt at an RC-I model home in Ashland Park, and from there were very well accommodated and guided to the home we chose to build. Initially we considered renting to first get the lay of the land, and then further considered purchasing an existing home, but after continued discussion, and viewing additional RC-I model homes we realized we could build exactly what we wanted brand new!Every interaction has been handled professionally, courteously, and timely....even to the extent of what can now be best described as fun. This firm is big enough to offer numerous options, and small enough to care for you as an individual, not just a transaction. Highly recommended!

    We had such an amazing experience working with RCI builders for our new home. We absolutely love the finished product and quality! The staff is fantastic from start to finish! Our agent was phenomenal at keeping the mortgage process moving as it should.     We recently purchased a new home from RCI and closed earlier this year. Josh Kegel was our construction project manager and he was fantastic! We weren’t able to relocate to Virginia until our house was finished, so we were 1,300 miles away for most of our construction process. He kept us updated, always made himself available, addressed our questions, had great ideas and got things done. Josh is extremely personable and the kind of guy that values relationships. He’s been incredibly helpful and we truly appreciate the positive experience of building our beautiful new home with him!!!

    We have been completely satisfied with RCI and the new home they are building for us. The design and contract process was organized and professional. The process of selecting interior and exterior features was easy and we had excellent guidance from Katie of the RCI design team. The construction process has been smooth and on schedule. Our project manager, Brian Click, has been excellent. He communicates with us each week and keeps us informed of progress. Brian led our electrical walkthrough and it was extremely thorough. We discussed every light, every switch, and every power outlet in every room to make sure the house would be set up the way we wanted. Brian has resolved issues and answered questions quickly, and he has consistently been on top of every detail. Our house is beautiful and we’re looking forward to closing next week.

    We purchased a spec house from RCI and it has been the best decision we have ever made. They spared no expense on the upgrades and we could not be happier. We were paired up with Josh as our project manager and he has gone above and beyond with his services. He introduced himself early in the buying process and at our two week walk through had already gone through the entire house and marked off all the things that needed attention and he did a better job than we ever could of! We would definitely build again with RCI and Josh!

    My husband and I was new to the area and decided to build our first new home, we both feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten lucky enough to meet Matt Rutledge with RCI! Matt led us to an unfinished model home in the area and my husband and I both knew that was the home for us! We had no idea what to expect and had lots of questions along the way. Troy Szalay was assigned to be our project manager and we couldnt have been in better hands, he was very patient and responsive to all our questions and needs.     We chose RCI to build our forever home, the Lynn model, in the Fall of 2021. Most definitely not the easiest time to build a new home, amidst supply chain issues, laborer shortages, etc. But our Project Manager, Josh Kegel was right by our side, every step of the way. We received weekly updates, always received timely replies when we had questions, and in the end, we were told by our independent home inspector that our home was one of the cleanest new builds he had ever seen. While the process of building a new home is stressful, Josh always took the time to communicate and keep us in the loop, which in turn took much of the stress out of the equation. If you are searching for a high quality new build, RCI is your builder! And if you are fortunate enough to have Josh as your PM, you can rest assured that youre in wonderful hands.

From our first encounter with Katelyn Gwaltney at the model home, through construction with our project manager, Troy Szalay, to service with Ben Fritter, the process has been efficient!     I will add another review of our overall experience in the near future, but for now we wanted to acknowledge our appreciation for our customer Service manager Jeff Drinkwater, who conducted our one year (+) inspection and follow-up work. We could not have asked for a better, detail-oriented, and customer responsive rep than Jeff.We figured the one -year would be longer for inspecting and completing necessary work. Jeff was always honest with us, and was good with expectation management (as per timeline). Jeff made any wait for service well worth it in his attention to detail during the inspection and ensuring any and all deficiencies were brought up to and beyond expectation. He found deficiencies we missed or were unaware of, and was responsive to other items in addition to those found in the original inspection.Jeff is a primary reason for turning the process of building a new home into a very satisfactory experience. RCI should give him a raise! He is gold. Thanks Jeff.

    We built our home with RCI in Hickory Hill nearly 1 year ago. I am giving a rating of 5 for one main reason, and that reason is for our Project Manager, Troy.As with any new build there are certainly things that do not go perfect. Or do not turn out the way you hoped or thought it would.But every single step of the way Troy was right there as our advocate making sure things were as close to perfect as possible.Even in one instance when we experienced a large problem well after closing, Troy took our call and played the role of advocate once again until it was resolved.We absolutely love our home. RCI is beyond blessed to have Troy.

    RCI is currently building a house for my wife and I that is nearing completion. We have been working with Sara Crum as our sales representative and Brick Click as our project manager along the way. Sara has been our advocate from day one, has always been very responsive, and has worked very hard to accomplish our objectives along the way. Since we have broken ground, I have worked closely with Brian and we have been extremely impressed with him. As an attorney that practices in the area of construction law, I had very high expectations for the build process. I can say with without a doubt, that Brian has met or exceeded those expectations at every step of the way. In spending 5 minutes with Brian, it is obvious that he takes great pride in what he does and his work product is a testament to that fact.

    Built My House , They stood behind everything they said they would do, and exceed expectations. Project Manager Andy is the greatest, Hope you get him when you work with them. But everyone you work with at RCI is a stand up person. Had some issues with Selling Relator, but RCI made it right. I had Heart Surgery during the build, and they made special trips out to job site, when it was good for me , took special care of my wife when they knew I was unavailable . Would recommend them to anyone needing a home.

    We closed on our new home on November 17, 2017, and have reached the end of the 1 year home warranty period. I waited until the year was up to post my review because I firmly believe service after the sale is important.Now that we have been in the house for a full year I can honestly say R-CI built an awesome home for us.Their Build On Your Lot program was perfect for us. Our project manager, Ray, did a great job with his oversite. The sub contractors did a very good job. Tim, their warranty person, is great and even responded to an HVAC issue on a Saturday morning. The ladies in the design center helped us design The perfect home for our lifestyle.Patrick, one of the owners of R-CI, walked the lot with us before we closed on the property, and helped us place our home perfectly on our 6 acre lot. Todd, the other owner we dealt with, helped us design the perfect home and even called a few days after we moved in to make sure everything was completed as we expected.All in all a great experience and we have recommended R-CI to friends who are looking to build as well.Based on our experience we feel confident we made the right decision.

    We purchased our home through RC-I Builders in late 2019. My wife’s favorite part was working with Katie Newell in their design center. Katie mapped out all the colors of our house during our appointment and allowed my wife “see it” before we actually put it all together in our home. Katie has great taste, was attentive to our questions, and was excellent to work with. Our project manager Sonny Heath was also awesome. Sonny kept us informed every step of the way during the build process and delivered an excellent product.

Every RCI home I’ve toured has been incredibly appealing, ESPECIALLY the Homerama one in Hickory Hill!! Everything was beautiful and well thought out, but that master bathroom had me DROOLING! We are very pleased with the quality construction, and we very much appreciated the process with our realtor Cathy Mueller, the knowledgeable and very helpful design process with Katie Newell, and project manager Dan Luniewski’s assistance with questions and concerns along the way. Josh Kegel continues to be a reliable contact after we took ownership. Our most outstanding concern is the need for the developer to improve and correct the poorly designed and prepared drainage storm water ditch between our home and the street.

    My wife and I had a home built by R-CI Builders in Ashland Park and we absolutely love the house and the neighborhood! We looked at several of their model homes and eventually chose R-CI as our builder because, while all of the houses were beautiful, we both kept commenting about how substantial the structures seemed. Each house we looked at felt strong and solid. Today we’ve lived in our new home for 3 months and it is everything we could have hoped for and more! R-CI took good care of us during the build and after. Ashley (Designer) at the selection center was helpful and patient with us and took lots of time to make sure we got everything exactly the way we wanted. Sonny (Project Manager) was in contact during the entire build and went way out of his way to make sure we loved our new home! As with any new construction, there were a few hiccups towards the end of construction and the first few days in the house; however, Alicia (Customer Service Manager) has been right there to fix those few problems as fast as possible.     We moved into our RCI built home just over a year ago. Construction took place during what I would say was the peak of Covid related supply chain issues so the build took far longer than anticipated, to no ones fault. While there were definitely some challenges and hiccups during the build, the primary reasons Im still giving RCI a five star review is due to the VERY positive experience we had with our Hometown/RCI realtor, Sara Crum, and the tremendous service, attention and diligence of RCIs service department (particularly Ben Fritter) after the close of our house.Over the last year, Ben has done a phenomenal job of addressing any issue or concern that we have flagged to him in a timely and efficient manner. He has gone above and beyond to process our feedback and schedule the appropriate follow ups with vendors.He has always maintained great communication to keep us updated on status of any outstanding item.Again, this would not have been a five star review without Ben and the service team so huge kudos to them.

    This is our second house we have had RCI Builders construct for us in the past seven years and we had dealt with Troy Szalay during the first house build as he was in the service department performing the 45 day and 1 year inspections. We learned from Kaitlyn Gwaltney (RCI Builders site agent for Hickory Hill) that Troy was going to be our Project Manager and would be leading the construction of our new house. Kaitlyn provided excellent guidance through the contract process and the structural design of the house. Then once Kaitlyn passed us on to Troy we would receive a weekly text update on the construction process. He would always answer any questions we had on the build. We are happy and glad RCI Builders constructed our house and they can do the same for you.Mr. Vick

    Expedient service and great communication throughout our home build with Troy. We are very happy with our new home. We also had our first post-closing walk through and the service team was great for the few minor touch ups needed. Ben coordinated the repairs and followed up after completion to make sure we were satisfied. Very happy with the service were still receiving even after closing!

    We were looking to build a new home and after researching local builders, we decided to use RCI. Boy we are glad we did!! Their designer, Katie Newell, was an absolute joy to work with. Her bubbly personality combined with her knowledge of the products as well as her eye for design made the process of choosing our colors and accessories much easier than I thought it would be. From day 1 of the building process, their PM, Troy Szalay, kept us in the loop on everything that was going on. I got weekly updates from him every Friday of what they had done that week as well as the upcoming work for the next week. Any time I had a concern, he addressed it immediately and got back to me with the corrections, if necessary. RCI provides a quality product and we LOVE our new home!!

I can say without reservation R-CI builds a very good house. They go beyond code on numerous items, sub flooring, deflection rate, and insulation R factor to name a few.     We used RCI to build our forever home, from the beginning our sales agent was nothing but spot on and I could reference her for any and everything that had popped up. She even answered some questions and handled what I didn’t feel like was her job to do with out any hesitation. Once we got to the starting point my Project manager answered all and went over everything thorough. He had hit everything on the head with no major hiccups at all.     Everyone talks about how terrible building a house is, or so they say. I found that to be all wrong with RCI!! Our experience was fantastic! From start to finish. Started with Sarah helping us as we picked out our floor plan. To us changing things back and forth.Then to the design center, where everything was thorough and gave lots of options to choose from. I loved how everything was in one place and I did not have to travel from store to store to pick things out. To the actually building processes where Josh our project manger took over and was there every step of the way. He answered all questions we had fast and if something wasnt right made sure that it was fixed! We broke ground the week of Easter and closed with keys in hand the first week of September!     The maintenance staff is wonderful. Troy and Todd have been so responsive. I have very few issues with my new home. Every time Ive had an issue I get an immediate response. I will be contacting the Landscaping Committee about my SOD. but if not for such a great maintenance crew I wouldnt know who to contact. I do wish they would mow my fenced back yard cause my dog is never out if Im not home. The pool committee is also great!I am very happy with my new home. R-CI did a good job! And it is a great community. Great place to live!!!!!

    RCI built our home in 2017. During construction, they were responsive to our needs and concerns. That continued when just the other day we found a leaking pipe under the house, which was very clearly the result of a staple that had punctured the pipe during construction. Even though the construction warranty had run out, RCI recognized the oversight and didn’t hesitate to reimburse the cost to fix the pipe. Thanks, RCI!

    I am a single man, making a pretty good income, and I live by myself. The rent I was paying for a 2 bedroom apartment in Glen Allen, VA was Mortgage Territory, and I needed a tax shelter. My tithes to the church wasnt really getting it, and a house was the viable answer!So after about a year of looking, I found a nice little subdivision but a 30 minutes drive north of my office in downtown Richmond, VA. The builder, R-CI, they were and still are building houses to suit, with a variety of floor plans to chose from.My little ditty is a 1,600 s.f single story gem, with 3 bedrooms, gorgeously beautiful hardwood floor, a fireplace, a 2-car garage, a covered deck with lights and a ceiling fan, granite counter tops, sod with sprinklers, an an alarm system etc.Being that I was doing this from the ground up, I got to pick my own colors on everything. I picked the color of the siding, the stones for the pillar and front, the brick (and yes, even the mortar color), the wooden floors, the granite counter tops, the paint, the tile, the lighting and its placement, faucet fixtures, garage door, window frames (And thats about all you can do with shrimp).etc. And R-CI builds to suit from their plans - you can modify the plans to your needs.I moved the fireplace from the sidewall to the backwall to dominate the Great Room as you immediately spy it from the overture of the front door. Its visually impressive, if I must say myself. The mantle is indeed very handsome. The widows that were normally on this backwall, per the base plan, R-CI relocated them to other rooms of my choice for additional natural ventilation and lighting at no charge. What can I say?The construction was conscientious, the workmanship, fit and finish was fine, and they kept their schedule. The schedule - thats a big one in my business! The little things, they willingly come back to tweak these. My Quality Control and Quality Assurance and Commissioning Agent was Ms. Alicia Lindsay. (As an engineer, when we show our clients how to use a new system or program, thats called Commissioning.)Ms. Lindsay returns every phone call, answers every text, and she responds that day, if not that hour! The things I forgot how to work, shes talked me thru them via phone, or shell show up personally to make it happen. Working with the subcontractors - hvac, electrical, plumbing, gutters, siders, roofers, etc. Ms. Lindsay does her best to coordinate with your Work Schedule, or your Im Sick From Work Today Schedule. Im at my 1 year warranty check, and have a small issue. Alicia in on it, answering my text at 6PM! Again, what can I say?As an Engineer, supervising the construction if buildings for the Federal Government and for major corporations like Federal Express in Memphis, I cannot over recommend R-CI Builders. What an experience! So heres the deal:1) R-CI is your builder. Ill put em up against anybody.2) Mr. Richard Hanson is your agent. If you want an honest man with the best character, Mr. Hanson is your man!3) Ms. Alicia Lindsay is your QA/QC and Commissioning Officer. With her, its personal. She really does care.
