    We found Gates electric on the Next Door app. I saw that Mike had all 5 star reviews. I concur and give him 5 stars too. Mikes two technicians installed two new motion activated lights on our barn. They work great. We will definitely call Mike for our future electrical needs. George & Marie Navickis

    Gates Electric just completed the second job for us, first we hired them for a basement/laundry room project and they did such a great job we knew we wanted them back for our kitchen remodel. They are very skilled and never hesitated to stop what they were doing to answer our questions. They resolved all the old “not up-to-code” issues from our 1970s era home and we felt a real sense of security when they left that day knowing that we now have a safer home. They did a great job keeping us informed and included in the entire process, as well as responsive to our schedule. Everyone who has worked on our projects is very kind and conscientious. We would recommend them to our family and friends looking for quality electricians. The finished kitchen is awesome!

    Mike went above and beyond for our project and we couldnt be happier!!! Our living room had no lights, he recommended and installed some can lights and a fan. The results were beyond our expectations. We also had additional work done that helped make our new house feel more like home.     I spoke with Pam in the office about scheduling an appointment. She was pleasant and honestly made the difference from me choosing another business. She was very polite and professional from the second she answered the phone.I also had time to chat with Mike about our electrical issue, who was very nice! He was able to schedule a visit within a few days since it was a very busy weekend. I appreciate the communication on his part and the professionalism.Jeremy and Nathan were two great young men and were also professional. If you are looking around and looking for places to call Gates Electric will not disappoint! Thanks again for giving us peace of mind and we now know who to call in the future.

    Needed a sub panel for a basement addition. Mike’s team came out in a reasonable time and did a great job. His rates are competitive. I’ve used him for a couple of other minor jobs, adding 220 outlet and a microwave outlet. I’ve been pleased enough to keep using him.

    Hired Gate Electric for our new home in Rockton. Everything worked out exceedingly well. They helped plan out everything from what I was expecting and even made everything better with their touch. Probably easily over 100 LED ceiling lights from outside soffits all around, garage, and every room in the house. Under cabinet, above cabinet, and other in wall planned wiring. Excellent job and crew. I would easily recommend them. 12/26/23

    When a storm knocked our power line from our house, Mike came out immediately to access the damage. He and his crew worked non stop to bring power back to our home. They were proficient, professional, and did everything that needed to be done. Since then, we have had him install a home generator which was done promptly and expertly. We highly recommend Mike and his crew. He is our go to guy.

In fact, you will be here writing a great review after the job is finished. I am a new homeowner. Needed my panel upgraded, general electrical work done from suggestions made by the home inspector, I needed an outlet installed in a hard to reach area & Mike & his team & I want to shout out Peter & Shane were all amazing. They got the job done on time & right on budget! They all had great communication, very professional, explained everything they were doing........literally just call them. Youre wasting your time if youre not dialing the number right now. Obviously, I had a great experience. Mike was one of 3 electricians that I called & he responded to me immediately & took interest in the job I had for him. I made the right call going with Gates Electrical & you need to do the same thing. Mike will have to fit you around all the jobs I will have him doing for me from now on (lol)......... because this is my electrician for any work I need done (period). He actually showed up before the scheduled start time, which immediately impressed me. This punctuality set the tone for the entire project. What was even more impressive was his ability to adapt to unexpected challenges. When we needed to cut a hole behind the dishwasher to run wires, we discovered that the dishwasher itself required some attention. Without hesitation, Mike made a call, and Pearson Plumbing came to the rescue.     Mike was so supportive when I called for service. Right off he expressed concern because I was so nervous.He really walked me through this problem, we set up a time frame, and called me to make sure we were ready for the appointment.What a way to be in these times of uncertainty.Excellent service was provided and I plan to use them from here on.Cudos Gates he’s a keeper!

    Gates Electric did a great job on our electrical project. We had a couple of designated outlets (designated circuit breakers) installed in the basement for a freezer and dehumidifier. We had additional outlets installed throughout the basement. They were on time (which is very important to me), professional, and again did a great job. I would highly recommend them for your electrical work.

    Mike was extremely nice, professional and even called us on a Sunday morning to find out what issues we were having…our home warranty company called him when our power went out on a Sunday morning at about 2am. ComEd determined that we had power to our house and we needed an electrician. He replaced our old panel and breakers and was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! Would highly recommend Gates Electrical!!!!

    We had Mike do a total re-do of our homes electrical work, and he was a dream to work with. He worked hard to make sure that the Loves Park code officer was happy, he removed some truly scary old wiring, and was patient and prompt. Im pretty sure he did extra work for us for free, as he found anomalies in our vintage wiring.Highly recommended! You wont be sorry for trusting your home to them.

    Gates Electric did an excellent job on several projects in our house - including installing a new electric panel, setting up an electric line for our dryer, installing additional outlets around the house and updating some of our older ones. Mike and his team were friendly, efficient and also very neat and tidy in their work. They are excellent value, too.

    We contacted Mike based on a referral we got for a whole house generator. Mike came out right away and laid everything out. Mike was great to talk to as he was very friendly and professional. Mike was an advocate and fought to get us a generator despite there being a significant wait. Once it finally arrived, Mike and his team handled the install like the professionals they are. The end result was one of the most professional and clean installs Ive seen on such equipment. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work. Mike will always be our first call should we ever need an electrician. If you want someone who will actually answer the phone or respond to a text, knows what they are doing, is respectful, and timely, look no further. Great job Gates Electrical, youve earned my trust!

    My realtor recommended Gates Electrical to me when I bought my home. I was happy with a couple small jobs Mike helped me out with, so hired him to replace all of my knob and tube wiring in my 1930s house. Mike and his crew were thoughtful, resourceful, and thorough. I had lots of communication with Mike about the status of the project, any hiccups that occurred, and potential solutions. Very happy with his work!
