I met Jake and JEM Custom when they responded to an ad to fix my kitchen full of dysfunctional closing drawers. They impressed me with their thoroughness and attention to detail. When I invited them to remove and replace a railing and handrail that had a key location in my floorplan, they were happy to oblige. The old railing was very old-fashioned; all turned oak newels, posts, etc. Wanting a more modern look, I insisted on using a design and hardware from ViewRail who turned out to be very difficult to deal with, but JEM shouldered through. The system is square black risers/newels connected by stainless steel rods and topped with a custom wooden handrail. Id love to show it, but Google wont let me post my photos for some reason. The removal of the old system and installation of the new were done with exquisite care. I happily and unconditionally recommend JEM Custom Cabinetry and Millwork.

Jake, his brother Tristan and their mother Jane worked beautifully together to design, build and install a beautiful craftsman style fireplace in our new home. They were responsive, professional, and a dream to work with! The fireplace is exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend this team and look forward to working with them on future home projects.

JEM Carpentry Inc. did a wonderful job installing and building our pantry shelves, installing trim, casing and hanging doors. We have an older home so the installation was challenging, but not for JEM! The work was very nicely done! I have already hired them again for another project to remove and replace our front door.

Jake is a outstanding professional contactor who takes pride in his work. He demoed our basement and upstairs replacing all of the doors, casing, and trim. He is hard worker and ensures your project is done timely and exactly as you requested. His pricing is competitive with other contractors.
