    My project started with discovering black mold in my bedrooms. The Katz team and I came up with a great plan to remediate and then update my hundred-year-old house, but still keep its hundred year-old charm. Remember you pay for what you get so if you want a great job done make sure you hire the right people I did just that.

    I did a kitchen remodel with Katz Design & Builders in Long Beach, CA, a few months ago and I couldnt be happier. I chose them based on their Photos on Houzz and their website, and the fact that the project manager came all the way over to speak about an estimate and gave me all the details I needed and showed me his care.     After many years of just talking about it, my wife and I decided it was time to remodel our very outdated kitchen and bathroom. After looking at contractor reviews on multiple websites and meeting four contractors to obtain estimates, we decided to go with Katz Design & Builders because they not only offered the most competitive price but they listened to what we wanted to do.Our first meeting was with Val, their company designer who is extremely in tune with home remodeling designs and very knowledgeable about construction work in general. He gave us feedback and shared his ideas but he understood that everything was completely up to us.From start to finish, Val and his team were amazingly fast getting the work done. It was important to us to have an open line of communication with Val, and we definitely did. Everything stayed on budget except for some extra work that needed to be done in the shower area (rotted subfloor) but Val took care of all the repairs.The custom kitchen cabinets and countertops look so incredible! Val added recessed lighting to our dark dining and living room areas and painted everything to look so nice.We are beyond happy with the final results for our Kitchen, Bathroom, Living and Dining room areas.     We worked with Katz Design & Builders Inc on a total home renovation. This included demolition, design and installation of a new kitchen, 2.5 baths, vinyl flooring, kitchen drywall, garage painting and new door framing in a vacant townhouse property. Katz also painted the entire interior of the house and made a strong effort to accommodate our special requests. Our project manager, Ben & Val was responsive, knowledgeable, easy to deal with and very nice. The office manager Shani was also responsive and knowledgeable . The resulting workmanship was, in our experience, professional and we are happy with the result.This project was massive in our view and partially impacted by HOA work hour rules and parking issues. It did take longer than expected and ultimately benefited from owner presence to keep an eye, answer questions about fixtures and keep track of new fixtures and parts.Katz will supply a list of homeowner supplied materials, fixtures and parts before contracting, such as flooring and tiles.
