Double Painting and Carpentry does great work. We did a full kitchen remodel this year (2022) and the team did a wonderful job. This is a hardworking group of people. Lots of attention to detail. There were many custom carpentry needs for our house, which was built in 1905. A structural beam was necessary when we took down a wall between the old kitchen and dining room. This was not a problem for Double.John was responsive to questions/concerns throughout the project.The end result is just what we had hoped for.The painting was meticulously done and looks fabulous. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Polite, friendly crew!We have also used Double Painting and Carpentry in the past for exterior painting.Highly recommend!

The crew at Double Painting did an excellent job painting the exterior of our house. They had the carpentry skillset to make all necessary wood and shingle repairs prior to painting which was very convenient. The effort they put into prep work was extensive and professional. They spent a day and a half sanding almost every inch of the house and caulked unsightly gaps I didnt even realize existed. The final outcome was flawless and they did it all for a fair price that was in line with other quotes we received. I would definitely hire John Soares and Double Painting again for any painting job. The quality of their work is as good as it gets!

I found their ad on facebook and saw that they had outstanding reviews from several clients. I took a chance because I needed to get the walls and ceiling including crown molding in the first floor painted. John provided the estimate and worked with me on the price. Him and his crew were very nice and professional. They covered all the furniture and cabinets, vacuumed the floors and took all their debris with them. I was really very happy with the quality of their work especially the trims and the crown molding. They also painted the baseboard which was not in the initial quote! I can attest to their workmanship and will definitely recommend them to my neighbors.

The hardworking, always punctual, clean and pleasant crew at Double Painting just completed painting the entire exterior of my 2-story home a drastically different color (from bright yellow w/red shutters to gray w/black shutters) and they did a fantastic job — my house looks like new! My home had a lot of peeling paint and carpentry work needed. They replaced any rotten shingles/wood and took the time to prep properly and do the job right. My home is also on a sloped lot so that was an added challenge which they handled w/ease. They also re-stained and painted my deck and saved my rotting shed from the landfill. I hired John and his team to do several painting projects at my home. It involved both exterior (a large deck, two porches, and polyurethaning a wood ceiling on the farmer’s porch) and interior work (several ceilings including a large cathedral and several repair and touch up projects). He provided a fair quote and was flexible when I added a couple of additional projects after the initial quote. They were here three days and were the utmost professionals. Each day they cleaned up stowed their supplies neatly. Both of John’s guys were very friendly and polite. I would hire John again the next time I have a painting project. Owner Joan Soares of Double Painting in Lexington came to our rescue after a job gone wrong. We’d initially hired Everett-based WF Painting Services to paint a bedroom and small bath. Without doing proper prep work, WF used latex paint on oil-base-painted woodwork. The result was paint that peeled upon touch and over all sloppy work. Attempts to properly rectify proved futile.Double Painting was hired to remediate. John’s amazing crew—professional and hard-working—had to completely strip woodwork and repaint the rooms. This is how a professional painting company operates. I couldn’t be happier with the end result.Note: Double Painting charges more than many in the area…and is worth every penny!

First-rate work! Double Painting was punctual every day, cleaned up after themselves every day, and gladly worked around our schedule (we had floor work happening simultaneously). Their wallpaper removal and prep work on old horsehair plaster walls was exceptional. They also stripped, sanded, and stained an old railing, which turned out beautiful. These guys helped preserve and restore the beauty of our 1890s Victorian. We will definitely call them for our next painting job.

Double Painting Inc. produced excellent results on my home renovation project in February, 2018, at a reasonable price. The project consisted of removing old wall paper from all the rooms in a four-bedroom colonial, painting all woodwork, walls and ceilings, and replacing three medicine cabinets plus overhead lights, and later power washing of the exterior. I was living in the house at the time the work was going on, which creates a challenge from the start. But the painters preserved some living and working space for me until the very last moment.The painters are from Brazil, so some are just learning English. But they were very nice, very skilled at their work, and very responsive to requests for aid on occasional extra tasks like moving heavy packages or disposing of trash. They use a technique new to me of spray-painting woodwork. This requires covering over the furniture and blocking room and closet doors with floor-to-ceiling cellophane. So be sure to request advance notice so you can get out necessary clothing and other items before they start that part. In addition, painters’ cloths and paper coverings were put down everywhere to protect the wood flooring. Every night they cleaned up all the rooms where they’d been working. They worked overtime to keep the project moving along despite snowstorm power outages.I would definitely hire this company again for any future projects.

We hired John to paint our newly purchased townhouse. He did kitchen cabinets, repaired drywall holes left from decommissioned hvac ducts and cable TV/phone wall boxes, repaired ceiling texture, painted all walls and ceilings, painted the garage floor and walls, painted doors, fixed holes from a ductless minisplit install, hauled away trash, refinished wood railings and replaced some baseboards.It was a big job! We were on a tight timeline due to the move out/move in process and Double came through for us. An army showed up to tape and block everything off with careful consideration for our newly refinished hardwood floors. The job was done on time and professionally. Inevitably a job of this scale required some touch ups here and there and he didnt give any grief. I would highly recommend John and his team for anything at all and will be calling him again for my future needs.

They used the special paint we requested, did some minor carpentry work, moved the furniture and moved furniture back to the exact spot when finished.We were so happy with the finished product, we had John and his team come back and paint the entire downstairs. They were very professional, clean, and great to work with. Definitely use Double Painting again
