Joels painting came out last year and tackled 2 big projects for us; the kitchen cabinets and the outside of our house (shutters, doors, and porch posts). They did an absolutely wonderful job. My husband and I were doing a lot of the renovation and had, at first, considered painting the kitchen cabinets ourselves. We started with a small bathroom vanity and after that project, we quickly realized the cabinets (which were very dirty and greasy) would need some professional help. I searched a long time for painters I thought did good work because we had just installed a new countertop, so these cabinets had to turn out well. And they did an amazing job! Im so happy we went with Joels painting. Many people come in and cant believe they were painted, the workmanship is that good (the edge work is so tight and clean, it looks like new cabinets were installed). They came back in the spring and did the outside of the house and its also absolutely wonderful work. A year later, and I still get so happy every time I walk downstairs and see my beautiful cabinets or pull up into my driveway with my nice shutters and doors. Very nice and hardworking guys too. My phone doesnt take the greatest photos, but hopefully you can see how nice everything turned out!

We contacted Joel’s Painting for an estimate to paint our wrap around porch floor. Their sales rep Jeramey was punctual, courteous and professional and provided a very competitive quote or the job. He explained that he might not be able to start our job until mid summer due to their workload which was fine with us. When project got underway their painter Eddie arrived on time and explained the steps for completing the job. The work was completed on schedule and the result was astounding. We will be using them again for our 2 remaining decks. I would highly recommend them.

I definitely recommend Joel’s Painting. We had Joel’s paint most of our interior including ceilings and replace our builder grade handrail with a new sturdy handrail and new box newel. Shawn did an awesome job with the stain. As far as the interior walls, Joel’s painters took the time to sand the previous painter’s brush strokes around our bathroom mirrors. They also painted the garage side of a door that looks just as good as the other doors that were sprayed during construction. I’m very happy that we hired Joel’s Painting!

Danny and Macho spent 5+ days painting our living room, upstairs hallway and 12 doors! The result is amazing and exceeds our expectations. My wife and I were especially impressed with their prep work and how it produced crisp clean trim lines. Could not be happier with my decision to go with Joel’s Painting. Their reputation is the reason I made the call when it came time to paint the interior of my new(ish) home. I did not shop around for competing estimates, and I’m sure I could have found a more affordable option, but I do believe you get what you pay for.Every person I interacted with at Joel’s was fantastic from the estimator to the managers to the painters. There are too many names to list but I hope they all get the recognition they deserve. My project was not small. My entire first floor needed done. This included ceilings, doors, windows, trim, and walls. It took exactly one week, Wednesday to Wednesday, with anywhere from 2-3 painters at a time. They were on time each day and worked efficiently and quickly while delivering quality work.I work from home and my office was part of this project so coordination and communication was critical for me to be able to work while the project was being completed. Of the many skilled technicians that worked on my project, not one of them made me feel like I was ever an inconvenience to them or in their way (which by the way I was lol).Small repairs to areas that needed it were part of the estimate and those were done with no issue. The crews cleaned up after themselves daily, in my opinion more than was necessary, areas of concern where a repair would not be possible were communicated to me directly and immediately, and the last person to leave did a final walkthrough with me and even spotted some areas himself he felt necessary to do one final quick touch up.I feel like I could write another five paragraphs about my experience with Joel’s but I’ll spare anyone that chooses to read this the rest of the details and just say if you want something done cheap you might get what you pay for. If you want something done well, call Joel’s. I will definitely be calling them when it’s time to do my second floor.

I needed wallpaper removed in 2 rooms and drywall repaired in 2 rooms to prepare for painting. This work was being done to get my house ready for sale. Each time I requested a bid, Cam responded almost immediately. The bids were accurate and honored. The turnaround time between bid and beginning the project was very short, within 5 business days. The crew doing the work was prompt, professional, and competent. As I was doing the painting after the wallpaper removal and drywall repair, Cam gave me good advice and guidance on completing the project. He was knowledgeable and personally supervised the crew. In addition, he checked the work at its completion. I have already recommended Joel’s Painting to others. Cam and the crew from Joel’s Painting were an important part of helping me get my house ready for listing. The house sold in 5 days at higher than the listed price.

I have used Joel’s Painting over the years several times with great satisfaction. I live in a historic old row home in Lancaster City that is close to 200 years old. There of course will be problems in a place this old. If you don’t live in the city, you may not realize the large amount of wild animals who live among us! I see squirrels and opossums all of the time!A few years ago, a squirrel came down my chimney and decided to scratch and claw a hole through the drywall to get into my home. I called several places to help with sealing off the chimney and doing some drywall repair. I had several places refuse to come out for the repair work! A few months prior to this event, Joel’s team painted the outside of my house and did a great job. Desperate to find help, I called Joel’s Painting. Sure enough he sent someone out that evening to help seal up the chimney and get my drywall taken care of.As I mentioned, opossums seem to love the city as well. I recently had an issue with an opossum who found a way under my home’s crawlspace and took up residence under the floor in my living room. Subsequently, my living room also then served as the opossum’s final resting place after they were unable to find their way back out! Living atop a pet cemetery was really not working for us on many levels, but I had no idea who to call to help me with this problem. I had a feeling that the floor and the wall would need to be ripped up, repaired and then replaced. Once again, I contacted Joel’s Painting. Jeramey got back to me and had me on the schedule right away. This isn’t of course a typical job, but I was so thankful they were willing to come out and see how they could help.Robert from Joel’s Paining did a great job at listening and diagnosing the problem. He did excellent work pulling up the floor and figuring out where the animals were able to enter. He did end up having to remove part of the wall and reinforce with concrete boards to be sure that this problem won’t happen again.After Robert got that all taken care of, Kyle came in and did an excellent job with the drywall repairs. Kyle then sanded and painted the room in a timely manner and with great care and quality. Side note: Kyle really looks like David Spade, so it sort of felt like we had a celebrity paining the room! (He was a great sport about that also!) Everyone I worked with at Joel’s Painting was great and respectful. Although I was able to be at home for most of the work that was being done, I absolutely felt comfortable with both Robert and Kyle to be in my home working alone. They were very trustworthy men who were really hard workers. Jeramey, Robert, and Kyle were also very flexible with scheduling, which was very helpful. It was an odd job and I also wasn’t sure what it was going to cost. In the end, I feel the price I paid for the work was fair and there were no surprises.I highly recommend Joel’s painting for all types of jobs. Thanks so much for the great work.-Michael

A representative from Joels Painting provided us with an estimate within a few days and was able to work within our schedule to complete the home refresh.The project involved patching, drywall repair, painting all walls, ceilings, and trim in a 2400 sq.ft. house. Throughout the project, our project lead, Cam, explained everything clearly to us, ensured that all of our quality standards were met, and the crew was always friendly and personable. His crew was scheduled promptly and they developed a good working plan for painting the entire house including vaulted ceilings and a two story room with minimal disruption to our family life. When you take an older home down to the studs, as the owner, you think blank slate and no problem. Craftspeople know, starting from scratch would be much easier. To create a beautiful, modern, functional, high-end space that is as attractive as it is functional, using a 40-year-old footprint, is a BIG ASK, but Joel and his team did it (while managing uneasy homeowners and their budget.) I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Joel’s Painting. When we called to inquire about some painting we needed done, someone came out to our home the very same day to give us an estimate. Within a day a we had a clear and reasonable estimate of the scope of work. There was never any pressure, but when we were ready to move forward with the project, we were able to schedule the work in just a few days. The evening before the project was scheduled to be done, we received a text message confirming that someone would be arriving the next morning at 8:00am. The next morning, the employee assigned to our job, Shawn, arrived promptly (actually a few minutes early) and he got right to work. We had several ceilings, a stairwell, and an office painted. If you are reading this review, then you have done yourself a great service by doing your research. However, your research ends here—Joel’s Painting & Contracting will NOT disappoint—they have been above and beyond the call of duty regarding my contracting needs. Don’t let their name fool you as they do more than just painting. We had our entire home exterior wood rot repaired, prepped and then painted. We had additions done to our home along with everything mentioned as well. We also had some unfinished interior painting that I had started, but could not find the time to pick up where I had left off, so I had Joel and crew finish the job and finished it better than I would’ve done it myself. When it comes to DIY paint jobs, I love to take them on—the problem was finding the time to do it around my schedule. I have extremely high standards and am very meticulous with my paintwork or projects I do myself around the house—attention to details is my forte as I am a perfectionist, so finding the right contractor to do the job was critical for me. Joel and his crew all have these attributes when it comes to painting—he and his team are skilled professionals that know how to work the brush well, cut laser-straight lines along edges, and work efficiently in a timely manner. They transformed our house in a relatively short amount of time and we couldn’t be more pleased to have hired them for the job. Their pricing was very reasonable as well. I have called many others before Joel’s Painting & Contracting, and have not found any other option who are even close for comparison in terms of quality, pricing, professionalism, and responsiveness. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding—their reviews are solid and the results of our home shows it. We had a fantastic experience with Joels painting. He was highly recommended by our general contractor and we could not be more satisfied with both the quality of work and customer service. We have a contemporary cedar house that needed external paint. Our original color was no longer available. Joels helped us select a color and painted a test spot on the house so that we could be confident in our color choice. They were not happy with coverage in some areas and opted (after discussion with us) to sand areas to get a better result. More weathered areas needed additional coats to achieve a more uniform look. Our house was a BIG job. The weather was extremely hot the days the workers were here and they had to work on a metal roof. They were dependable, friendly, and neat and communicated well with us with regards to progress, costs, and schedules. We would definitely recommend Joels painting.Its been 7 years since my first review and we used Joels painting again for both the interior and exterior of our home. Our experience this time was just as good as the last time. Our home is really challenging due to a very open floor plan and VERY high ceilings. The final results were beautiful inside and out. The guys were flexible, dependable, accommodating and neat. Josh was just so great to work with. He is so professional, took such pride in his work, made sure everything was done perfectly, worked around the coming and going of my family members and kept me well informed of schedules and progress. At Meadia Heights Golf Club Joel’s Painting and contracting has been one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. We were so impressed with the job they did for our restaurant remodel, we decided to give them another project. Jeramey, who did our initial consultation was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He explained the process for the project, indcluding details about the work that would be performed and how it would be billed. Due to unrelated circumstances, my family and I had to be out of town during the project, but following our meeting with Jeramey we felt very comfortable with leaving them a key to our home so they could do the work while we were away. Josh, the lead painter on the project, was also very professional, knowledgable, and kind. He stayed in contact with me during the project, and even checked my house for potential water leaks (due to cold weather) at my request. They did a great job, and once we returned from our trip, Jeramey and Josh both checked in with me to make sure my wife and I were 100% satisfied with the project. There were a few things we wanted touched up, which they quickly came out and resolved. We would definitely use Joels Painting and Contracting again.

A job move and a retirement put us in the position of having to prepare our house for sale with only a few weeks lead-time. I contacted Joel’s Painting because of the good reviews on Angie’s list. Joel came out promptly and gave a good bid on the painting. Much to my surprise, he was also willing to take care of masonry, roofing, and carpentry concerns. He also connected me with a colleague who came out within a day for replacement of 2500 sq ft of basement flooring. My first thought was that this was too good to be true. At the same time, Joel’s help would save me the time of contacting four other contractors. While skeptical, I decided to give all the work to Joel. He impressed me as honest and really motivated to build his business through referrals from satisfied customers. Shortly after contracting with Joel I had to be out-of-state for 10 critical days while the work was being done. I gave Joel and his crew full access to my home while I was gone and was extremely pleased to find the work nearly done when I returned and everything in excellent shape. Once back, I got to know many of the members of Joel’s crew and they are good people with a strong work ethic. A few overlooked odds and ends arose (doors I forgot to mention in our original contract) and Joel was extremely fair in adding them on to the contract. What can I say? A contractor you can trust is extremely rare and one who performs the quality of work that Joel does is surprising, gratifying, and helps restore my faith in the goodness of my fellows.

My family just moved into a house and the upstairs was in need of a lot of TLC. There was old wall paper and borders, so many holes from nails, screws, anchors, etc. and it just made me feel uneasy. The team that came did really thorough prep work and were efficient. The upstairs looks completely different. You would never be able to tell where they removed wallpaper or where they patched holes. I feel so completely relaxed in each room and I am beyond happy with their work.

My husband David and I used Joels Painting to renovate and transform our midcentury home in School Lane Hills. I spoke with him while still in Virginia to discuss work needed as David was busy. Immediately, he stood-out from others as he understood what needed to be done. He and his company specialize in historic properties and posses the experience, skills and artistry to do the job right. We are perfectionists and have very high standards for ourselves and everyone around us. Joels Painting painted the inside and outside of our home paying close attention to detail. Any rotted wood was replaced as they, too, have a carpenter. Gutters were cleaned as well. For the inside, painting was done throughout the house. They rennovated our kitchen along with replacing sheet rock in the basement after discovering mold issues. While working, if any handyman issue came-up such as a loose doorhandle, faulty window, or a crumbling ceiling, they fixed it and didnt make a big deal about it. They knew what to do. Even though they are not landscapers, they expanded and created a pond in our side garden. The upstairs staircase railing was restored and stained a dark work color by Judah, Joels brother who is a true artist. He painstakingly, drew lines in the wood to resemble the natural wood grains using the stain. Doing it this way was cheaper than stripping the wood. It is a great working with a company that is honest and does things in the most cost-effective, pragmatic manner. If the company is unable to do a job, they know of great people to do the work. For example, we needed a mason to repair our front porch and they sent the right guy to do the job. Doing work well, the right way the first time saves time and money. It is a good investment. Joels Painting is a family business. They follow the Golden Rule by treating others as they too would like to be treated.
