Kyle Fisch, licensed Class B General Contractor and owner of Hickory Heart, Inc, has a range of experience and expertise in not only both finish and rough carpentry, but was also able to do an excellent job on backsplash tile, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, wood refinishing and staining, wallpaper removal and painting, and other related tasks renovating our 70+ yr old kitchen and bath, integrating new with old to avoid clashing with the rest of the house. He custom-made beautiful cabinets on-site in our garage that became his workshop, and only the extensive plumbing and electrical work was subcontracted. I largely determined new layout (with a few changes along the way) via national kitchen and bath guidelines and help from Kyle, and wanted to select and order most lighting and plumbing fixtures along with countertops and appliances installation, but there are various ways to do this. Plan what you want and communicate with any contractor for best results, but with Kyle you’ll also get a high quality job at a fair price. We’re sorry to see him go, but are happy with our new kitchen and bath!

Kyle was fantastic! He completely rebuilt our balcony that had rotted wood and shotty repairs that the previous owner completed before selling the house. He ensured that it was built to code and went above and beyond for a very reasonable price. Cant recommend him enough!

Kyle did an outstanding job rebuilding our kitchen cabinets damaged after a flood. Two other people who came out said it could not be done. They were wrong, on a scale of 1to 10 Kyle’s workmanship earns a 10!

Kyle is an artist. He understands wood and is able to revive its natural beauty as intended by the artisans at the beginning of the 20th century. He stripped seven layers of paint that covered the beautiful woodwork in our 1913 craftsman home. Not only were we impressed with his attention to detail and commitment to the craftsman style era, but so were all the other tradesmen who saw the transition. We did not fully understand how long the process would take, but trusted Kyle and his commitment to deliver the best product he could given that he was working with 400 year-old wood (our understanding is that most of the trees cut at the turn of the 20th century were already 300 years old). We had specific restoration requirements to be met for projects on our 115yr old home, and Kyles standard of work was well above expectations. We feel so lucky to have found Kyle. Hes an extremely talented craftsman and does everything to perfection. Hes a wizard at staining new wood to match any type of existing wood. No matter what needs doing, Kyle can do it. He never ceased to amaze us with all the things he could do. We highly recommend Kyle because he is incredible and does fantastic work!
