We absolutely love our Torshel storm shelter. We bought the 7x3 model and have it in the front of our 2-car garage. It has been perfectly fine for our family of six. We even squeeze our dogs and cats in there with us. Weve recently closed in our garage and converted it into a game room, so its even more convenient now. The experience was exceptional working with them. We feel safe knowing that when storms roll in, we dont have to worry about anything. This thing is bolted to the concrete with 17 ten inch bolts! Wow. Thank you Torshel!!

We love our storm shelter. We had it installed in our 3rd car garage 2 years ago now and it is perfect. The size we have is plenty big for a family of 5 plus our dog and it still allows us to park a car in the garage if needed. I love the piece of mind it provides, knowing we have a safe place to go. The storms have gotten so much worse in our areas in the last few years. I did a lot of research before finally investing in having a storm room installed. Torshel was the quality, safety and price I was looking for. The men that brought my storm room (shelter) out to install were amazing, efficient, friendly and fast . Since installation, I have utilized my storm room several times and I no longer fear the storms as I did, nor do my pets . I have mine set up like a little game room with some toys, snacks, water and other things that make it comfortable to stay in if needed .. I love our safe room now and one of the best investments I have ever made .,

We did a lot of research when deciding on a storm shelter company and Torshel won our vote based on their reviews (both recent and older) and their available options. We wanted something we could adjust to fit into an existing interior space while also maximizing our shelter capacity and thus comfort. We went with their modular 6x6 and had them install it in a storage room - this means we have a power source (via power strip connected through the shelter) and at least limited air conditioning around the shelter. The power strip is useful for plugging in a fan and charging electronic devices (on the occasion we have to stay inside for back-to-back warnings). We appreciate that the door is wide enough to fit a wheelchair (should it be needed someday) and contains multiple locking mechanisms and a small window. Weve set up the inside of the shelter to house our emergency kit and some comfort items. The wrench hanging inside gives us peace of mind that should a tornado come through and block our exit, we could still get out by removing other sections of the shelter. The metal of the shelter provides an easy way to hang magnetic lights and hooks (for hanging backpacks, blankets, etc.). Torshel worked quickly with us from answering our many initial questions, tying down the details we wanted (option, size, door mount side, location for install, etc.), getting everything ordered and delivered, quickly installed (took about 4 hours total by two installation personnel), all the way to the follow-up walk-though by a manager to ensure our installation was completed 100% correctly and passed their on-site safety test. We highly recommend this company and their modular product!

After researching above ground/in house shelters, we decided to go with aTorshel shelter. We added to our home and wanted a unit that we didnt have to go outside and underground. (Were getting up in years) This shelter allows us easy access from our bedroom. (Very convenient for us) We have used it a few times during strong thunderstorms and a nearby tornado. We felt very safe. We highly recommend the Torshel Storm Shelter.

Torshel was incredible to work with. From picking out the correct unit, discussing options, and arranging pickup, Torshel was always easy to contact and quick to assist. I chose to pick my unit up at the Jackson Mississippi warehouse, and that was a seamless process. Rick, the warehouse manager, was extremely attentive. I also chose to self install the unit, which was simple thanks to the video and printed directions. All parts are inventoried and labeled so everything was easy to find and accounted for. It really goes without saying, but once assembled the shelter seems unbelievably strong and it anchored well to my existing foundation. I can’t say enough good things about this company, and I’d recommend them to anyone considering a storm shelter!

I had to wait to get funds together but as soon as I did they had a date available within 3 weeks. After having a tornado touch down about a 1mile from my house and the weather alert on my phone saying “take cover “ over and over. With nowhere to go in the middle of the night.I decided to have some “piece of mind” and called Torshel and ordered a shelter. I bought the 3x5 shelter which fit into a corner of my garage.It arrived on a wood pallet with all the bolts and nuts. Most of the shelter I installed myself but needed a hand with the roof panels. Once set up I drilled into the concrete floor and installed the supplied bolts for the floor.I can’t say enough about the piece of mind my family and I have now with the shelter.

I am extremely please with my whole experience with Torshell Storm Shelter. Israel was so helpful when modifying the shelter to fit under my stairs. The delivery was a bit of a challenge but they handled it well. The installation went smoothly thanks to torshell working well with my contractor. Overall I feel so safe now with my storm shelter.

Following the tornado outbreaks we had in MS in early spring, we made the decision to make an investment in protecting ourselves, our daughter and her family, and some friends. Over a couple of months’ time, we had Torshel install two 5 x 7 above ground shelters and we also bought and installed two below ground shelters. What sold us on Torshel was the quality of their storm shelters and from our first engagement with the Torshel staff, it became clear they care about what they are doing and stand by their work. In the months since making this investment in these storm shelters three of the four have been used during threating weather conditions. There is a great peace of mind which comes from not having to shelter in an inside room and hope for the best, but instead having a safe and secure storm room which will hold up against a direct hit from a tornado. We can’t change the weather, but we can be prepared for it and the Torshel products are cost effective while offering safety when you and your family need it.

First, I would like to say that we live in south Louisiana, so we dont have a lot of tornados. When I told my wife I had purchased a Torshel Storm Shelter she wanted to know why I would do that since we had never been threatened by a tornado. She just humored me and blew it off as one of those frivolous purchases that overly cautious people make. It didnt take long for us to use the storm shelter when we had an EF-2 tornado pass within 200 feet from our house, and I can tell you she was very glad to have the shelter to hide in while the weather passed. We had to use it on another occasion when severe weather was reported in our area. My main reason for purchasing the storm shelter was to avoid us having to abandon our home for hurricanes and being able to evacuate for other severe weather situations really make it worth the investment. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to feel the comfort of knowing that they have taken all necessary steps to protect their family with the highest quality protective shelter available. I was impressed when I saw the quality workmanship of the shelter itself and the professional installation process. We can now sleep well knowing that we are safe against most environmental threats.

In 2019, after waiting for 5 years on a list maintained by the North Central Texas Council of Governments for their Tornado Shelter Rebate program (they pay half), I finally received approval to move forward with the purchase of a Tornado Shelter. After much research, I settled on Torshel for 3 primary reasons: 1) quality of product 2) no sales tax since I live in Texas and at the time they were only in Louisianna and 3) their door opens inward, a personal requirement I had.Jonathan Fonseca, their sales rep, was incredibly easy to work with and responsive. Their delivery team was very professional and after driving the unit to Southlake, TX from Louisianna, installed the 4-person unit in my garage very quickly. Overall, Im very, very happy with the product and the company. To be transparent, I did have a couple of minor issues that I took up with them including the long bench was not cut correctly which prevented the door from opening fully (easy for me to remedy with a saw) and the top of the unit had rust from not post-treating the welds properly. A can of rust-inhibitor and spray paint took care of that, so 2 minor issues I was able to remedy myself without too much effort.My family of four has had to take refuge inside this shelter with our 3 dogs on multiple occasions and weve always felt safe within. I did take the liberty to bring power and hardwired Internet into the unit through a very small hole I drilled through the back of the unit, which would be useless, of course, if we were actually hit by a tornado, but it does help to have a small fan running in the heat of Texas while we wait for Gods handiwork to play out.I would, and do, recommend Torshel to anyone looking for a quality Tornado Shelter.

I purchased my shelter over a year ago. It has been one of the best purchases we’ve ever made! They were great about delivery and making sure it was installed correctly. Shipping was about six months if I remember correctly, but that wasn’t an issue for us at all. The shelter is outside and we haven’t had any issues with rust or defects in the material. It has been through multiple hurricanes and tornado warnings and has brought us so much peace of mind! Would highly recommend if you suffer from storm anxiety or live in an area where tornadoes are common!

About 4 years ago we had a shelter installed in our garage. When not used for tornado safety, we use it as a pool changing room. We can fit all 6 of us and two dogs (snugly) and by peering through the window, we can see the garage TV and see when the storm has passed. We stay dry, dont worry about getting blown away and have had no issues. I did lose the key to the dead bolt...grrr.

We live in an area that is prone to tornados. Recently a tornado pretty much demolished a near by town. We decided that we shouldnt wait any longer about a storm shelter. I did my research and decided on Torshel. I called to purchase three units. One for son and daughter and one for us. I was told it would be four or five weeks. They called and showed up in three weeks. They inspected the area where the shelter was to be installed. They worked hard and fast, they cleaned up the area before they left. At my daughters house, they inspected the area where the shelter was to be installed. The concrete area didnt meet their approval. They needed to place a form and pour concrete. They handled it all. Im glad they did their inspection. They could have installed it on the concrete that was there, but they chose safety over just getting it installed, after all we want and they want the shelter to do its job, when needed.If you are in the market for a shelter, please talk to them. You wont be disappointed.
