My daughter found Mr Electric online and shipped us an 18Kw backup generator during last Januarys (2024) disastrous freeze and power outage in Portland. Joey came to our house to help us install it, but we needed to modify our natural gas lines, and decided to get a larger generator. Joey gave us a bid and then patiently gave us all the time we needed to decide what we really wanted. After we collected bids from three other companies, some highly recommended, we came to the conclusion that Joeys offer was the most comprehensive and reasonable, so we got back in touch. Jose worked very quickly to lay the foundation and Joey made all the necessary connections, cleaning behind themselves as they worked. The result is a very neat, beautifully finished project, just waiting for NWNatural to get off their couch and complete the gas line. I couldnt be happier with their work, and highly recommend Mr Electric to anyone who needs work done right.

Its our first time working with Mr. Electric. They were very knowledgeable, prompt, and explained things clearly before starting the work. We had a problem with our smoke detectors and had to have them replaced and rewired. They also replaced our attic exhaust fan. Joey was exceptional to work with. Outstanding, prompt response to emergency situation. Hot water heater failed & needed to be replaced before arrival of guests staying in home. There was no hot water. They responded within 24 hours of my call and because we chose to install a Hybrid electric Heat Pump, additional work on the circuitry in home was necessary. The electrician GRANT PAGE worked in the attic during 90 degree weather, never complained & did everything necessary to get our system running. He coordinated his very meticulously installed work with the plumber & even persuaded them to shuffle their schedule (they were not going to come for another week!) so that they would complete our installation on the same day the MR. ELECTRIC service tech (Grant Page) was completing his job. Grant earned his company a lifelong fan!This guy should be promoted. He refused to guess where the new system electrical should go & contacted the providers of the heat pump getting exact measurements, circuitry & requirements to ensure the new system replacing my old GAS water heater would be up to code and meet our familys needs for years to come! Thank you MR ELECTRIC for your emergency response and for sending an outstandingly competent, professional individual, who was not only well trained, polite but a heck-of-a-nice guy as well! I needed a new wall outlet added close to my wall mounted TV so that I didn’t have to run an extension cord across the room and past the closet. Joe did an excellent job, and went above and beyond. In addition to expertly installing the outlet, he helped readjust the wall mount so everything was worked well together. He was professional and courteous. UPDATE: I hired Joe again to replace my very old smoke detectors and replace some outlets that were loose. I’m very pleased with everything and would definitely work with him again.

Our first electrician, Clayton, was very knowledgeable and easily came up with a solution to our problem. Our second electrician, Jon, was able to get straight to work and did a wonderful job. The cost of services overall was comparable to other places we checked, but we decided to go with Mr. Electric because we felt they had more knowledgeable/competent electricians. Overall, we had a great experience working with Mr. Electric from the start to finish of our project and would definitely use them again in the future.

A few weeks ago I had Mr. Electric come to my home and give me an estimate for installing the necessary wiring to use a portable generator in the event of a power outage. The people in the office were very friendly and helpful in scheduling my estimate. James (Jamey) came out as scheduled, discussed with me what I was thinking about doing and offered two alternatives that were significantly better than my plan. I scheduled the work. While I was waiting for my work to start I had a few questions (spread out over time). Again, everyone I interacted with on the phone was great. Jamey came out and did the work on schedule and was terrific to work with. He also helped me resolve an issue with some cables I had bought from a different source. While I was/am very satisfied at this point, the event that went way over an above for me is;A few weeks later, I was having a whirlpool tub installed and unfortunately the plumber that did the estimate missed the fact that there was no electricity available for the tub. This was discovered mid afternoon of the installation. A quick call to Mr. Electric and we were able to arrange for Jamey to come out later that afternoon and install the needed circuits. This was on about an hours notice.Mr. Electric clearly cares about customer service and satisfaction and they deliver very well on that commitment.Scot

This was an emergent situation. PGE contractors were placing a new power pole in our yard and switching the connection. Flickers and surges occured and then pops, flashes, and a blackened power strips. For 45 minutes I called 5 different electrical service providers trying to get someone here to coordinate with the PGE contractors. Staceys clear direct communication was a breath of fresh air. She asked questions to understand the issue and then communicated what she would need to do (check with people in the field) in order to let me know if they could help me. She called back promptly and asked for a commitment from me if she was going to rearrange someones schedule. I really appreciated that she was concerned both for me and for the folks in her company. Joey arrived, quickly assessed, communicated with the PGE contractors, and went through to ensure the house was safely OFF before power was restored. He then turned things back on and went through each area and checking for issues. Thankfully there were none. Weve had great service and also have recommendations for how to increase electrical safety in our home.

Our project was very challenging and had multiple parts. The electricians addressed all my concerns and were flexible during the project when some unforeseen issues were encountered during the project. Im very pleased with their workmanship.6. He did a thorough safety inspection, explained each deficiency he found and answered all my questions before beginning any work. He explained all costs up front and provided options on which items were urgent, which could be postponed, and which items (such as installing additional smoke detectors) I could do myself. He completed all the tasks I requested, relabeled any changed breaker panel slots and cleaned up any debris. I can not speak highly enough about this company. From the lady who did my scheduling to the electrician.So let me tell you, I was a typical pain in the butt customer. I got a bid, our budget did not allow all of it. I had to call in 3 or 4 times to adjust the work that will be performed. I had the work done almost 6 months later. Each time I called in the office staff was so incredibly helpful and kind. Never once did they get irritated with me and always took the time to explain everything. For a girl who knows nothing about electrical work, they did a lot of explaining.Now onto the electrician, he was prompt, very kind, very personable and took his job seriously and provided 120% with his customer service skills. Here I am being a pain in the butt customer again, the day he arrived, I had dirt coming in, I had retaining blocks coming in, I had multiple contractors coming in and out; I at the time was home by myself trying to keep it all straight. He was very patient with me. (I need patient, understanding people). At the time I was completely frazzled. I needed some electrical work done. I called many companies to get quotes. Most companies I called were not taking on any more residential jobs due to their work load or never received a call back. When I called Mr Electric I was very impressed with Rose, who was very friendly and outgoing and she was able to set up a free home estimate the following week.I have cancer and no immune system and when i asked our technician, jon, if he would mind wearing a mask, he happily did without question. Jon was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about all of the items I needed done. I received a quote on Monday and was able to get the work done on Tuesday.When Jon returned Tuesday he remembered to wear a mask. He explained what he was doing and why. He was very courteous of my son (who is special needs) asking him to cover ears when he used loud tools.Everyone I encountered was very friendly, courteous and helpful including Stacie the owner. I was very happy with the work that Kevin, Wanda and Joey did for us. We had a new electrical panel put in and that took some time. Four or five years ago the house was a flip and the young people who did the work were horrible. A lot of things were done wrong and some questions existed about what was actually done and the circuits had been labeled wrong. Tedious work. It isnt easy figuring out past work done by an amateur. The electricians worked on this plus other issues with a smile and were courteous, polite, friendly and respectful of our property and our home. When it was done and two of the electricians thought they could go home; we realized the heated floor wasnt working and they had to try to figure that out too. This was past the time to go home. It was Friday night and they were tired but they kept working, figured it out and still had a smile on their faces at the end of the day. Great Employees!There were some pricing issues I didnt agree with. I think they may be a bit high but I guess it is all worth it when the job is done well by great people. Scheduling is also done well by friendly staff.

I called Mr Electric because I had a electrical problems from a rat that eat my electrical wire under the house. I had other workers at the house cleaning my crawl space and insulating it. I needed to get the electrician at my house before everything was covered up. To my amazement they sent out Mark in about an hour. He did a fantastic Job fixing the problem and did some rewiring. I was 150% happy with his work. Outstanding. I will use this company and Mark anytime i have issues in the future.

AV Automotive Repair - we needed some serious code upgrades to our electrical box and our propane unit (we were switching providers and found out, ours was outdated by 12 years). They gave us multiple reasonable quotes, very communicative, friendly, and the whole process was a breeze (which, makes it 100 times easier on me being a business owner myself). They even were amazing at working with a third party (our new propane company was covering half the costs). I loved having the same tech from point A (free quote) to point B installation and repairs. That they do generator installs regularly and are a licensed dealer/installer also gives a lot of confidence they knew exactly what they were doing. Jamey and Ben did my install and did a good job completing all the work in a single day with minimal power outage.As an electrical engineer, I appreciated Bens (owners) willingness to let me watch to see how it was done. Mr. Electric saved the day! We needed an electrician last minute for an outdoor project that requires and outdoor outlet for a fountain pump. The whole project was put on hold until this could be resolved. I contacted 7 companies and Mr. Electric was the only one that moved schedules around to get someone to my house at 8 am the next day. Everyone told me 2-4 weeks just for a quote. The scheduler, Natalie, showed true concern and willingness to help solve my dilemma. Not only did they send someone the next day, but they sent two people and completed the project the same day! They were exactly on time and dealt with me only having 15 mins to explain the project. In 15 mins they understood the project, quoted it, and got my signature. Amazing! Clayton knew exactly what to do and partnered with my landscapers to get the trench for the conduit dug as quickly as possible. The entire project was done that day in 4.5 hours. I also appreciated the email appointment reminders and an electronic invoice the same day the work was completed. Delaying our outdoor project by 2 weeks+ would have been a big setback. I couldn’t be more pleased with Mr. Electric and would use again, and highly recommend.

I was lucky to come across Mr. Electric for a project we have going on at our home. Marc and Katrina have been really amazing. I love that they are professional, kind, clean working, know what they are doing and do it well. I don’t have to worry about my kids overhearing crude or foul language when they are here working or finding cigarette butts or energy drink cans around my yard like I have with other workers in the past. Marc has an eye for what he is doing and is able to make things look really nice (straight out of a magazine nice!) I am really pleased with his work and recommend him to anyone who needs any kind of electrical work done. I really wish everyone in all areas of construction and design were as great as Marc and Kristina have been. We will be using them for future projects.

Very responsive- of course we had an electricity issue at 9pm on a Friday night! But they answered right away and talked me through what could be the issue, helped me ensure there were no safety hazards, and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday morning. They offered me immediate service, but the emergency fee wasnt justified in my case. But its good to know it exists for a bigger issue! I was surprised to get someone on the phone at that hour. This is probably not the cheapest option out there, but I would say the service and expertise make it worth the cost. Benjamin was very kind, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely trust him with any electricity concerns in the future.

I had a 24 Kw Natural Gas Generac backup generator and an EV plug installed. My neighbor had the same work done and was quoted thousands more than I paid. John B did all of the electrical and some of the gas line setup. John B was very meticulous and kept me informed of everything that he was doing. Our electrical outage during the install was much much less than what my neighbor reported during their generator install. The generator weighs 500 pounds. My neighbors generator was moved by four men; my generator was handled by one man, Javoss McGuire, using rollers and a special cart designed by Generac. I was impressed with the quality and professionalism exhibited by John B and Javoss. I definitely will contact Mr. Electric of Hillsboro for future electrical work.

I called on Super Bowl Sunday about 8pm after our entire house lost power. After 30 minutes of my husband losing his mind, he had ran out of possible options I asked if I needed to call an electrician. He told me to go ahead and make the call, but dont be surprised if nobody answered while the game was going on. So as he took the entire breaker box apart I grabbed the phone. I was a little surprised when someone did answered. Within 5 minutes they had trouble shot the issue. We had power, and we didnt have to spend the rest of the night cold , in the dark, and packing groceries in ice. Some others may of came out and charged us out of the nose to simply flip a switch , or change out a main breaker that we didnt need. So grateful for the friendly service and my husband swore if we ever did any help again, he would not go anywhere else. Super grateful for the patience and help.

Complete honesty, incredible service, and fair pricing -- Major problem with HVAC and general circuits in my Washington County residence requiring service calls by the under warranty Furnace/A.C. supplier, PGE, and Mr. Electrics Mark Icban. Mark batted clean up and most solved the problems and did so rapidly, and with total competence, and even charged me less than I was expecting. Others on the Mr. E. team also added to the success through the hi efficiency and courtesy of the schedulers doing the phone work, but it was most notably the co. owner, Ben Pelster, who gave me his personal after hrs. tech advice that was critical to the trouble shooting (suggesting I cover the base with PGE first in this case) such that it mightve eliminated the need for Mr. Es service. That kind of honesty and commitment to serve a previously unknown customer sets an example for all business managers and their people to follow, in my opinion. When it comes to my electrical needs in the future my first call will always be to Mr. Electric of Hillsboro.

Arrived within 30 minutes of my requested time and phoned ahead of time. He was done in about 35 minutes. It would have taken me that long just to get up off the floor! My slight complaint was the cost, but I had agreed to the price before he started and I might not be aware of 2022 costs. The main thing is my wife is happy and I wasn’t stuck under the sink / on the floor!I have a minor electrical repair that I’ll probably have Mr Electric do in the future.

Corrina was great! She was very thorough and took the time to explain things. She installed a new outlet in my wall and even took care of another outlet in my kitchen that was set up incorrectly and didnt charge me extra. Over all the experience was positive. I would say my only complaint, and its very minor, was that my appointment had to be scheduled twice. In spite of that, they were very communicative about rescheduling which I appreciate. Ill definitely call Mr. Electric again in the future!

Excellent work done by Mark Icban and Karina. I am in the middle of a whole home remodel. Mark and Karina were the electricians on site. Both were professional and knowledgeable. I was impressed with Marks ability to figure out the existing wiring and to anticipate my needs. He rewired the main living space in the home beautifully, suggesting changes to the plans that will make my life easier and my home more beautiful. Karina also provided excellent work. She is kind and knowledgeable. She precisely placed the work and demonstrated an excellent understanding of my needs and what needed to be done to meet those needs. We hired Mr. Electric to replace under cabinet lighting that had gone out, trouble shoot a switch that was not working, and put can lighting in our living room. When I called the office to tell them what we needed they recommended a bid -which is free so that we could have everything ready and save money. Joey was knowledgeable and helped us decide what would work best. The day of the work he showed up with his apprentice perfectly on time and got started. Everything is above and beyond our expectations. I hired Mr. Electric because of reviews and we will be using Joey and their team from here on out. I would recommend them to anyone. It should also be noted that the switch that needed trouble shooting was looked at by another company over year ago. They seemed unsure of the issue, did a little fix that worked for a while but not permanently. Joey understood what was wrong and was able to describe the minor issue as well as easily solve it. His knowledge and expertise was so appreciated. From start to finish Mr. Electric went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you so much!!

He was also very informative in explaining how the system functions, as well as its care and maintenance.Joey Doray installed a great room floor outlet & under cabinet shop lights for me. He was very conscientious and detail-oriented. Not only were the finished results excellent, but he also discovered a potentially hazardous wiring mistake that a landscaper had installed underneath my house and he corrected it without any additional charge. I found this company through Yelp, and a recommendation from a fellow resident in my neighborhood. We had a hot tub that needed to be hooked into an existing circuit, and also have the wiring extended from where it had previously terminated. Our technician Ben was on-time, explained what he needed to do, and had it done quickly and efficiently. When a small problem came up with the hot tub (It was with the hot tub, nothing that he did), he returned quickly, and we quickly diagnosed the problem and had it up and running in a couple of minutes. Prices were very competitive with other electricians, and the company was able to get someone out here in the tight time frame I needed (try telling your wife that the new hot tub wont be ready because I couldnt get an electrician out to finish the install for a few days. Doesnt work.) I would definitely call on him and Mr. Electric again.
