    I bought a 100-year-old two-flat in 2020 and live on the first floor while renting the second floor. I’ve worked with several plumbers since moving in, and Joe has by far been one of the best and the ONLY plumber I have continuously used. He always gets back to me promptly and rarely has to reschedule, unlike other plumbers with whom I’ve worked. I appreciate that he thoroughly explains things and lets me learn from him as he works. I also like that he knows code and remains pragmatic - presenting all options and explaining code but starting with a lower cost, sensible option first. On a side note, Joe also has great taste in music, and I enjoy jamming with him on larger projects.

    We were having problems with our new bathroom sink draining. I called Joes Plumbing and scheduled an appointment. The next day, Joe and his apprentice came out and assessed the situation. Joe determined that our issue was indicative of a larger problem, a drum trap. Apparently, drum traps were common in older Chicago homes and tend to cause water backup in sinks and tubs. Joe explained the process to address the drum trap but provided immediate service to the clog. They rodded the sink drain and were able to remove a good portain of the blockage. I was very impressed with their level of professionalism and thoroughness. I would definitely recommend this company if you are looking for a plumber with knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail.

    Joe is fantastic to work with. We reached out last week and he got back to me the same day! Very nice guy, great communication, and very skilled at his profession. He was able to explain to my husband exactly what was going on so we could both understand it. He rodded our sewer lines for us and cleared up our issue the very next day! Thank you, Joe! His price was fair and he didnt try to up charge us on additional unnecessary services like the big box companies do. Im so happy we could support a local business. We will definitely be calling Joe again in the future!

    Joe did a great job for us. Had a toilet go bad on a weekend with the house full of out of towners in for a wedding.He came out on a Sunday without the high Sunday rate you might expect. He is a hard worker, and a nice guy. He was able to replace our old toilet and get thing going again at a reasonable price.

    A belated review of outstanding service. Joe came out in December of ‘23 to solve a mystery leak we had and immediately identified our toilet as needing repair or replacement. He installed the new toilet and problem solved! Added bonus of a great personality and dog friendly. I plan to call Joe for any future plumbing issues.

    Was having a major issue with main drainpipe was clogged and water was backing up in the basement sink. I reached out to Joe and was able to get response right away and appointment scheduled when I wanted .. He showed up on time and explained everything to me what was going on and what he recommends. he cleaned out the main drain with his partner Mark. Both are so professional and amazing. I had never had anyone explaining their work in so much detail that can be understandable to anyone without any plumbing knowledge.     My 30+ year bath tub faucet had a leak. I tried to fix it and failed. I called Joe. He came over; assessed and explained the situation. The faucet needed to be replaced. The bathroom is small and tight so I was obliged to assist and I was honored. To observe a consummate tradesman ply his craft was truly mesmerizing! The work was perfect and the price was right!     If, like us, you are completely overwhelmed with the process of finding a plumber, look no further. I found Joe through recommendations in a neighborhood Facebook group when we discovered our garbage disposal was leaking. I’m glad we took the advice of our neighbors. Joe is great. He swapped out our disposal and also identified a couple of other issues before they turned into big issues. He tries to find the most cost effective solutions first, which I know we can all appreciate. He was even able to fit us into his schedule a couple of days sooner than originally planned when he finished another job ahead of schedule. We need to have a couple of other things checked out in our home, and it’s a relief to know we now have a friendly go-to plumber! We’ll be scheduling him again soon!

    You can stop searching now - Just call Joes Plumbing, Inc.I had a terrible back up of sewage in my commode and bathtub. It was awful. I called Joes Plumbing and Joe and Mark came out same day to assess the job. Joe took a systematic approach to the problem, reccommending a potential simple fix first and progressing through each possible scenario until they had solved the problem over 2-days. Joe kept me updated on cost implications at each step and explained to me in detail what he was doing and why. I can not reccommend this team enough.

    First, Joes Plumbing actually answered the phone when I called. They were quick and easy to make an appointment with, and they called in the morning to ask if they could show up earlier than the appointment (which was absolutely fine with me)... and true to their word, they showed up when they said they would!Joe himself came to fix my sink drain - he was quick and efficient, he checked in with me when he found a problem that was going to increase the cost of the work, before he actually started down that path.     I had an amazing experience hiring Joe to install two toilets in my condo. When I first called, I was expecting a generic greeting or an answering machine. Joe answered the phone with such great energy and enthusiasm (I was like, hum... this guy really likes his job!). He was generous with offering advice and recommendation even before I decided to work with him. He even told me how to save money for what I needed!Joe was very responsive with text and phone conversations, and was professional about his work. He came well prepared, and paid attention to details during the job (he made sure to clean up after the job as well). I had lots of anxiety because my old toilets were causing water damage to my neighbor downstairs. Joe was very humorous, and his attitudes and knowledge eased my anxiety. I felt that I was in good hands as soon as he started working. He was patient with my questions; he spent time explaining his assessment of my old toilets and the steps that he was taking to install the toilet. (I got an unexpected, free plumbing lesson!) I appreciated Joes transparency, professionalism and passion for his job. I paid at least $500-700 fewer than other quotes that I received from other plumbers.I am extremely pleased with the quality of Joes service.     I noticed Joes repair truck in the alley and asked if he could check something out quick for me. He immediately responded, did a quick look and went right to work. The issue was more involved, but he had the tools and parts in the truck and expertise in his head. Issue fixed. I am happy. And loved that he had an apprentice which he coached the entire time. We will need this trade for awhile - glad to see him growing the technicians.

    Joe has been amazing! He really went above and beyond to help us. We had a faucet break, but with a very complicated problem as the valves to turn off the faucets were inside of the wall and not under the sink. Joe came out and figured out what needed to be done, he installed new faucets and valves down below so we had a normal sink system. He worked so hard and even stopped by the next day to help us with something small. On top of that, Joe has been easy to work with, timely, responsive and just overall a great guy.     Joe did a great job replacing my broken water heater and some attached piping. After my water heater started spraying water everywhere, Joe responded quickly to my message and was able to get out to my house and diagnose the issue. He was able to source a new water heater quickly and installed it well. He also explained to me how everything worked, so if there was ever an issue in the future I would know how things worked.     I was extremely pleased with all aspects of my experience with Joe’s Plumbing. I called on a Saturday morning, and set up an appointment for Monday. Joe said he would come earlier if time allowed. When I told him what was wrong, he was able to tell me right away what needed to be done, and even gave me an estimate. He sent me a message around 2:00 that same day saying he could be there at 3:00. Joe was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable.     Joe was quick to reply and provide an estimate over the phone, which most of the other companies I spoke with would not do without an onsite evaluation. He originally said he could be out in two days but when I asked if he could fit us in the earlier (kitchen faucet completely broken) he said he would be there the next day. I told him I would buy the faucet and he provided a few options to pick from the store so I had the hardware when he arrived. Day of service he was running late, not a big deal because he was fitting us in on a busy day, but he gave me multiple updates on when he would arrive which was much appreciated.     Had a clogged kitchen drain, Joe came the same day, even early at that, which is great cause I couldnt even get any other service to even call me back. Joe took a look at the sink and let me know that the last guy piped it wrong. Joe explained every step and we got an unclogged drain. Turned out it was pretty major, definitely would not have been able to clear it with out Joe. Joe also fixed the lasts guys piping and let me know that there are some other plumbing projects I need to work on.100% recommend Joe he is great!

He diagnosed the source of the leak, and was upfront in saying that it may be a couple days before he could get to fixing it (I understand that he has a busy schedule, and this is very short notice).     I just used Joes Plumbing for fixing a toilet tank leak based on recommendations from a friend of mine and my realtor, he did a great job for a fair price. He gave me a discount on fixing the other 2 toilets to prevent leaking in the future because he also clearly explains what the issues and fixes. Unfortunately, the leaky toilet tank was busted, so Joe came back over on Sunday, haul away the old toilet, purchase a new one and installed it on the 3rd floor by himself, no elevators. Awesome job!

    Joe came out this summer and replaced my shower kit. He left but then there was an issue where it was acting all up. I was nervous not sure what to do. I called their office hoping he could make it out by Monday because I was going to take pictures to put my place on the market. We moved into a new house and were surprised to find a leaky / broken pipe within the first month and were fearful that it would cause us financial woes.     I originally hired a handyman to remove and install a new toilet. He stated that the hole for the floor where the toilet goes is too big and that the toilet will always be rocking. I finally realized that I could not deal with it anymore and decided to hire a plumber- Joe the Plumber. He came out and a relatively easy fixing of a rocky toilet turned out to be a bigger job than what was expected. But he handled it like a champ. He took photos, kept me updated on what is going on, and told me step by step what was wrong and how the was going to fix it. The wax ring is something that he said that he never saw before. The flange was broken so he had to obtain another one and it took a few days to get them and make another appointment for Joe to come back. No worries- I had another bathroom. Joe got several different ones (different sizes as well) to see which would be best to fit my toilet. He put a better quality flange and a new wax ring and fitted it so it wouldnt rock, he put a new water line to the toilet, put new bolts and caps, even fixed the uneven water tank that the old handyman put on, and cleaned up all of the mess. He did a great job- fixed the rocky toilet and made sure that it wouldnt happen again by fitting it properly. I definitely recommend! Thanks so much!
