    We are very pleased with the product and service provided by Safe-T-Shelter. Ashley in the office was great at making sure everything went smoothly. I called her at the end of the day on Tuesday, and Donnie and William came to do the install on that same Friday morning. The installers were professional, on time, fast, and gave the full white glove service.We went with the 4x8, and it is plenty big enough for our family of 5 plus pets. For reference, the lady in the photo is 6 feet tall. I would highly recommend getting your shelter here.

    I recently purchased a 4x8 residential safe room/ storm shelter from Safe-T-Shelter after educating myself on the various options and comparing companies.Many of the companies hardware and materials are similar but, what set Safe-T-Shelter apart from their competitors is their customer service.From the first call with Dennis, to Ashley and the talented installers Donnie and Chris, I experienced outstanding customer service. This included the ease of doing business; answering questions and explaining the sequence of events from delivery to installation. After couple hours to complete the install, Chris and Donnie made sure I was satisfied with their work before they left.     When we decided to build in Chelsea we knew we wanted a tornado shelter. After researching several companies it was very apparent that Safe-T-Shelter was far and away the best company.     Just received my 4’x7’ storm shelter this morning. Couldn’t be happier with the quality and craftsmanship of this unit. The installation guys (Charles and James) were great! From the time they arrived till the time they completed installation was under two hours. And that’s with them having to listen to me discuss everything from motorcycles to hunting.

    I love my shelter. I got a 5×10. The entire process was easy and everyone I dealt with was super nice. On time for appointments and I was kept very informed throughout the process. There was 1 mistake made in production which is naturally going to happen sometimes but what matters is Lisa at Safe T shelter went above and beyond and made it right and make sure i was happy. Everyone I dealt with from the office to the installers were very nice and wanted to male sure I was happy. Finally I have peace of mind for the storms that may come in the future! Bonus, they cleaned up every single bit of garbadge etc from the install. Even picked up the extra concrete jobless from the concrete pad.

    Yall. I dont write reviews. They earned it. From our initial phone call to the installers driving away things could not have been better. We visited the facility and Sylaina gave us a tour of the facility, talked with us about what we wanted and how they could meet any needs we had. We ordered from them on the spot. Their product was better, better priced and they didnt add on hundreds of dollars delivery fees. And for our need, they put the door on the end instead of the side - zero extra. Sylaina and Lisa kept perfect communication, answered every question we had.The shelter was ready in the time estimated, delivery and install were set at a perfect time. Chris and Donnie arrived on schedule and could not have been better! They wanted us to be perfectly satisfied and there was no way they would allow anything different. They were able to take our shelter over a 4 step up (pre-planned with pictures and verified by them on site) and again zero extra charge. They were genuine, professional, courteous and their whole mission was clearly to make sure we were happy. We were and are. They earned a 5-star review. You cannot get better than this yall.     We just had ours installed on Tuesday. My wife Wendy and I have wanted to have a storm shelter installed since the devastation of the April 27th 2011 tornado outbreak. Except for a couple of roof tiles, our home in Harvest Alabama was luckily spared major damage. Since that day, we decided that we had to get a strong shelter installed in our home.We finally had money for a shelter, and Wendy and I looked far and wide for quality. We heard great reviews of Safe-T-Shelter and decided to contact them. Wendy spoke to Liz Schmidt, who was a pleasure to deal with! She was courteous and very knowledgeable.     June 2024 Update: I recently moved and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Safe-T-Shelter was able to move my storm shelter. Donnie and Chris were very careful and informative when they removed the shelter from my old home, and transported it to my new home. I had mapped out specifically where I needed the shelter to be placed so that everything else would fit in my new garage. They placed it precisely where I taped off the outline for the shelter. They made sure it was exactly where I needed it to be before installing it permanently. Donnie and Chris were very friendly, professional, polite, and are superb representatives of this excellent company.     We are new to Alabama and tornadoes. The whole idea of a tornado terrifies us. We waited for the Spring Home and Garden show at the Von Braun Center. We met with Dustin from Safe-T-Shelter at the show and he was very professional and polite. At no point did we feel any pressure to purchase a shelter. We got the pricing from Dustin but were not able to afford it (the 5x10 indoor) just yet. We also attended Fall Home and Garden show at the Von Braun Center and once again met up with Dustin. He was nice and Dustin recognized me from the previous show and we chatted once again. I mentioned that we were saving up for a shelter but still it was just out of our reach. We finally got the funds together for the shelter. I drove to Safe-T-Shelters offices in Hartselle, Alabama and Lisa was so nice and gave us a tour of the fabrication plant where they build these awesome shelters. We purchased the 5x10 indoor and scheduled the install. While at their offices Dustin came out and said hi to us and thanked us for our purchase. Our shelter was installed by Brandon, Caleb and Jeff. Talk about a white Glove experience! I had mentioned to them that my garage has Epoxy flooring and we were nervous that it may get marred during the installation. Brandon took every precaution to make sure nothing would happen to my flooring. They got the shelter installed and I must say not a spec of dust was out of place when they finished. Caleb went around and wiped down the entire shelter and then proceeded to touch up the paint where there were minor chips. It looks perfect!     You can’t put a price on peace of mind! But you can invest in a Safety Shelter and trust me we now have peace 24/365 in our new barn! We work every day in our barn and when storms come we are about a mile from our homes storm shelter! There is no greater feeling than knowing we are safe while working and also our guests staying in our barn apartment also have a safe place too!     If I could give Safe-T-Shelter Storm Shelters 10 stars I would. It all started with me researching about 30 different companies. After the very QUICK response on Facebook messenger, I knew they were one of my top choices for a storm shelter! After comparing prices and speaking to someone personally over the telephone, we knew their company was the BEST and CHEAPEST option! It took around 6 weeks to get the shelter installed (which was a very quick turnaround) and the two gentleman who installed the shelter were very professional and nice.     Everything from shopping, purchasing, delivery and installation went off without a hitch. We bought the 4x5 base model since it was going in our garage and wouldn’t be exposed to the elements.     It took about 6 months to get the shelter but well worth it. The crew was on time and installed the unit within 45 minutes and got it into a tight space without issue. Really well done!Not a complaint here, but the only thing that could make the experience better is a monthly update about the construction process — an email or text or some other sort of notification. We went for months without hearing anything so we werent sure where we were in the process. That said, would definitely use them again. Great, local company!

    I had been contemplating purchasing a storm shelter since I am new to North Alabama. I attended the Home Show and Safe-T-Storm had a booth with one of their storm shelters on display. There were others who were also advertising their shelters, but after talking to one of the owners, I made a decision to go with Safe-T-Storm. They were very personable and did not make a hard pitch, but their honest approach was very effective. They had a discount promotion at the Home Show and I was told that they would honor the discount after the show. I can honestly say that the entire staff was accommodating, professional and personable. When I went to the office, Sylania took us on a tour of the plant, showed us various size shelters, gave us realistic time frames and answered a slew of questions. She was terrific!! Brandon came out and explained the specifics of the shelter and made a determination of the best location in my garage. He displayed the same professional/personable demeanor as others. I actually made a second visit to the company and Lisa showed me different size shelters, since I wasnt certain of the size that I wanted to purchase. After making my decision, Caleb Bower installed the shelter on May 22nd. He did a phenomenal job. After the installation, he did a walk-through, touched-up some areas that had been scratched in the loading/unloading process and explained safety precautions to avoid pinched fingers. He made certain that I understood the operation of the door locks and that I was totally satisfied with the installation, which I was satisfied. He explained the necessity of lubricating certain areas to ensure continued operation. He did a few extras for me, i.e. fish an extension cord down the vent and place felt weather stripping around the door to buffer any clanging noise. There was only one thing that concerned me, but it had nothing to do with the installation. It was the handle on the inside of the shelter. It was very awkward for me to maneuver. Sylania took care of this issue immediately. Donnie and William came out to put on a new handle that was a thousand times better and much more easier for me to handle. They too were excellent! Both of them demonstrated how to use the handle and before they left, they ensured that I could operate it. I know this is a long post, but I want to let folks know about this wonderful company and their employees. They truly have a genuine care and concern for their customers.They do what they say they will do and they stand behind their word. I recommended them to my neighbor, who also purchased a shelter from them. Trust me, you will not be disappointed in purchasing a storm shelter from Safe-T-Storm Shelters.P.S.     I picked this company because there were many great reviews and I was not disappointed. I appreciated that the pricing was clear on the website including the installation and I could get basic information without having to make a phone call. When I called to ask a few more questions and to get the ball rolling Lisa that I spoke to was extremely nice and helpful. She was even able to provide me with some additional information about the alabama tax credit. Once we ordered the shelter it came in a lot sooner than expected which was nice. The two gentlemen that did the installation were very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent experience and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this company.

    The Englewood Hulls Volunteer Fire Dept decided to purchase a shelter for the inside of the station a few months ago. We liked the design of the Safety Shelter and it’s just what we wanted.     Safe-T-Shelters cares about the details and its customers. In March of 2012 we purchased an above ground shelter, installed in our garage. We are well satisfied with our shelter; fortunately we have been blessed without a tornado hit. We sat out a few near misses in our shelter since its installation. The people of Safe-T-Shelters are excellent - the sales team and its process; the installation team; the office team. First class. Point of this review is that eleven years later, Safe-T still looks after us, even with the little things. I misplaced our keys to the shelter; phoned up Safe-T, and received a new set of keys in the next days mail! No charge; no hesitation. The lady that took my call was happy to send them out!     Buying a storm shelter is an important decision. I was born in Kentucky and have lived most of my life in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Tornados have been a way of life in all these places. But now my wife and I are a little older and crawling under a desk or hiding under mattresses for every tornado warning isnt pleasant. We researched several shelter options and Safe-T-Shelter was the obvious choice: robust but simple door design, the white color is far more inviting, and the same people who sell you the shelter also come and install it to your satisfaction. That was the clincher for us. Every step of the sales process was facilitated by friendly and caring people. Charles and Jeff our installers, went above and beyond to make sure every detail was the way we wanted it.     I purchased a 4x6 ft. Safety and Storm shelter for my daughter and grandkids because they did not have a safe place to go when tornado warnings were issued. It was installed yesterday in her garage and I could not be more pleased with my purchase. The shelter was very nice with plenty of room inside to be comfortable. The two men that installed it were totally professional, very courteous, cleaned up their work area after the installation and before they left they showed me the features for security if used as a safe room and pointed out how to use it. After showing me how to use the door and lock in case of a tornado then he ask me to do it by myself to make sure I knew exactly how to secure the door. I researched storm shelters for months and compared them but hands down SafeT Shelter was the best built it had large covered air vents on top had three heavy duty bolt locks on the door and the best feature is the door opens to the inside of the building so the entrance can be opened even if debris is against it. I want to say something about the office staff, they were wonderful so thank all of you for a great purchasing experience and by the way the price wasvery reasonable with no hidden cost.

    Of all the Shelter places we looked at, these folks are the best in my opinion. They have been specializing in building quality shelters for 25+ years. We first made the short drive to their facility and was able to see several different styles. The staff was very helpful and polite in pointing out all the options for door and seating placement. They were helpful in understanding the different features on an indoor shelter vs outdoor shelter. They clearly discussed all the associated costs, delivery, etc. They properly set your expectations on expected completion date. We had ours delivered and installed in our Detach Garage.     We just had our 4x8 foot storm shelter installed on July 22, 2021. We cannot say enough positive things about the quality, price, and customer service of this company. We have experienced several close calls with tornadoes in Chilton County during the past two years. The anxiety of not having a safe place to take shelter, especially with several small grandchildren, was more than I could handle. With this shelter, I feel such a peace of mind in knowing that we will be protected. I researched several companies, and kept coming back to Safe-T-Shelters because of their great reviews as well as their personable customer service reps who answered MANY questions for us.     I have one of these shelters in my garage. In fact, its the second one because I had one installed in my previous house as well. Secure, well made, great customer service.
