I had a great experience with Turn Electric. Steve handled a breaker replacement along with some rewiring.Steve took the time to explain in detail what the issue was and what he was going to do to fix it. I was experiencing frequent electrical trips, and it turned out that the old breaker was malfunctioning and some of the wiring needed updating to meet safety standards. Steve walked me through the problem, explained how he would replace the breaker and upgrade the wiring, and answered all my questions.He was fair and honest about the pricing, and I felt like I got a really good deal for the work done. What stood out was his willingness to come out on a Sunday, which was a huge help given my schedule. Steve was professional, efficient, and ensured everything was done perfectly. We called for service on a Sunday & Steve was able to come the next day at 0800 to fix our issue with a bad receptacle or circuit. It was difficult to find the cause of the problem, but Steve didnt give up & resolved it after checking each receptacle for 3 hrs! In the end, he only recommended completing what was necessary to keep the cost down & even showed my husband the proper way to replace future receptacles! Steve did a great job! In addition, he is very personable and the cost was very reasonable!

I called Steve at Turn Electric at about 8:30 am. Left a message. He returned my call within about 10-15 minutes. He arrived here about 10:15 am. I thought I had a broken circuit breaker after a piece of power equipment suddenly stopped working. Steve pulled the circuit breaker out and showed me that the connection was intact and that the problem was in the line. We went to the outlet where the equipment was plugged in and he found a short in the outlet box. Once he fixed that everything worked. Steve had a very carefully mapped out plan to isolate the problem. He explained each step as he went along. After each step he tested that the circuit was intact.I really appreciate having someone who has lots of experience and can isolate and fix the problem in a logical order. Steve is very warm and friendly and when I need further electrical help, I won’t hesitate to use him again or recommend him to others

I called Steve about a couple of electrical issues I wanted to address. First off, my panel looks incredibly old and it has connections for 3 pool pumps and a heater for an in-ground jacuzzi that was filled in with cement 40 years ago, long before I purchased the house. And 2nd to see if it were possible to split a circuit that covers too many sockets in the house.Steve was completely honest. He was able to see that the circuit in question was wired with Romex and thus he would have to open up walls to run new wires to split it up. He said it would be very pricy. His advise was to split the load connected to the sockets of the circuit. Which is totally possible.Regarding the panel, he pointed out that the panel itself was not overloaded and had plenty of room to expand. So no need to be concerned about upgrading the panel at this time.Steve was incredibly honest and helpful Rather than spin my concerns into unnecessary work. He honestly gave me free advise on my situation.I have bookmarked his web page and if another electrical concern arises, Steve will be the first person I call.

Very Pleased with Steves work, honesty, price, and trustworthiness. Steve walked me through the entire process and I felt like he was trying to educate me the entire time. He was a complete life-saver!We came home on Friday night to a hot house. The AC wasnt working, and turning on the light blew out multiple LED lights in and out the house. Some outlets were working so we had fans on all night but this is the Valley in the Summer so much more of this and it would have been a struggle. On Saturday I called Steve and made an appointment for Monday since I would be busy until night . But I got home early around 7:30PM on that Saturday and Steve was able to come by and debug. After a thorough investigation and troubleshooting, he found that the neutral wire was hot and multiple light fixtures were receiving 240V instead of the normal 120V which is why the AC was shut off and lights were burnt. Steve re-grounded the neutral wire as a temporary solution to bring the serviced Voltage back to 120V and get our Air Conditioning back running. Diagnosing the actual cause of the issue could be in the attic or walls and who knows how long that could take. Was charged $200 for the hour long investigation and quick fix. He said we could keep the temporary fix for as long as we wanted, but offered a compromise of coming back on Monday and investigating for an hour at his rate of $200/hr and if its more complicated to find (and thus more pricy to fix) we could just leave it as is. We took him up on it and on Monday he found the issue which was a burnt out neutral connection in a junction box in the attic that was touching the housing and thus became a hot wire. He also found that the same neutral wire was servicing multiple rooms and outlets, one of which being the air conditioning units FAU. He was able to replace that section of the neutral wire and solve the issue. But the neutral wire being overloaded may cause the same issue down the line. He recommended that when we could afford it, he could separate the neutrals from the service box and run a dedicated romex to the FAU and that would be a permanent solution. Was charged $300 for the work, material, and threw in a replacement for an original outlet that the FAU was plugged into.So all in all this cost me $500 to fix the issue which I thought was very fair. Would definitely call Steve again if any issues ever arise!

Consistently great!I had a Costco delivery this morning of a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, my 1960s home had an original 250 v that was outdated so the dryer could not be connected.I searched for an adapter but was told they do not make adapters for that specific pattern. That is when I decided to change out the outlet and called Turn Electric. I spoke with Steve told him what I needed and sent him photos of the old outlet and the new plug He told me he could do the job that day after he finished a job, he was currently working on. Throughout the day, he called me with updates.When he showed up, he remembered my house from seven years ago. He was the same personable and humorous character as I remembered. This time, he brought his son who was very friendly. They made a great team. Together, Steve and his son completed the job quickly.Pricing was reasonable for the speedy service, responsiveness, quality of work and reliability. I am very happy that I remembered to call Steve for this electrical job.If you are looking for an honest electrician, who will explain to you the process of the job he is completing, I highly recommend Steve.

After doing some research, I decided to give Turn Electric a try. My call was immediately answered by Steve. I needed to update an outlet to prepare for a new dishwasher installation. Steve was so polite, and he made sure that he was clear on what I needed; and then provided a reasonable price. There is no one else but STEVE that I will have work on electric in my home or any of my clients’ homes. Back in March I had him install a substantial amount of new electrical fixtures in our home and we were incredibly pleased with his professionalism, attention to detail, work product, and price. He talks you through all possible options so that you are aware of what he will be doing in your home and there are no surprises. He talked me out of unnecessary electrical work! Who else has that kind of honesty? I have had far more expensive electricians in in the past and wasn’t nearly as happy with the work as I was with Steve.

I highly recommend Steve for any home electrical repair! Our house had 3-4 rooms/areas that the lights were not turning on and 3 outlets with no power. Steve responded right away and came out to see what was wrong the very same day. Upon further inspection, he discovered that one of our circuit breakers needed to be replaced and that there was an electrical short circuit that he needed to find/discover. He came back 2 days later and with very thorough and meticulous investigation, he was able to locate and solve the problem/issue. It seemed like a daunting task but Steve was determined, very knowledgeable, and very skilled. He will also teach you a lesson or two, that’s for sure! Very enthusiastic and walked us through what his process was the whole way through our project.We needed switches rearranged and fixed, and the portion of house they were in wasn’t quite wired right to begin with, he still managed to get to the bottom of it and fix everything we needed.Took about two hours to get everything situated, involved rewiring 6 switches and again it was a mystery to diagnose the issue, but Steve found the way.He’s eager to teach as he goes and I did learn a thing or two watching his process. He was able to come check out our electric issue the day we called him, did a thorough job checking all our outlets for the short, and restored electricity to a portion of our house that weve been struggling to figure out for a while. He also installed our EV charger outlet. Hes really great because he is reliable, quick, fair in pricing, and explains how things work so you understand. What we also appreciate was that he gave us some tips to help save us on a few costly purchases we were considering doing in regards to our charger. We moved into our home a few years ago. After many months struggling with the electricians our home warranty group would send out, we were lucky to find Steve through Yelp. About a year ago Steve was able to fix a broken doorbell and a non-functioning GFC outlet. We called him again today regarding other outlet issues. Both times that he provided his services not only did he fix the issues, but he explained what was happening and provided us with options on how to best address them. Even beyond his electrical expertise, Steve is just an all around great guy. We have recommended Steve/Turn Electric to my husbands boss a few months ago. I called Steve on a weekend after receiving an astronomical quote from another company. Steve arrived at my house literally 10 minutes later for a free consultation and estimate. He immediately recognized the manufacturer of my very old electrical panel and understood the complex sub-panel set up that was installed before I purchased my home. He came back just a few days later to install outlets before drywall is put up, left the job in the exact condition requested by the drywall installers, and arranged to return free of charge to finish up the installation after the drywall. My electrical system kept flipping on and off. My refrigerator was leaking because the power kept going out. I was feeling very overwhelmed and scared of what the work would entail and cost. Finally, I started to research the possible electricians and came across Steve at Turn Electric. He asked me to take a picture of my electrical panel and said he would call me back after he received it. When I didnt send the picture within the time frame I told him, he called to make sure everything was okay with me. I was delayed at work, got home, took the picture and sent it to him. Within a minute or less, he returned my call with partial good news. I didnt need an upgrade to the panel, he just saved me $5000. He arrived within 15 minutes from our call ready to investigate my flipping and power outage problem. He did too! One of the breakers was dead or just about dead. He replaced that and I had an electrical plug, GFI, in the kitchen that has been out also. He replaced that one also. He did it all and for a fraction of some of the other quotes I had received in the past. One electrician wanted to open up my walls just to look for the problem and charge me over $1000 without the price for the fix AND he wasnt going to repair the walls. WOW!I highly recommend Steves company. Im a satisfied customer and truthfully, thats a hard task for most trades people to do. Thank you, Steve and Daniel (his son).

I never fully trust myself to handle electrical issues, and this time I was very very right to have Steve come help. Friendly, prompt service (hard to come by these days) and he even took time to let me know exactly what he was doing and how/why he was doing it. Service by Steve from Turn Electric was beyond exceptional. Upon calling and giving him a brief summary of what needed to be done with my electrical needs, he explained what he thought needed to be done and gave an estimate over the phone. He made sure I was comfortable with the estimate before coming over to see the issue which I appreciated since I didnt want to waste his time and vice versa. Before arriving, he called to let me know when he was on his way since I was coming from work. He arrived earlier than confirmed and waited patiently in the scorching heat. The problem turned out to be bigger than what I thought and Steve provided a solution that was very genuine and honest with a reasonable price. He did not pressure me to do this and that as most companies would do. He gave advice that Ill eventually need to re-wire my house but can happen in the long run. The 20+ experience Steve has really showed through his explanation of the problem and seeing how he worked. Plus an added bonus, I got to know Steve personally as well. I called Turn Electric because I was having some recessed lighting issues. Steve was ready to come out right away. He came to the house and diagnosed the problem and while at it he found some other issues with the breaker box which I had overlooked. He was able to fix all issues right away and didnt upsell anything. As a matter of fact, the issue with the recessed lights ended up being something I could easily fix myself and instead of him fixing it and charging me, he told me what I needed to replace and saved me money in the process. Overall, Steve was great.

I called Steve from Turn Electric today regarding a problem with an electrical outlet in our house. He came after work hours to diagnose and explain what the problem was and gave a free estimate on how much it would cost to fix it. The price was fair and he did a great job fixing the outlet.I would like to be clear with people reading this review, a lot of electricians out there will charge you to just come out to check out the problem that you have and give you an estimate. Some will even charge an hours work rate just to do that which can be around a couple of hundred bucks. Steve came after business hours and explained what the problem was and gave a free quote. I only had to pay for the actual work done. The feeling that I got from him was that he was an honest guy that does a great job at a fair price. He doesnt try to price gouge or try to recommend any extra work that is not necessary. It felt like I was dealing with a good neighbor. Looks like I found a go to guy for my electrical needs. Had multiple issues with losing power in the kitchen. I called Turn Electric based on Yelp reviews. Steve came over within hours and worked on the problem. He then proceeded to show me that the outlets were now working properly. However the next day the power went off again. I called Steve and again he was quick and responsive. Turns out that the previous electrician did not use the best judgment when updating the electric panel so it was draining power. He gave me my options as to how to move forward. Although I had to pay for this service also, it was the right decision as the problem has not reoccurred since then and seemed to solve the same issue I was having in the living room.

Update 10/29/2019Steve from Turn Electric is the best. We needed additional electrical work done such as replacing porch lights and switches. He did excellent work. He showed up on time and was knowledgeable, friendly and fast.Last year - We had a fire in our backyard that fried one of our electrical boxes that provided electricity to our pool and to our fountain and was a conduit to 2 additional electrical boxes. We got a few estimates and Turn Electric was the only one who was confident he could fix the problem without having to dig up pipes which would have cost thousands of dollars. Steve was able to fix all 3 electrical boxes in less than 4 hours. He did a fantastic job. He was also just a lovely guy and I highly recommend him.

I was in the middle of upgrading my switches in my home to smart switches when I ran into a snag. After installing the switches, I was no longer getting power to my lights even though I had power on my feed and neutral side. Being an automotive technician, I went down the rabbit hole as far as I could go based upon my general knowledge of electrical circuits, but alas, my home wiring defeated me. It was time to call in someone that works on this type of electrical systems day in and day out. After speaking with Steve, we arranged for him to come by the next morning. He actually arrived early and was able to quickly diagnose my issue as well as educate me as to what it is that he found and why the fault existed. He was able to correct the fault as well as get rid of some annoying 3 way wiring that bothered me and install and check function on my new switches for me all before he left. His pricing was more than fair and I appreciate that he took a simpler, but still effective repair approach whereas other electricians would have likely charged me more by going up into my attic and start running new wires. Steves your guy for honest, straight forward electrical service.

Steve came over after we had lost power in rooms. Breaker kept tripping. Steve took apart about 14 outlets looking for the problem. We had wiring done about 10 years ago now to find out it was done awfully. After 3 hours of diagnosing and realizing the issue is behind tile we decided to run 2 new lines from the panel to separate the Kitchen from the Garage. Over 18 outlets on one circuit. Steve brought in Joe from Jays J Electric to assist in the pulling of wires and hook up to main panel. They got it done in one day and a full day it was. Will call again for Turn Electric to help me with an outdoor hook up when the build is ready.

Steve is it. Dont look further, call Steve. I live in AZ and found good reviews on Steve so I called him. My tenants told me 1/2 the house lost power. He was available to check it out and 2 hrs latter he told me that there was no power at the meter. It could be the power lines that where bad or corrosion on the lines after they connect to the house or a bad meter base. He gave me a few options on how to proceed, so after reviewing the options we agreed to start by called DWP since it would not cost me anything. Steve left my house and did not charge me anything after investing his time. NOBODY does that anymore, they only roll after the service fee is agreed upon. His review on the issues and how to deal with them was spot on. DWP did find bad lines coming down from the pole and corrected that.Thanks Steve.

I’m going to begin and end this review by saying that Steve did great work and that I recommend him as an electrician. We were able to make a next-day appointment with him to replace some faulty wiring and we’re happy with the work and the price. Here’s the thing about Steve, though: he doesn’t abide by boundaries. When my wife made the appointment over the phone he got into some of his personal information. He texted first thing on the day of the appointment and asked if he could arrive five hours early. When he arrived at our home he showed my wife text messages from his wife on his phone (they were in Croatian, a language she doesn’t know). He asked to use our bathroom and when told no asked if he could relieve himself in our backyard. He asked my wife to start writing her Yelp review while he was there so he could read it over and approve it before it was posted. He asked her to cross-post the review to Google Maps. She doesn’t review things on Google Maps but I do, so here it is warts and all. Again, his electrical work is solid and fairly priced plus he was available on short notice. He cleaned up after himself too, which not all contractors do. I recommend him but I also want you be aware of who you’re getting.

Steve and his son arrived on time, early even, and were fast, friendly and thorough when investigating my unique outlet issue. Would definitely use them again! Called on a Thursday afternoon and they were at my house the next morning and finished by lunchtime!

Steve arrived on time (early, in fact) and was both knowledgeable and friendly. We had a couple of small things to assess and then correct, and he clearly explained what was wrong and how he proposed fixing. He also advised us on a few other things he saw but never pressured us. He completed one of the small jobs on Friday and said hed be back first thing Monday with the parts for the other small jobs. He was on time again this morning and again explained what he planned to do. Very efficient; clear explanations; neat and tidy work; very professional.
