Both the owner, Tom McMahon, and his project manager, Amy, were extremely helpful in guiding me with choosing the best products, design, color, and hardware for my window and door replacement project.Due to some manufacturing flaws which impacted the operation of the door locks selected for my replacement doors, McMahons Contracting had to invest significant time in first identifying the issue with the vendor and advocating for resolution on my behalf. Their steadfast communication with the vendor achieved resolution far sooner than I could ever have done on my own.I am grateful to have found a contractor whose organization excels at customer satisfaction and communication every step of the way. -

I am so fortunate to have selected McMahons Contracting for multiple projects. Tom has seen all the projects through personally. He is always checking on how everything is going and making sure we are happy. He is extremely knowledgable and thorough. The subcontractors that worked for him were uniformly excellent. Everything was completed in a very timely fashion and Tom made sure we were happy with every aspect of the projects. Amy, the project coordinator, is excellent with communications and updates and has been a huge help as well. Pictures show new roof, paint, gutters, new porch for house; new roof and cuppola on gazebo; barn demolition and new slab done for metal building. The metal building installers remarked on how outstanding the slab was and that it made their job easier. -

McMahon’s Contracting and Home Improvement has done numerous jobs for us over the past few years, handling small jobs like replacing a damaged skylight to larger jobs like repairing a leaking roof and building a new awning over the back door. Tom is attentive to every detail and makes sure the work is always up to high standards. His estimates are fair, and everyone at McMahon’s is highly professional and a joy to work with. We couldnt have been happier with the work done by McMahon Home Improvement. We entrusted Tom with major home improvement projects: new gutters and roof; installing 26 new windows; total bathroom renovation ; new barn doors and roof repair. Each aspect was done meticulously. Tom McMahon was there every day either doing work himself or overseeing his fine contractors. It was also a pleasure having the business end of our arrangement handled efficiently. McMahons Home Improvement removed the mold from my attic, replaced the improper venting of my bathroom exhaust that went into my attic, with proper venting that exhausted through the roof to the outside. They also added additional venting in the attic for better airflow.The quoted price was very fair, and the job was done for the price quoted. McMahon came out to quote the job shortly after I called, and the job got finished quickly, neatly, and professionally. -

We recommend McMahon’s Contracting & Home Improvement whole-heartedly.We purchased a house in Gardiner in 2017 and needed a GC with expertise in a variety of areas. Our house represented a challenge in several ways. Originally an 1880’s farmhouse, the interior had been meticulously redone in the Arts & Crafts style with extensive woodwork in mahogany, cherry, and walnut. It also had a newer renovation for the kitchen and dining room, requiring more of a refurbishment than a remodel in order to complement the rest of the house. Finally, the house had not been lived in for several years and needed some serious TLC to bring it fully back to life.We were new to the area. Given the issues we faced, we wanted to hire a GC who could orchestrate and oversee the work needed. We chose McMahon’s Contracting after research showed that the company was both local and had an excellent reputation. Over the course of the past two plus years, Tom & Co have assisted in virtually all the projects we have undertaken. A partial list includes exterior repair, renovation design & execution of four bathrooms, interior & exterior painting, new roofing, new insulation, extensive electrical work, interior repair and refurbishment of wood finishes, several new windows, including a new picture window, the assembly of a pond house and site landscaping and preparation.Tom and his colleagues, interior designer Lillian of Vivid Design Studio and project coordinator Amy, delivered excellent results. Potential issues and changes to timing were clearly communicated and followed up, and our complete satisfaction was their highest priority. It is hard for us to imagine living in our beautifully restored home without Tom’s help. -

Let me start with saying, we have never been one to write a review, good or bad.However, we are so happy with McMahon’s construction that we were not going to let the opportunity pass to tell others how wonderful it was to work with everyone involved with our project. We had an old run down porch removed and a new 3 season room built. The owner, Tom was so considerate, thorough and all around amazing. We felt so comfortable with the whole process. They never once blew off our questions or concerns that came up along the way. Of course we made some last minute changes as things progressed and we saw how wonderful everything looked. They didn’t even blink and supported our requests. Lillian was the first person we met. She is a gem. She came over to meet with us, take measurements and give suggestions for design and was such a pleasure. Amy from the site kept in constant touch with us on progress and what steps would happen next. Tom was ALWAYS available and reached out to us frequently to keep us up to date and make sure we were good and didn’t have questions. It is so rare to find someone you feel completely confident with and know you are in good hands. Thank you Tom, Lillian, Amy and the rest of your crew! This is much more than a review....it is a history of our, relationship with Tom McMahon. It all started with hurricane Irene, several years ago, when we had water damage to our house. Tom came In and repaired all the damage as well as putting some measures in place to make sure that our basement would never flood again. Since then, he has remodeled our kitchen, bathrooms, (2), turned three separate bedrooms into a huge master bedroom with a walk in closet, built a man cave in the basement, put in an elevator to help my wife with her mobility issues, and a heated walkway for the same reason. His most recent project was to close in our 16x20 deck into an amazing three season room.Tom is the best contractor you will ever use BAR NONE,!! He works with you all the way through the project and will not rest until it is perfect. He is the only outsider I have ever used who treated my home as if it were his own. He is an amazing craftsman and will never cut corners. -

All of the work that we wanted done was completed expertly and on time. They went out of their way to make sure we were kept aware of everything that was happening and to get our preferences. We had our basement finished, and when unforeseen additions had to be made to the total work done, we were immediately told and together we made the decisions on how to proceed. Overall, we had a great experience with MHI. -
