I first worked with York Electrical a couple of years ago when I wanted a chandelier installed in my apartment. I had reached out to a few companies and York won me over with their fair price and the way they explained the process to me. Fast forward, and I had a far bigger electrical project I needed. I never forgot York and immediately reached out, and Im so glad I did.I worked primarily with Dennis and his son Dennis, as well as Orlando... theyre truly a dream team! This is actually 2 reviews in one for York Electric. I originally hired Dennis and his team back in the summer of 2023 to do a full panel electrical upgrade at my house (built 1920s). Sorry I forgot to give them a review back then (due to me just retiring and dealing with other things going on) but to say that job was five stars. I contacted Dennis and his team again this past week to install four new circuit runs at my house (2 circuits on the 2nd floor and 2 on the 3rd floor) . I can say Dennis and his team are very knowledgeable. They were able to do the runs without installing extra outside pipe as a conduit (for my house this worked it may not necessarily work for your house layout). I was totally surprised. They were able to find a direct route from the 3rd and 2nd floors straight down to the panel in the basement. They just had to make 2 minor cuts in the wall inside the house (which they patched up nicely after). These guys are very professional and do outstanding work. They left my house leaving the work area very clean and neat. So if you want a quality electrician for any electrical work I would highly recommend Dennis and his team. His prices are very reasonable, addresses any concerns you may have and gets the job done to completion.

We had an open permit from 1986. The job passed inspection on the first visit, which attests to the quality of their work. The price was reasonable for such excellent results. I whole heartedly recommend York Electrical Contractors. You wont find better electricians.

What I love about York electric is that its not just a repair or an install... Its an experience!! When this company is working on your home or business, its as if they were doing it for THEIR home or THEIR business. Top notch, neat and made to last. They kindly offer suggestions that help enhance what you are trying to accomplish, like better switches, lighting fixtures, controllers, or even the proper connectors. Its not a hard sell either, just a polite suggestion about how to enhance the function of the job being performed so you never have to say, I wish I had gone with the better option when I had the chance. And even if you go with your budget items, you can be assured that the work will still be done right and work as expected time and time again. Big jobs or smaller jobs, quality is all the same. I just purchased my new home; unfortunately, I started having issues with flickering lights every time the air conditioning unit came on. Dennis and his crew came out, diagnosed the issue and fixed it without a hitch. Dennis explained everything in laymens term for someone whose not an electrician and went above and beyond to ensure things were done correctly. One of the worse things that can happen to you when you least expect it to happen...Our power went out all throughout our house, just a few hours before mothers day. With my father being out of town, a fridge full of fresh meat and produce we just purchased from BJs and low cellphone batteries, we were in a pretty pickle. I tried to restore the power by resetting the breaker box downstairs but nothing I tried seemed to work.We needed a skilled electrician that wouldnt take us to the cleaners and ring our pockets out to dry.After spending most of the next morning, with what little cellphone power I had remaining, going through Yelp, and Googles listings, I decided to try out York Electrical Contractors. They already had stellar reviews, and were close to our area. Shortly after leaving a message, Dennis contacted me right away.Following a brief inquiry he immediately assessed our problem. Being that this happened outside of normal business hours, they could have left us without power until then, but Dennis came out immediately and was able to restore our power temporarily which saved us a huge headache that day. Immediately, we made arrangements to change the breaker box in the basement since its been their since the 60s and was pretty much shot.Dennis and his team were very knowledgeable, prompt, courteous throughout the entire process. They left the work area spotless which most services do not and respected our property which was a huge plus.We will be needing rewiring in the future and they will be at the top of our list for any other electrical work needed moving forward.Thanks again to Dennis and his team.Im just sorry I didnt write this review sooner, but it was a very tiring day otherwise I wouldnt have hesitated. I was up all night after an electrician botched the whole job and ruined the wiring for my new dryer. I called Dennis at 3am to leave a message and he called back at 7:30am. He was so understanding and really took the time to talk to me about what I should do about the situation and send he was sending two guys out. They were there within an hour and a half! He gave me a price over the phone after I sent pictures and explained it all. The guys that arrived came in a licensed van and brought all there own equipment. (Which the previous “handyman” did not.) They were extremely polite and professional. They fixed everything PERFECTLY and in a timely manner. I could hardly hear them working either, so quiet! After it was finished they had made sure everything was hooked up correctly and turned on the machines. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to re do horrible work that was done. We have been searching for a reliable electrician and have found one with York Electrical. We have used York twice over the past 2 months for relatively minor work (Outdoor light install and ceiling fan replacement and install) and am extremely pleased with the all around quality of service. In both cases, they were responsive, professional and reasonably priced. It didnt matter how small of a job, as they treated me with the same quality service regardless of if it was a small or large job. The most recent work was performed by Shawn and Dennis. They had to come twice (first to install new box and second to install fan) to finish the job because I had purchased an incorrect ceiling fan. They honored the original quote and did not charge me for coming back, even though I purchased the wrong fan. Both times they were available either the same day or next day from the day I made the appointment. They arrived on time and were extremely professional. They clearly explained the work that needed to be done in easy-to-understand laymans terms. They were respectful and cleaned up thoroughly after completing the job. I have additional work needing to be done in the next several months and am happy to have finally found a reliable electrician.

I dont know if Google provides enough space for me to express how happy I was with my call to York Electrical Contractors. It was already late in the day when we encountered a problem with the electrical in one room. Two out of three room outlets were out and it cut off power to parts of the kitchen and bathroom. No one was seemed to be available or wanted to deal with that during the night. I liked the other reviews here for York so I decided to give it a final try. They answered, and I am grateful. After my son gave them as best an explanation possible of the situation as he could, they explained how the service would work and their availability. They got someone out to me that same night.Dennis and everyone at York are some of the most polite and professional people I have had the pleasure of calling in on a job. My son guided them through the situation so they could assess and determine a course of action. They were beyond patient and very dedicated to making sure the issue was resolved. My son was very impressed with how they conduct themselves. Think of that quick sand moment where one thing goes wrong and then another and another. That overwhelmed feeling as a homeowner or property manager? It was put completely at ease. Dennis arrived with a fully loaded vehicle ready to tackle nearly anything. Even at a late hour York Electrical performed their repairs as if it was the first job of the morning.Everything was resolved. It was an adventure, but the job was done. Outlets were all back in working order and the other areas had power restored as well. The work was looked over and checked more than once to make sure we were left without any further issues. The prices were very fair and I am already telling friends and family about them. I hope this review convinces somewhere out there who may be hesitant to give York Electrical Contractors a try. The team at York Electrical are all gentlemen and experts at their craft. They listened to what I wanted and delivered an exceptional final work product. They spent extra time planning the job to ensure it was the best job possible. They were installing 2 EV Chargers in my garage and needed to run a new service line from my main panel in the basement to the garage, plus install a new sub-panel and the two 220v outlets and chargers.They sketched out a great design, ordered quality materials and then completed the entire job in a single day. They found the best path from my existing panel to the new panel which simplified the job and caused the least need for sheetrock repairs. They left my home as clean as they found it and were always very cordial and considerate.Their finished product is a work of art. I have taken some time in sending my review of the electrician I called for the job because I needed to purchase a new TV, otherwise, I would have sent this the following day of his visit. I only have high praises to say about Dennis and his company. I called York Electrical one late afternoon and explained to Dennis that I had burned out my plasma TV. He said that perhaps the issue may not be all that costly. We made plans he would come the following morning to check all. He said that a couple of his workers would come in the afternoon to repair cables and increase the wattage. The cost for the job was minimal. Dennis is not only a nice person but also very fair, personable, punctual, and tries to give you the best deal possible. In other words, he does not take advantage. This type of professionalism is rarely seen these days. I trust him, and if and when, I need an electrician, he will be my go-to guy. I highly recommend him!

This is an example of how you run a company. Dennis is flawless and his crew are flawless! My Mustang Mach E is now on a Level 2 charger and it is a bid difference from using Level 1 for so long. My panel was replaced and it was no easy feat when you are dealing with a home that is close to 100 years old. Dennis made it happen and both jobs were performed in 1 day. I highly recommend them.

I’ve used York Electric a few times in the past. Always have been extremely happy with their work. The most recent time I used them for a complete gut of my previous electric service in my house which was 100 amp and had it converted to a 200 amp service along with changing and upgrading all fixtures/outlets/switches and adding high hats, and lights throughout the whole interior and exterior of the house. Also running wire throughout for A/V, alarm system and for the Sonos Sound system. Dennis, Tommy and the rest of the York Electrical team were amazing. They were prompt, courteous, patient with our requests, clean, honest and delivered a great product and service. They truly are professionals of their trade. 11-10-21We hired York Electrical to take care of two rooms that we needed more light in and our bathroom that needed two GFI outlets, one with a switch. They added a motion sensing light for our hall pantry closet and a ceiling light fixture with three lumen options with a switch in our bedroom entry by our linen closet. Both areas were too dark and dreary for years and lit by battery lights or flashlight. Now we have a tremendous amount of pleasant light that expands out to illuminate everything beautifully, saving us time and we are now able to quickly see everything in our closets, no more searching in dark recesses. We have a new safe GFI circuit for our bathroom and an extra outlet near the ceiling so we can mount a wall fan dehumidifier which will dry out the bathroom much quicker and eliminate mold. Dennis and his workers, foreman Josh and younger Dennis, showed up on time and worked as a team, steadily, efficiently, quietly respectful and safe. All holes were plastered, all debris removed, areas cleaned and vacuumed with a powerful shop vac. Dennis took care of all permits and paperwork for our coop management at no extra cost. Everything went smoothly and was completed between 9-5 with a short lunch break for his men. I found York on the web, but also, our building management has used them regularly before and highly recommended York without knowing that I had already decided on them. All phone and email contact and the workers and Dennis himself, all conducted professionally and quickly. Dennis personally checked the progress several times throughout the day and followed up after by phone to make sure we were satisfied. I was confident in the outcome because they clearly know their business well. We are very happy customers and highly recommend York Electrical if you need their services. Totally satisfied ! I was having a problem with an outlet getting very HOT with a heater plugged in. They sent someone over almost immediately and replaced the outlet. Unfortunately, it was a childproof outlet that was extremely difficult for me to insert a plug. I called again and the owner personally came over and fixed it. I would highly recommend this company. They are extremely capable and efficient. They respond to customer needs right away. I am a homeowner and also a real estate broker. I contacted Dennis a week ago about a light fixture in the dining room that was not working. He came highly recommended by my contractor and was the third electrician I contacted about this light fixture. I purchased my home and some of the lights in the house were not working. So I hired York Electrical contractors to come and do an inspection and let me know what was wrong. Tommy came and did an inspection and found that the wiring had been done incorrectly throughout the house. He stated that he could not leave the hose as is due to dangerous existing conditions. Apparently the previous owner had hired a cheap electrician ( not well qualified in my opinion). All I can say is my family and I were lucky ! We shall be forever thankful to Tommy and his crew. If you need electrical work done in your house and you are thinking about hiring your friend or cousin who just happens to delve in electrical work as a hobby, you will need to hire these guys to come and check on your friends work. Up popped “York Electrical”, but like most people, I am always the pessimist, with the 5 star reviews, but I gave it a try and called. Once I called, Dennis picked up the phone within the third ring. I was totally surprised that the proprietor of the business would pick up, it was just like what the other reviewer said, the owner picks up all calls, its true! I was shocked, usually I would get a secretary or a person on the other line that would simple say, “uh-huh, sure, let me get someone to call you back”. Not with York, Dennis listened to my problem and told me immediately if he was able to help me or not. Dennis listened intently and asked me questions about my issue and treated my issue with the utmost care and respect that he would treat a multi-million dollar deal, of course my issue was minute compared to huge jobs, but the respect that I got from him and York Electrical made me feel that my issue was his issue, and he would take care of it.As promised, Dennis delivered, within 3 days, the electrical permit was issued and the DOB inspection happened with no issue. I own a large catering hall in Astoria Queens and have been using York electric for all of my electrical needs for the last 15 years… Partners Dennis and Dennis have always been available to me 24 hours a day to meet any last-minute emergency that may arise… Several years ago I had a large electrical panel explode in the basement on a Friday evening… Dennis sent over an emergency team in the middle of the night and rewired half of my building and had me up and running by 10 o’clock the next morning eliminating the necessity to cancel six parties that day… His team wired the entire kitchen with temporary lighting and the necessary power to get through the weekend… I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that should I need it Dennis and Dennis are only a phone call away and that York Electric will get me up and running… These gentlemen are quality professionals that are deeply rooted in the Queens community. I would highly recommend York Electric for any of your commercial or residential electrical needs. They are the best!!
