Hi my experience with SGI Heating and Cooling was wonderful. They had an issue with the furnace upon arrival at my home and it was not usable. They changed the furnace type so they could install it that day and then they added a 4 inch air filter case as well free of charge.They were wonderful down to earth people to talk to. They are not trying to oversell you and are efficient to respond to problems and find solutions. I would highly recommend this company and will surely use them again!

Had a Fantastic experience with SGI Heating and Cooling. It started with Mary when she scheduled my appointment. She is so kind and she got me the perfect date and time. I didnt have to wait two months for an appointment like I did with local businesses in Alpena. Mary scheduled Matt to do my service.Matt explained everything to me. So professional and friendly, too. I also was going to have a Nest thermostat installed. There were some issues with the installation, only because I was told it would work with my furnace and then Matt found out it was a whole different installation with my furnace. Not his fault at all. He worked until he got it installed and installed perfectly.I have definitely found a new Heating and Air company for all my Heating and cooling needs. From the start of making an appointment for a free estimate for a new central air conditioner at Home Depot to Randy coming to our home to give us a estimate and the choices we had to Joe and Grant installation all were so knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant.

The workers were great: on time and very professional. Josh and Dave worked hard all day, and I am happy to report that I have beautifully a functioning Carrier central AC and a new Rheem water heater. Randy, gave great advice and guidance. They were very careful to lay down mats and keep everything spotless. The guys were even nice enough to fix my front door knob, which my previous contractor left as a disaster.

This is a company that stands behind their work and provides excellent customer service. They had to do a service call while A/C unit install was still under warranty. Then, 2 yrs later had to come back because again there was no refrigerant left in the system. Matt G. came out and worked with his boss to have the system filled and leak tested at no cost to us. We were in a dire emergency when our furnace decided to die ... of course, right in the middle of a freak sub-arctic winter snap. As a result, our house reached 41°. We have three young children (5 years, 2 years, and 4 mos), so finding an option was absolutely mandatory at this time. SGI was extremely patient and accommodating during this drastic time quickly working out an arrangement in terms of cost and installation of a brand-new furnace.Thanks so much!

Recently my furnace stopped working. I was hesitant to contract through Home Depot but decided to obtain a quote. Tom S. came to my home, evaluated my needs and presented my options. He was friendly, thorough, took time to answer all my questions and was very professional. This was the beginning of my exceptional service with SGI!! Fortunately they were able to install my new HVAC system within a couple days. The team of Josh N. (Lead Installer), Dave S. and Nick C. was outstanding! They were friendly, hard working, and efficient. They were respectful of my home and after installation was complete, Josh explained everything they had done. He educated me on my new system and answered all my questions. Despite working all day, he was unhurried in his explanations. I am extremely happy with my service and my new system is working great! These guys were phenomenal! I am always hesitant to use the companies contracted through Home Depot, but these guys were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond. There were minor things that they could have ignored or just skipped, and they installed my new furnace and A/C as if it was their own house. They walked me through everything and made sure that I was satisfied before they left. I will tell everyone to use SGI for their heating and cooling needs. Its nice to know that Home Depot has some good people working with them. Not to mention that they were about $3,000 to $4,000 below the other estimate I got, and there were no extra costs at the end. I couldnt be happier!

Went through this company through the home depot. The agent jamie bassow was very very helpful and still is to this day with questions. Made this process so simple and easy. My install is a new furnace and AC unit and it is very pricey but the agent was able to help me save money with rebabtes and also got me tax credits with this massive purchase. Found ways to help me save money towards the bill as well so i dont have to start by paying a super large amount and gives me 2 years to pay off with no interest. This company is GREAT and the agents are nothing but helpful. I dont make many reviews but i just had to for this company because this is the easiest big project i have ever had done. Thanks again SGI heating and cooling and also thank you to the agent listed above for the exceptional help with this!

THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! This fall. I bought a package including a Generac generator, a gas hot water heater, and a Lennox furnace and AC. The price was very good but the service was amazingly good. The techs who did the installations were friendly, minimally intrusive and all were fine gentlemen. As it turned out, the elite furnace was defective. Lennox dragged their feet, claiming improper installation, before SGI got it replaced. During this period, SGI was at our house almost daily making futile adjustmants on the defective furnace to expidite its replacement. SGI clearly cares about its customers. I can enthusiastically endorse SGI. Lennox, not so much.

Mike Blaise was my HVAC salesman he was very professional and knowledgeable about what I needed for my home I would recommend him 110% Jim and Ken showed up at my house too install a new Lennox furnace humidifier and Central Air conditioner. It snowed the night before so I shoveled too make it easier for them they brought throw rugs so they would not track snow into my house Jim and Ken showed up at 9am with everything they needed too complete this Job that day first removing my old furnace and Air Conditioner. My furnace had a cast iron pot that weighted 520 pounds not including the other parts of my furnace they worked hard and got that furnace removed. Then started installing my new equipment Both of them worked non stop from 9 am til 1 am the next morning not taking a break for lunch or dinner etc Jim and Ken had too do a lot of fabrication too make my new furnace match up with the old ductwork I think they both did a fantastic job 110% A week later Ken showed up with Ken the Electrician They had too finish some stuff and electrical wiring so my house was up too code all this labor was included in the beginning price they did an amazing job 110% SGI has an amazing staff that care about there costumers I highly recommended them Thank you too everyone involved in my purchase your amazing

My experience with SGI was good from the beginning. They were responsive in their communication and willing to work with me on price for a new AC unit. Chad Thompson was the rep I worked with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and patient with all of my questions. He gave me a good price for the unit, helped me select the brand/rating best for my needs, and helped explain my financing options- all with no pressure. Unfortunately, due to a change in my personal situation, I was not able to proceed with the sale/installation. That being said, SGI was transparent and a good company to work with up to that point. If there is an opportunity in the future, I would definitely consider working with them.

I was impressed with SGI from the first visit with Justin to the end of the installation. We found a perfect financing plan for me and the rest went exactly as I expected. Jim was the main installer and this man worked non-stop. He had two different partners who worked as hard as he did. They were professional, nice men who made me feel totally comfortable with the process. Any questions I had were answered immediately and I felt completely at ease having them in my home. If it wasn’t for the new furnace and AC sitting in my basement I couldn’t tell they had been there, the clean -up was that good. I chose to schedule an appointment for HVAC replacement directly via Home Depot website, where SGI Heating and Cooling contacted me.The Sales Consultant Tom Sullivan was professional, very friendly and I was pleased by how willing he was to dedicate his time and go above and beyond to accommodate my expectations, very helpful on finding the best solution for quality/price ratio.The technician Wayne Jackson was on schedule and did a great job with installation, provided protection sheets over my flooring, including cleanup at the end. Also, he was knowledgeable and helpful with advice on type of filter and future maintenance of the HVAC system.Overall, I was very happy with their approach and was glad to experience these days there are nice people to work with, who are capable to bring the products and services in todays world.

SGI Heating & Cooling sales consultant and install crew were top notch!I was a little nervous as I’d heard bad reports about using big-box store sub-contractors. I’d even lived through one with a neighbor of mine. Well, SGI Heating & Cooling proved to be the exception big time!SGI were professional, knowledgeable, and respectful from the initial consult right through to the clean-up after the install.On the initial consult I didn’t feel pressurized into accepting the quote. I had been planning to replace our AC for years so when I saw the SGI stand in the Home Depot in Northville, I thought why not get yet another quote always shopping for a better price. Based on my research the pricing was comparable and I ended up signing up to replace the furnace and AC. The next day I received a call from the sales consultant that I did not need as powerful an AC unit as thought and could downgrade to a totally adequate unit which subsequently led to a credit. I did some additional research to confirm what was being suggested was indeed accurate, and it sure was.Once the install was scheduled, I was kept informed of arrival time. The crew called ahead to let me know they were on their way. From the initial greeting upon arrival of the two-man install crew all the way through the install I was treated with politeness and respect. They invited me to ask any questions as they worked and assured me it wouldn’t be a bother. I really liked that because I’m pretty nosy and want to understand what’s being done. They called me in as the install progressed explaining why things were being done.The crew was very respectful of my property. I have to say that I’ve had a few contractors in my home over the years and this crew was exceptionally careful with my flooring, walls, doors, even my plants. They used floors covers and were sure to keep the construction elements confined to those covers. They cleaned up inside and outside once the install completed. There was no trace of an install except for a shiny new furnace and AC. They made sure both units functioned as intended before the left my house.I certainly can recommend them and will be using them to maintain the units.

This was a 12 hour difficult job and they were polite and professional the whole way through. Even having a 2 hr drive home after they still made no complaints. I tried to limit their exposure to my puppy as she likes to jump on people but they were great with her with the few interactions that were unavoidable. Last week I had a heater and AC unit installed. The installers Mike & Steve were on time, polite and professional. They worked for hours to remove the old system and to install the new system. Mike provided information for maintaining the system that I should do. He took care of scheduling an appointment for the electrician to come out for some wiring work. He could have just told me and left it up to me to take care of, but did it himself. He also did not mind my young niece coming in to take a look at what he was doing. Curiosity was getting the best of her. Mike & Steve cleaned up and took all debris from the install. Let me know I could always call if there are any problems. Jim the electrician came out the next day and was just as wonderful. It appears SGI has amazing staff. Even the ladies that answer the phone calls are so nice and willing to help. They listen to what you are asking and do not make you feel like you are bothering them. Great job to the staff of SGI.

He explained the removal/installation process and approximately how long the job would take. Boiler replacement. I sought out 5 quotes for the replacement of my 15+ year old boiler. 2 never showed, 1 was high pressure over priced two ex-used car salesmen type lead men. 1 incomplete quote, never called me back to address my concerns of the lack of clarity.Then there was SGI Heating and cooling.The salesman Jamie, was on time, thorough, polite, informative and professional. When he didn’t know the answer he didn’t make it up as he went along he called for additional information. We had some confusion on available equipment which was eventually resolved. The price was higher than the incomplete quote but I’m certain the lower price would have escalated due to the inaccuracies of the quote. Also the boiler SGI used is a much higher quality based on warranty and component quality.Now for the installation. Todd and David called when they were about an hour out. Professional, polite, and respectful of our home and property. David took extra measure to move furniture from the traffic area to avoid accidental damage, drop clothed the traffic areas, get new equipment organized and staged ready to install, and Todd took ample time to inspect and understand our existing application and explained what the process was going to be. These are two younger men who operate on a standard of years gone by. This is hard work requiring skill and experience which they both embraced as part of their DNA. I assume this is a company culture based on their commitment to the customer. My water heater and furnace both needed to be replaced, so I used the hvac form on home depots site which then contracts the work thru SGI. Im sure glad they do, because I could not be happier with the work. They called me shortly after filling out the form, they had someone out there later that day to check it out, and the installation was two days later. They drove out here during the bad snow storm on Feb 2 and the two technicians had great attitudes and did a great job with everything.I typically hate dealing with stuff like this but have no complaints here. I would highly recommend SGI, every interaction I had with the reps and techs was friendly and professional, and the two units have been working perfectly for a month now. They really went above and beyond by coming out in such poor conditions, I really appreciate the effort and the talent of those two techs. 10/10

I wish every contractor we hire would be as quick and precise as the folks at SGI. They installed 2 furnaces, 2 AC, ductwork, and a water heater and anything we asked for was just, well, DONE! So easy to work with, so professional and enthusiastic about what they do. You’d think this was a family business they wa you’re cared for as a customer. HVAC can be scary, you worry it’s going to take a long time to get in, that something will go wrong etc but everything was smooth as butter. Starting with the responsiveness of Cramer Gormley, who visited my condo and prepared the estimate, to Spencer Yelinek and Joe Vallaire who installed my new furnace and air conditioner, I was very pleased with the process. It was 17° when my furnace quit as the heat exchanger was cracked. Cramer came out for the site visit, and had an estimate to me that evening (working after hours) for my consideration. I decided to go with SGI, and my furnace and air conditioner were installed the next day. Installation was professional and quick, and Spencer and Joe left a clean area both inside and outside. The furnace works like a champ, and I’m sure the A/C will also meet my approval. Definitely recommend SGI, and will use them again for my heating and cooling needs.

There were several issues that needed to be addressed in order to move forward with my central air installation project. Wow! Where do I start? This company came out the very next day, talked me through the process and gave me a quote that was right in line with a new AC install. Then to top it off they installed it the next day! After a month of trying to find a reputable company it was such a relief to find someone who not only got me up and running fast but also did it in budget! Thank You so much I appreciate it!

Did I mention this was also a conversion from propane to natural gas.
