    Custom Decks just finished installing our second Sundance Pergola and we love it! The entire process was streamlined and easy. Josh made the initial visit and understood exactly what we needed. Kari was on point with her design and most importantly communication. George completed the install and I could not be more complementary about is work and all around good dude vibe. I highly recommend Custom Decks and their excellent team!

    George, Connor and Travis were a great install team. They showed up early, worked long days in the heat and made certain things were done correctly. We have a little finish up work before it’s completely finished but we use it daily and love the results. Our sales rep Joshua has been great the whole way through as well.     I had a wonderful experience with custom decks. I would give them 10 stars! The workers that built my patio cover, the helpers and the job manager were all fantastic. I would not hesitate to use them again at all. They were also less expensive that another builder that I had come out and give me a bid. Great work!

    We recently had our old deck flooring, facia & handrail caps replaced with Trex Deck. We also needed numerous joists replaced. The personnel at Custom Decks were all experts at their stage of contact with us from Greg our sales contact, who clearly explained what our project needed & how it would progress. Joshua laid out our estimate with detailed precision. Contact passed to Kari, the design manager who worked with us to create renderings & tweaked little changes. All departments are well orchestrated with each other and with the many others behind the scenes. But the five star rating must go to George Toloo who installed our deck and did all of this work! His experience was evident in the way he laid out each phase & methodically solved each challenge (like notching a 20 board to fit snugly to several posts and install heavy joists). Materials were collected and the surrounding work area swept each day. And, he is always pleasant & polite; a pleasure to have building our deck!     My wife and I attended the Colorado Home & Garden show with the intent of finding a company to build our new deck. Through the show, we were able to obtain multiple bids. Among all of the bids we received, nobody gave us the same feeling of trust and confidence like Custom Decks. They werent the least expensive option, but we knew we would get what we paid for. And we did!In addition to the overall quality of their work, the staff at Custom Decks was terrific and always addressed any concerns or questions we had through the process. Dale Jr., Dale Sr., Kari, Brittnee, Greg and Christian all made the process not just easy, but enjoyable.I am not one for writing online reviews, but this is one I was willing to make an exception on. These guys are fantastic and I highly recommend them.

    Had such a great experience with our new deck, especially on the design and builder side. I wasnt sure what our options were, both in aesthetic and materials, but got lots of good info and found exactly what I wanted, Trex is a game changer. The builder was amazing too, sometimes that can be hit and miss but everyone that actually came to our property to work on the deck was respectful and easy to talk with (I had lots of questions). The finished work was so well done and really changed our space for the better! So glad I didnt decide to do this myself.

    Over the years I’ve had four decks built and one I personally built with a friend. Two of these decks were at my own residence. These decks have become quite burdensome, and I lost the momentum to maintain them. My wife and I made the decision that our current deck needed to be replaced, the one I helped build. While finding the right builder we finally made the decision to utilize Custom Decks out of Colorado. From the onset every Custom Deck employee displayed a high degree of customer/client service. In preparing their estimate they utilized drones to take arial and elevation photos of the site; my home is situated on a hillside; careful measurements were taken with a fair deal of consideration to site-planning.Once we made the commitment, meeting with sales staff and site planners, I was contacted by Kari, Design and Permitting Manager; she was instrumental in designing my deck per my specifications. She found design solutions to issues confronting my hillside foundation to design features which proved to be much better than our own ideas. During this design process we resigned ourselves to trusting those Custom Deck professionals with years of experience. Kari would also guide us through the permitting process. Additionally, she explained the engineering issues confronting my hillside; this necessitated the need to drive piles into the ground to secure the foundation. Finally, she worked with us on the details from the railing, to lighting and the design of the deck flooring itself.The permitting process took over a year but when approved, I was put in touch with Steve Ervin, Project Manager overseeing my project. He would be the individual accountable for the construction of our deck as well as our satisfaction. Four outstanding individuals were assigned to my project, these individuals knew their business. Prior to, Kari informed me it would take about 2 weeks to complete which I was quite skeptical. These builders proved her right despite some unforeseen circumstances that delayed the project for a few days. We only lost one day and a half as the overall work plan was well-orchestrated and executed. As a customer I learned a lot just by watching these deck builders.Its been about four weeks since the deck was completed, and I have enjoyed this deck each day; without reservation I would utilize Custom Decks again.Will L.

    Hectors crew did a good job and the results look great. He and his crew were easy to work with and helped move some heavy objects for me. Some minor details such as an undersized faucet bib, underneath wood left unprotected, and a missed cut on a beam were the only concerns.

    I had an overall great experience with Custom Decks. We worked together to detail out the project, deciding everything from brick colors to style of mantle. During the project, they worked diligently through the approval and permitting processes. Communication was great and questions were answered promptly. Even during the build they suggested some tweaks to the final plans to make things better and they were right.This project was fairly expensive and it had a good bit of lead time waiting for their schedules to free up. But I knew all of this before even starting the project and was ok with it. Once the project started it was done on time and on budget.They want to do a good job and stand behind their work. All around a successful project.Be sure to check the before and after photos as that really shows the change.

    We are way beyond satisfied with our new Custom Decks Trex deck. From the initial contact and bid to the finished product we could not be happier. Dale the owner was involved and made sure everything went well. We had an 800 sq foot old redwood deck that was in very poor shape. They dismantled all the old wood leaving only the glulam support beams and redid the support structure much better than it was originally. The Trex deck is beautiful thanks to Christians and Manuals attention to detail, and our new wire cable railing looks terrific. The project took about three weeks, and we actually looked forward to seeing those guys show up. They were actually fun to work with. We had a small back porch and an upper deck which were also done perfectly. A project like this wasnt cheap, but overall we got a superb result for the money we spent. This company is A+. I dont believe you could go wrong choosing them as your deck company!

    The team at Custom Decks is the absolute BEST! Beginning with Dean who provided recommendations for a beautiful Trex deck. He provided an estimate for the removal of the old deck and construction of the new one that held true to the end, job finished beautifully at that exact price. Communications with Stacie and Kari in the office were excellent and responsive giving me confidence that everything was being handled efficiently. Project manager Dale kept me posted with all the information I needed once all the permits were ready to go. Then the installers, Justin and Travis, were amazing. The old deck was broken and dangerous, but Justin and Travis handled the removal quickly, thoroughly and safely. The new deck was constructed within just a few days with great care and the end product was beautiful! To say this was a satisfying experience from start to finish would be an understatement! Custom Decks gets my highest recommendations for quality, efficiency and a top notch job done as advertised.

    This deck is in the front of our house, the entrance to our home, so we wanted it to look classy. We used cedar for the deck planking. Dean, the sales guy, was helpful and not hard-sell. In addition to the deck itself, we wanted a front-door porch-roof overhang and Custom Decks could do it without requiring a second contractor. We got regular communications from their office and site visits to make sure it was going well. The two-man build crew (Travis & Rigo) understood our vision, and asked when they werent sure (it may have made for a smoother project that I am home all day so they just had to knock on the door to get clarifications). This was a pretty big deck, about 450 sq. ft. Most of it was straightforward but there were a few custom features and workarounds that required creativity. Their finish work was terrific. They took pride in their craftsmanship and in doing a good job. The site was kept clean and our yard was cleaned up as they finished up and left. We paid them through their online system, and that worked fine. In short, we are happy with Custom Decks.

    A deck is a big investment. This is my second deck project and it was much better than my first. Working with Custom Decks was like working with a professional home remodeler! They made it so easy! I interviewed four contractors. The Custom Deck sales person showed up with deck AND rail samples, talked about layout ideas includingn color options, mixing colors, which way the boards could run. Once decided, they produced a color graphics from several vantage points so that we would know what our deck would look like and how furniture could be placed. They offered to manage a sliding door and window installation; we decided not to do it, but it was nice to know that they could. Upon construction, they showed up on time, ready to work, and worked hard. Even my neighbors were impressed! The construction guys were so friendly! We constructed a 300+/- SF elevated deck and it was honestly the easiest remodel weve ever experienced!

    Were very pleased with our new deck, roof and patio. Kris was great at helping us figure out the details and incorporate our ideas to the extent possible, especially using a UV filtering translucent roofing material that they had not used before. He also came out several times as we were deciding on deck and concrete colors. The only issue was that the engineer determined we couldnt use cedar/redwood for the roof and have it still be structurally sound, so they used pressure treated pine that still looks nice. The craftsmanship is top notch, including the stucco repairs from where the old deck met the house. The stamped concrete patio where a lower deck was looks great, too. They werent always the best at communicating, especially related to the concrete which was done be a sub-contractor, but they did always respond to questions and issues and worked with us when there were some minor changes along the way. We also liked that they dealt with sending the HOA form with the details. The cost was also very reasonable and within our budget. I would highly recommend Custom Decks of Denver if you want a new deck built.

    We love our decks by Custom Decks! They did an amazing job and they look so beautiful! The guys are professional and cleaned up well and were easy to work with. We highly recommend Custom Decks! They communicated a lot during the process and were always professional, friendly, and helpful! They even moved us up on the docket because we had an emergency need for new decks as our HOA was breathing down our neck to get it done ASAP. In Covid times that is hard to do but they made it happen. We couldnt be happier with Custom Decks!

    There are a LOT of deck contractors out there and they all say that they do great work at a reasonable price, but then theres reality. You really get what you pay for... maybe.With Banell I found them to be straight shooters from the get go. They spent the time and brought samples. We went out and saw a few of their decks and talked with actual customers.The result was, that they were the best value. We went for the composite materials throughout. Turned out to be a really smart no maintenance choice. Very happy with the quality of workmanship and materials used. The workers were first class and cleaned the site every day. The end result was a deck that we were really proud of (and still are years later).Then we have the service after the fact. I had some LED lights burn out prematurely. I called about this and they replaced them No questions, just great service. Ask that of another deck builder (if you can even reach them).Definitely a 5* company.

    We are very pleased with our new deck and pavers! The employees were professional and kind and knew what they were doing.. They went out of their way to please us. The clean-up every day was unbelievable. I could take lessons from them! Hector in particular was a great person to be in charge, We would definitely recommend Custom Decks again.

    We hired Custom Decks to replace an old wooden deck with new composite material. Custom Decks did an admirable job adapting to some unexpected ground conditions discovered after they removed the old deck. Thoroughly professional crew and staff - once they started, they kept working until the job was done. Were very pleased with the result.

    From the consultation appointment to the final product...Custom decks are awesome! Very friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and very personal with all aspects of their work. In particular Kris, Ed, and George were great to work with and would use them again for any of our projects. Cannot recommend enough for any projects you need.

    I very much liked working with Custom Decks. If you worked with contractors before, you know it is hard to get them on the phone, and when working the site, always working/planning the next job. This wasn’t the case with Custom Decks. With one exception, there was always someone to answer my calls. Both Jennifer and Kristina were my main contacts after the initial design meeting with Dean. All treated me as an important person and always took the extra step to resolve any concerns I had.I had the misfortune of trying to do a deck replacement during Covid when EVERYBODY is doing renovation and supplies for some materials were becoming in short supply. This meant that the timeline for my deck replacement was delayed longer than I would have liked, but I won’t remove any stars as that was more out of their control.My project was a simple replace of the original 12x12 2nd story deck with stairs down to the ground. The old 24-year-old deck was in sad shape, and we wanted to replace it with composite. No more painting/staining! We chose Trex for both decking as well as hand rails. The 2 toned (Tiki Torch and Spiced Rum) decking as well as the black railing really turned out beautifully.As mentioned, that this was a replacement for an existing deck. It was fun watching professionals tear down and replace a deck over a hot tub without needing to move it and it was not damaged at all. You could really tell that they knew what they were doing.Since no project is 100% without some drama, our came at the very end of the project where small accounting error surfaced. After a little discussion, we both came to a consensus that that we both agreed with. If there were ½ stars, I would probably ding them for that, but I don’t think it was worth a full star since everything else went so well.

    Dale and his team built an amazing deck for us! It included a stacked stone firepit with 700k BTUs! Yes, that is not a typo, it is awesome! The quality and craftsmanship of the deck and firepit is top notch. Dale was great to work with and answered the dozens of questions we had throughout the process. He was flexible and easy to work with and his crew was great. They finished early and we could not be happier with the results! Our realtor told us it has greatly increased the property value of our home.

    I won a $10,000 custom built deck from a 104.3 The Fan Sweepstakes. It turned out amazing! The quality of work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were exceptional. However, it took several months for them to finally figure out that I was the contest winner and that I wasnt going to do anything more than a $10,000 deck as indicated by the contest. They persistently tried to upsale me and at times I was concerned if I would ever get the deck I wanted. I simply wanted a redone deck with no gimmicks. Despite their unwillingness to redo my entire deck and staircase, I received an incredible 14x10 extension on my existing 8x10 deck after finally meeting face to face with Dale. Cant thank Eddie and Sev enough for their hard work and commitment to finishing this deck project even when the supplies fell short during the project and had to come up with it out of my own pocket.

    We had a 500 sq ft cedar deck that we wanted removed. We wanted a stamped patio put down.Well winter time and snow was a factor, but Kris and team came out gave a spectacular estimate. They Worked around the weather forecast and built a great stamped patio for our home. We love it!!Thank you for our new space!!!

    Costom Decks completed the demo and build of a 1st floor main deck and 2nd floor upper deck on a walkout home. This was a replacement of both original 21 year old decks constructed with matching columns integrated throughout. The workmanship and materials on the new decks were top notch. The crew working on the deck performed over and above my expectations in every phase of the project. I would highly recommend them and would contract them again without reservation.

    My deck was falling apart and sagging in the middle and it wasnt safe to walk on. My insurance said they were going to drop me if i didnt get it fixed. So i called Custom Decks they showed up promptly and on time ran an estimate same day, then got to work. The builder even came out on his day off to make sure everything was good and we were happy. They explained everything they were doing every step of the way and had options for us to chose from throughout the project. I now have one of those decks that you see in a magazine. Highly recommend this company I couldnt be happier.

    George from Custom Decks did a great job of fixing a minor problem with our Sundance pergola which is almost 2 years old. The motor was making a funny noise when closing. George was immediately able to isolate the problem and had it fixed in a couple of minutes. His knowledge of our configuration and the product is excellent.

    We contracted with Custom Decks to do a two part-job. I was replacing deck boards and railings on the front porch and a complete deck replacement in the back. I chose them for a couple of reasons. Their process is thorough and they have a very good showroom. The process involves several steps including on-site evaluations, design renderings with reviews/approvals, permit submittals, assignment of a project manager, and experienced construction crews. Someone was always available during the process to answer questions and deal with issues. In construction there are always issues. In each case the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. The work crew even picked up on two items that they were able to make better. The company did a very good job in maintaining a clean work site. The final product was of a first-rate quality and completely met our expectations. I believe this was in great part to the cooperative attitude of the staff. However, we had to be engaged in order to assure everyone was on the same page. As far as the showroom goes, decks are all about looks and to be able to see good examples of styles and applications goes a long way. It is not to be underestimated. They were even able to accelerate our schedule. I highly recommend considering Custom Decks if you are in the market for new/replacement decks.

When we finally made up our mind the estimate was prompt, and almost have the price I was expecting. The builder was respectful and understanding and worked around our scheduling. I thought it was going to be a long stressful process but the people at this company took all that away and made it very easy on us. I recommend this company this will not regret it

    Malcolm LillywhiteI am presently in discussions about the design and construction of a large deck extension to my house with Dale and his staff at Custom Decks of Denver. During this process I have visited 6 of their completed projects and I was completely impressed with the unique designs and quality of their craftsmanship and of the materials used. Their staff have been straightforward with their design concepts and costs and they respond to my questions promptly. You cant go wrong with these guys, they are the best in my opinion.
