    We hired D&S Builders earlier this year to repair some major structural damage to our house. Nate and his entire crew did an outstanding job and we could not be more pleased with the results. The job included a new roof and gutters, replacement of all windows (30 windows, 2 skylights and a glass patio door), and building a new deck. In addition, the house had suffered from extensive wood rot. The team was meticulous in removing all of the rot and replacing with new materials, stabilizing the load bearing walls, wrapping the house properly using HydroGap and residing the house with all new cedar shakes. The repair work flows seamlessly both outside and in, as Nate was able to perfectly color match the paint with the existing custom interior of our house.Maintaining the original design of our house required Nates team to have precision craftsmanship and they did not disappoint. The multiple roof lines was a challenge which they met. The intricate cuts required for each cedar shake was expertly handled.The entire team was professional, punctual, took great pride in every detail of their work and overall a pleasure to deal with. Nate did a fantastic job keeping the project running smoothly even with supply chain issues. We plan to use D&S Builders for additional projects in the future.- The Wrights, Mount Desert Island 2022

    I had this company build my deck five years ago. I was very happy with the quality and price. Five years later, there was an issue with the deck and the owner came out free of charge and fixed the issue. They stand behind their work. I have also used them for a roofing repair. Prompt service and good pricing. If I was building a home or doing a remodel, they would be at the top of my list for who I was using as contractor or carpenter.

    I consistently hire D&S Builders for my home improvements, most recently an extensive roof repair and a bedroom remodel. The were punctual and tidy and priced fairly. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship and will continue to use them in the future!

    Had our roof reshinglined and chimney reflashed and the crew had the whole thing done in less than a day! Very professional and did a great job cleaning up all the debris and old shingle mess.

    We were looking to age in place. Started with a very rough sketch of what we wanted - a room and a bathroom addition to the first floor. We wanted the bathroom to be wheelchair accessible just in case so that meant at least an ADA shower. They took our sketch and turned it into something i am totally in love with. They installed a pocket door between the new addition and the current house. The new bath was next to the existing house and wanted to save wall space so a pocket door was the solution. They had to figure out how plumbing and electrical would work to accommodate pocket door. They made it seem simple but am sure there was many a meeting between carpenter, plumber and electrician. They all worked and communicated well. We had wanted a tongue and groove ceiling which we would then paint, but they recommended a product that was whitewashed and it is the most beautiful ceiling. They installed a floating LIfeproof waterproof flooring though out the addition. The workmanship was of the highest quality. They were flexible with changes. Example - we had to remove a non operating window from a second floor bump out to accommodate for the addition. Instead of throwing that window out they adjusted the plan to incorporate it in the room portion of the addition with ease. The carpenter was very particular and precise. His work is perfection. There was an issue with the shower floor squeaking and the plumber resolved the issue quickly and without question. The electrician even thought of putting a light over the shower which i had not thought of and is a great idea.The crew were courteous and respectful of our Covid precautions requests. The work space was tidy and clean. I am so pleased with their work we are going to have them remodel the entire downstairs to be more open and rework the kitchen. I would highly recommend them.

    D&S Builders constructed a home for me in Southwest Harbor. It turned out better than imagined.Their terms were straightforward and fair. They provided a professional estimate and were helpful in getting what the bank needed. They used quality subcontractors and suppliers. As construction proceeded, Nathan laid out options and provided good recommendations based on his experience. They were very flexible in using items that I purchased as well as placing orders for me.Even with the recent supply chain issues and the shortage of labor, D&S made great progress on the house and stayed within the estimate. It was a pleasure working with D&S and I would highly recommend them for any building project.

    D&S Builders just finished a project at our home. They are simply superb. You will not find flimsy/poor quality material, cutting corners or inferior anything with this company. What you will get is an end product that is excellent in every way.

    D & S builders recently reshingled my garage and home roofs. The were done ahead of schedule and cleaned up nicely. The crew was very professional and efficient. I would recommend them for any construction project, and I will certainly call them for my future projects.
