I highly recommend Homestead. They exceeded my expectations with the exceptional quality of my new steam boiler and the level of service was outstanding! Iām not one for writing reviews but I was so overly impressed I felt I had too. Jake and Billy were the two service guys and they were here on time each day and very respectful of my property which is important to me. Jake took the time to answer all my questions and Billy after he installed the thermostat I saw him polishing it with his cloth which really impressed me! They kept their work area clean and organized and when they moved my items out of the way they were very careful with everything. Jake explained everything when finished and went over a whole check list with me to help me understand which was very informative. As for my new boiler itās beyond impressive and the pipping so hefty and massive just high quality u just donāt see anymore! U can tell the guys took their time to do an over and above amazing job installing it. Iām a perfectionist and I was amazed at how everything looked so perfect! I had a friend ask if I shopped around for a new boiler and I said no Homestead had always been good to me for oil deliveries and plumbing service so I trusted them and sure enough they proved they are the very best around. Thanks Homestead!!! -

Highly recommend Homestead! We shopped around for quotes at first but felt Homestead was the most professional, reasonable, reliable, and didnāt use any high pressure sales to get us to choose them unlike other companies. Homestead replaced our very old oil tank at a reasonable price and handled everything - the permit, the removal, the installation, the warranty, the cleanup, etc. making it very easy for us. The two men that handled the job were professional, friendly, finished everything in just a few hours, and left everything spotless. We didnāt have to do any cleanup and they saved what was left of our oil to put into the new tank so we didnāt waste any. We will definitely be using Homestead again! -

I called Homestead to replace the radon abatement system fan that was approximately 15 yrs. old on my 30 yr old system. I got their name from the state of Connecticuts web site listing certified radon abatement companies as the company that installed the original system and the 15 yr old replacement fan was no longer in existence. Homestead was not the only one I called from this list. I had talked to a few others and sent pictures of my system and none of them seemed to want to do the job. They either quoted me a ridiculous price or didnt bother to call me back. Homestead quickly returned my call and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. The Technician Justin did a great job replacing the fan. There had been a little miscommunication about the cap on the top of the exhaust pipe for the system and Ricardo called me back right away and when we discussed what we talked about on the phone he immeadiately recalled our conversation and said he would take care of it to my satisfaction which they did. Folks, Homestead is a stand up company that keeps their promises and does good work. This day an age it is difficult to find a company so willing to ensure your satisfaction and do business the old fashioned way where their word is golden. Dont hesitate for a moment to use this company! -

Im giving you a 5 star-review because of Justin (The A Team) who came in Tuesday and saved the day after the first two guys who showed up on Monday (clearly the B Team) and couldnt fix our well pump; as a matter of fact, neither of them went into well to look at it (hard to fix the well pump that way, I would imagine. Appointment for Monday (the B Team), short story, those two guys looked in basement, came up told me there was nothing they could do, went out to truck, came back in, told me they spoke to Justin and he said to change out the switch, that wasnt the issue; then came up and explained what they did, which I replied sounds like Chinese to me because I do not speak well (as in well pump). He told me Justin told him to drain the water. They said Justin would be by tomorrow. I went to faucet and theres no water, so I met them in driveway and said, theres no water and he said yeah, you might get it back but probably not. I was not expecting to have zero access to water since. Would have been nice to have been told to fill up the bathtubs and containers prior to draining well so we could flush toilets and have water available to us until the well was properly fixed. Tuesday appointment scheduled for 8 a.m. and then moved to 10:00-10:30 window. When 11:30 rolled around, we called Homestead and were told, visit would be after 1 p.m.; it was 3:30 p.m. Justin and his apprentice were professional, friendly and had that pump fixed, the water up and running again and everything cleaned up in no time! Like I said, Justin (The A Team) to the rescue! Because of HIS top-notch skill set, ability to explain things clearly to the customer (me), pump was fixed properly, water working again and The Strongs are very happy customers! Before he left, Justin told me if any problems, call tomorrow (Wednesday), he would come out immediately. Now, thats what I call Customer Service! I highly recommend Justin and the A-Team for all your wells needs! -

We had a new furnace installed and recommendations cause of a previous furnace was just old and he thought was unreliable. They didnt want to be a beautiful job but two days later it just stopped working they came out seem they fixed it unfortunately 12 hours later it wasnt working again again that came out immediately. Again they came back and changed some part and believe it or not the furnace stopped working working about 3 days later. I may have these times a little bit off, but all these visits came within the first 10 days. They came out and not only changed the solenoid that seemed to be not the correct one with a whole new pump system. They said they werent going take any more chances of having us with a new furnace that didnt work. It worked perfectly sense. You might think Id be upset but we are not...because they serviced us immediately and it wasnt their fault there was a malfunction part from the factory and they corrected it. Subsequently we highly recommend Homestead. -

We had them install a pump to increase the pressure on our well and a water softening system. Both jobs were done timely and they left the job as clean as they found it. Im not a customer of Homestead, but I plan to be. I had an issue with the HVAC another company damaged and asked Homestead to come out, take a look, and share their thoughts with me. Super helpful. Consultation fee was reasonable. Also called them regarding Duct Sealing and moisture in attic. Technicians on the phone were friendly, helpful, and informative. Homestead has old-school customer service skills. Good communication and good follow up. -

Over the last 6 years we have worked with Homestead multiple times including installing an air conditioning system and replacement of our hot water heater. Our current furnace was 30+years old and we decided to pro actively replace it. I reached out to Andrew at homestead. He came out and reviewed our needs for a new furnace and provided a detailed proposal. I met with Andrew to review a few questions. Based on our prior experience working with Homestead we entered into a contract for the new furnace. On the day of installation Todd and his crew arrive on time, walked me through what to expect over the next 2 days. They kept the work area clean and provided me updates on their progress. When the new furnace was up and running they walked me through the operations and answered all my questions. Canāt say enough about how clean they left the work area! Very happy with Homestead their staff and equipment -

Friendly, courteous , professional and showing they truly care about what they do for work and helping families stay warm . I felt like they became āmy friendsā. Gave me tips on different things about the insulation and heating my home. Went the extra mile to even fix a hole in part of my home outside that some ācrittersā were getting in. We used Homestead for our plumbing needs recently. We replaced two toilets (both were 30 years old and original to the house), a showerhead, bath stopper and kitchen faucet. They gave us a reasonable price and were very efficient and communicated well with us. They explained because of the age of the systems there could be additional charges once work started and quoted us what they would be if needed. Tyler, the plumber, was wonderful and explained everything to us about what he was doing. Its only been a couple weeks but so far we love our new shower head and the new toilets. -

We had Homestead Comfort install Mitsubishi mini splits in our ānewā home (fully renovated 1919) house in West Hartford. It was just after the first July heat wave, which we suffered through, and we were pretty desperate for the job to be completed before the arrival of the 2nd major July heat wave. They did not disappoint.Spencer was our sales rep who wrote up the proposals on what options we had. He was thorough and kept on top of the project from beginning to end.Mike was the on site technician who managed the project and gave us last minute advice on the best placement of the four mini splits. We had purchased a condenser to allow 4 but had only ordered 3, thinking weād decide later if we needed a fourth one.Instead on the day of installation, he advised us about air flow and cooling, and recommended we purchase and install a 4th unit, which he was absolutely correct about. It was excellent advice. Thankfully, he was able to get it delivered to the house within hours.He told me from the beginning that he cared about aesthetics and my husband and I do too. He and his crew did a tremendous job figuring out how to make the wiring work through original thick walls and very small ceiling spaces and all of it is covered up beautifully. Outside you cannot tell it isnāt original to the design of the house. They all did an excellent job over two full days.And Toni, the office install scheduling manager pulled off a miracle as the scope of the project grew. She was able to assign two additional technicians to the job to assist Mikeās crew and ensure the job could be completed by Friday evening, so we would have A/C over the weekend. We did in time for the arrival of the heatwave.We highly recommend Homestead. They gave us good advice and very good service. And a nice cool house to enjoy. With a condenser thatās virtually noiseless. -

My experience with Homeatead Comfort last month (November 14, 2024) was fantastic!!! Spencer Ramsdell, their technical sales representative came out on a Thursday morning and was courteous, knowledgeable, personable, professional, and prompt. He detailed the two options available to replace my expired gas boiler system. I selected the high efficiency Bosch system and it has been running like a champ. Their installation technicians, Todd and Billy, also exhibited the same above characteristics. They showed up promptly the following Tuesday morning...removed the old system, had the new system installed, up and running Wednesday afternoon. I highly recommend Homestead Comfort for your HVAC needs!! -

Technician came out and thought he fixed the issue but had some doubts as the problem was intermittent and of course was not present during his visit.After he left, the problem acted up again. I had an awesome experience with Homestead. We contacted them through the CT Energy Audit Program. They conducted the inspection and were very clear about which rebates or discounts we were eligible for. After providing us with all the information, they offered their services to us. The two technicians that came to my house were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I couldnt have asked for a better team. Homestead is able to perform the installations and put in for the rebates, so all you have to pay them is the price AFTER rebates, and they take care of the rest. I would definitely recommend Homestead to everyone. When I need my boiler replaced, I will be calling them first. -

My furnace shut down during the weekend. I called for service and a technician was sent out within one hour. The technician was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. The technician replaced the control and nozzle, cleaned the head, set pump pressure to manufacturerās specs, and performed an efficiency test. The furnace is running like new again. Great job! I called on a Sunday . The tech was there in an hour and a 1/2. He was very friendly and didnāt make me feel bad about the mess in the area. We were still moving things back into the room where you installed all the Pex pipe. He also looked at a leak under the bathroom sink . He tried to fix it . Itās still leaking but Iām not sure if he even charged me for the repair . I have to call about that . We are very happy customers. -

I had the annual furnace cleaning done recently. I mentioned how the furnace would run during summer days, I assumed for heating the hot water supply. Mike, the technician who has been servicing my system for years, before with Ireland Oil is very familiar with the Buderus system I have. He explained that the system does have a setting for heating the water only during times that the furnace is scheduled to run, rather the 24 hour setting I was using. Mike set it to the scheduled or Auto setting. The next day I had a question regarding that. I called the office and Mike called me back within a few minutes to answer my questions and concerns. Its great having a very knowledgeable technician on board. My experience so far (previously an Ireland oil customer) with the rest of the staff as been great as well. They accommodate my schedule, provide friendly service reminders and will acknowledge emails promptly. Ricardo calls when the technician is on the way, which is appreciated. I highly recommend Homestead Comfort. -

Our 60 year old house doesnāt have ducts or vents, and after a few years of suffering through hot summers, we had enough. We called for 4 quotes, and only received 2. Homestead has a reputation for being pricey, but of the 4 quotes (actual quotes and verbal estimates), Homestead did actually come out the cheapest.I was impressed that Jesse was trying to sell us the right solution. At first we were pushing for central air with ducts installed, but he explained the differences in efficiency and price and recommended a 2 head ductless system. We signed later that day and 10 days later, we had a working system. Within 20 minutes our 85 degree living room was 77. I wish we made this investment sooner.Installation: it was a one day job. Most of the day there were 2 installers here, with an electrician that came later. Everyone was professional and courteous, and they cleaned everything up after themselves.While Homestead didnāt spend the most time here (but certainly didnāt spend the least, either) there was no pressure to go one way or the other, he looked everything over, answered every question we had, and found solutions to make it work.The only minor complaint I had was that no one reached out for an install date, when I called to ask it turns out it was scheduled for later that week. Not a huge deal since we work from home, so it was a minor oversight that was a non-issue. -

Update 7/23When looking for a new boiler for my home I brought many different companies in to quote the job.Homestead was not the cheapest.But from beginning to end they convinced me that I was getting better value for my money than I would with any other company or system. Where others offered cookie-cutter systems, Homestead worked with me to design a system for my house and its unique requirements. They took the time to do actual heat loss calculations to properly size the system, where none of the others bothered.The installation included a new gas line to my house and Homestead made sure that went off without a hitch.Was my installation perfect? Nope. My first boiler was stolen on its way to their warehouse, the second one took nearly twice as long to be delivered as it should have. Each delay meant we had to reschedule installation twice.But once they actually received the boiler, the installation was completed on time. Our old boiler was removed and the new one was ready to make heat and hot water by 7 p.m.The crew returned the next day as planned and removed the old oil tank, finished their clean up and gave me a thorough lesson in the operation of the new unit.The new boiler should last 30 years, so I will likely never have to buy another one. But if I did, my first, and likely only, call would be to Homestead.Update: 7/23Boiler is still working perfectly. Cant say enough good things about the Energy Kinetics boiler. Its quiet and super efficient. I saved about $1000 last year on heating and hot water compared to my old boiler. -

Both techs were very knowledgeable and professional. Once the audit was done, I set up a date for them to come out and complete an insulation installation as recommended by the audit.Working with Homestead was one of the best experiences I had with a contractor. Before the work began, I had a question so I had called the office. I spoke to Jeff and said he would stop by and take a look. Come to find out, Jeff is the President of the company and came on site to take a look and answer my questions.When it came time to have my whole house insulated (blown in insulation in the walls, blown in insulation in the attic, bat insulation in the basement) the techs showed up as scheduled. Very neat, professional and a pleasure to have at my home. Each time they came inside they wore boot covers, they answered any and all questions we had, even made a couple small recommendations on a couple items that needed to be addressed.When it came down to billing, they could not have made it any easier. We were eligible to receive rebates through Eversource. Homestead took care of all the paper work and rebates. We only had to pay the net price after rebates. Another company we called required we pay the whole bill up front then figure out the rebate paperwork on our own.I would highly recommend Homestead for any services they provide. They run a top notch operation with amazing customer service and a president who goes above and beyond. -

We chose to go with Homestead after meeting with Andrew and he was great to work with figuring out what needed to be done as well as assisting in figuring out financing. When it comes to the work being done, Homestead did a great job since the previous system was 30 years old and the vents (especially the returns) were very inefficient. The Homestead team was prompt and very open on how things were going. Any mistakes or adjustments needed throughout the project were resolved or consulted on with me before proceeding. Now that the job is finished everything looks fantastic and, even though it has only been a couple weeks, we can definitely tell a difference using both the heating and cooling systems! I also had them install a new oil tank gauge that allows me to check how much oil is in my tank, daily use and keeps track of how many days till level reaches 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 of tank capacity, also a phone app. I also had the piping around my hot water boiler and water heater replaced after their service technician noticed and brought to my attention a number of fittings that if left unattended were going to cause major problems and possibly a flooded basement. I needed to replace my central air conditioning in my house. I called Andrew at Homestead for a proposal. Andrew inspected the existing system and wrote up a proposal. I compared it to other proposals I had gotten. The Homestead proposal was more through and answered all of my questions. It was also priced higher than the other proposals. But when you looked at everything they included in the proposal it was a much better system and well worth the price.I chose Homestead and I am really glad I did. Chris, Kevin and the entire crew did an excellent job with the installation. The 2 technicians Jake and Chad that showed up to install our ductless heat and AC system to be professional in every manner. They advised me on arrival where they would be working in the home. These 2 men instilled a confidence and pride in their craft. At the end of the day they reviewed their accomplishments and what time they would be returning and what the objectives for that day would be.It was a privilege to witness the pride they had in their work. This was just another extension of the experience with Homestead that was established by Jessie during the quote and sales process answering our questions.honestly. Our interaction with Toni in the front office though limited, they were professional and convinced us further that we chose well for a contractor for our split system. I called for what I thought was a condensation pump leak and needed help as soon as possible. Tyler showed up and assessed the problem (or lack of in this case) and replaced the pump with one I purchased for no charge. We cannot say enough about how amazing Homestead is. We have used them for years and anytime we need anything they are quick to help. This last time, we woke up in a freezing cold house (family of 5 and 2 dogs). We called early and they were here right away (before 8 AM). I have to say these guys really helped me out. They gave me a much lower quote for installing a tiger loop than competitors, and when our heat went down yet again the very next day (due to still needing the loop), they were able to fit us in that same afternoon. They even updated our oil tank to a more modern version that is less likely to suck in air for very little additional cost. We will definitely be giving them a call next time we need anything HVAC. -

We had an issue with our furnace. It had to be shutdown. It also needed to be replaced immediately due to cold weather. We contacted three different firms. Homestead representative gave us a quote, explain everything in detail and willing to replace it as red alert postponing other jobs as we had no heat. We signed contract as their quote was very reasonable. They very next day installed the new furnace. Their installers were very knowledgable, answer all our questions and very courteous. They explained everything after the new furnace started working. We found Homestead staff very professional, courteous and knowledgable. We highly recommend them for this type of work. -
