    I cant say enough positive things about CLS! Michael, the owner, was incredibly helpful, thorough, and the projects were well priced. We used his company for an overhaul of our entire property in New Market. We then used them for the installation of a fire pit. Finally they came out and cleared out our trail to a creek behind our cabin - had no idea it could look so good. If youre looking for a great lawn and landscaping company, look no further!

    We highly recommend CLS. Michael is very professional, helpful and thorough. He has both seeded and fertilized our yard. We are so pleased with his work that we have contracted Michael to mulch our flower beds along with a monthly weed maintenance contract for beds and gravel driveway along with structural pruning of shrubs. We couldn’t be happier with his work.

    CLS has been caring for our lawn for years, when Michael came to meet with us he shared that he provided services to the prior two homeowners! Michael is a clear communicator with prompt follow through. I appreciate the collaborative process, with CLS doing the heavy lifting tasks so that I can enjoy the lighter maintenance tasks. We wouldn’t chose to go with anyone else!

    I Hired CLS this year for the first time to do some landscaping work for me. I was immediately impressed when Michael showed up to look at the scope of work exactly on time as promised. I also noticed that he, the owner of the business, was obviously coming from a job where he was actively working. The dirt on his clothes told the tale. We discussed the work, which included, pruning lots of trees and bushes, eliminating weeds, mulching, laying decorative stone and gravel, doing some repairs to a patio and fire pit and also placing some heavy stones around the property. Once I got the estimate, I quickly paid the deposit and waited for the crew to arrive. They team that showed up was incredibly professional, hard working and polite. Michael himself did a bunch of the work and it was all of excellent quality. Once the job was done, it turned out that it took less time than was estimated, and I was credited a couple of hundred bucks back. I could see that this is a very professional and honest outfit not looking to charge customers more than is needed, but to be fair and bring value and customer service to the equation to acquire and maintain long-term customers, and that is exactly what they have in me. A few weeks later I called them back to plant some shrubs and they did a wonderful job. Michael provided great information on taking care of the plants and has always been easy to contact via email to answer any questions I have. I’ll be seeing them again in November to clear some brush for me. I am a loyal customer and was thrilled to find CLS. You will be too.

    We hired CLS for a landscaping project in the Basye/Bryce Resort area. They did excellent work and we are very pleased with the result. Michael Franklin and the CLS team were responsive and professional at all times. They worked with us to make sure we were on the same page as to the scope of the project and when the work would be completed. And they were true to their word! Would definitely use CLS again in the future.

    A great many companies toss out lines about “service” but few seem to understand what that used to mean in America. Michael Franklin and his team at CLS Landscaping clearly do understand, as the company tagline “Because service matters” was evident at every step in our recent experience. They came by to give me a free estimate, which they put into writing. We set a date and they showed up right on time with all the tools and personnel needed to complete the work. They were polite and respectful, we shared a couple laughs, but for the most part they went straight to work and ‘got ‘r done.’ They went above and beyond in moving a few timbers for me, and took the time to explain some forward-looking lawn care steps to insure I got the full long-term value of their work. I paid them in full, added a tip for the great service, and waved as they drove away.That was when the final touch of old-school class happened. I live on a mountain and the drive leading up is quite steep. That didn’t stop one of the young men who works for Mike from jumping out of the truck from somewhere down the road and running back up to the house to personally say ‘thank you sir’ for the tip. What that says about that young man’s character, and about the culture within CLS as a company, is remarkable. If the on-time, top-quality performance hadn’t already secured me as a loyal customer, the closing act of courtesy cemented CLS at the top of my list. Michael Franklin and CLS Landscaping will be my first choice for any work around my home, I will recommend them to all my neighbors, and I encourage anyone reading these words to give them a try.

    My husband and I just moved up to Bryce Mountain. We were looking for landscaping services and my husband saw CLS working on a neighbors yard. He asked for their services and we couldnt be happier with the results! CLS came out to look at our yard and they saw potential far beyond what we had imagined. We told them our favorite trees, bushes, and plants. They delivered that and so much more! They designed the job for free and then came and installed everything in just one day! I still cant believe this is my yard. They added flowering trees and bushes along our tree line and created an entirely new garden space where there was nothing before. They installed about 40 trees and plants for a very affordable price--much less than the competition. And, they gave us a landscape that is beautiful is all seasons. They made it so we would have something blooming in each season, all year round! I couldnt have imagined anything more beautiful! Thank you CLS!!!

    Michael and his crew did a great job with a variety of landscaping and hardscaping projects at our cabin in Page County this spring and summer.They planted privacy trees in several places on our property, installed french drains, and built two outdoor staircases - one on a hillside and the other down by the river.In all cases, the prices were reasonable, the work was completed in a timely manner, and it looks great! We were very happy with the entire experience of working with CLS and would strongly recommend them to anyone needing landscaping in the Shenandoah Valley area. They will be our go-to for future outdoor projects.

    CLS has turned my property into a beautiful getaway. I have been using their services since June 2019 and will continue to do so in the Shenandoah Valley. They removed all the dead trees and excessive vegetation, improved my driveway, built an effective drainage ditch, and takes care of my lawn while I am not at the property. Overall, you get great quality results and customer support in person and written correspondence.

    CLS/Michael Franklin is very professional and does a great job with our lawn. We are also impressed with his crew who does the trimming around the house. They use a leaf blower to remove leaves etc from the sidewalks, porch, and deck. Very thorough.

    September 2024. I asked Michael of CLS to handle a job for me in my yard and they completed it today. A portion of our yard has been a PITA and I needed a pro to step in. While it will take a little time to see the success of the new grass I was again impressed with the work performed by this crew. As evident from a photo taken from inside my house you can see they take the extra step to keep our driveway clean. They finished the job and in no time had any messes cleaned up that did not fall on the tarp. Mike and crew were easy to work with as well as very professional. ............(ORIGINAL Review) While only time will tell how well this new grass grows and fills in it has a good start and looks nice. CLS filled in alongside a new and long paved driveway. This job would have taken me forever had I done it myself and in reality I likely could not have finished it. The crew worked hard and completed the job in one day. I would not hesitate to use them again if needed.

    I have been using CLS to care for a 20k sq ft commercial bldg located on 2ac in Woodstock for over 5 years. As a small business owner I can appreciate the motivation behind many small businesses . Often the business owner who is successful operates with a passion about their services that exceeds all others. They have a desire to be the best, to always do the right thing, and have a fiduciary responsibility to their customers to care for their best interests. This describes CLS.In the time that I have been using CLS Services, I have felt that the care of the landscaping was something that I did not have to worry about. In fact I would get calls from Michael, reporting a potential problem and his suggestions on the best corrective measure. I cant tell you how important it is to have people around you that you can trust to take care of these types of things so that you can use your energy to run your own business. CLS has always, let me repeat, always... responded in the most timely manor to any and all situations that required his services. Several years ago I saw some bagworms in an ornamental tree, they were just getting started. I called Michael and he had a crew there that afternoon, to remove them and spray. That tree is healthy and alive today thanks to CLS.I guess what Im trying to say that I had peace of mind knowing that Michael was on the job.
