    I called and spoke to Brian, who identified himself as the owner. He was very personable even though I probably explained my issue exactly like a first-time homeowner who has never had to think about electrical problems in my life. Despite my stumbling explanation, Brian said he believed my issue was likely something caused by the electricity going INTO my house, which MidAmerican would fix for free. He very plainly did not want to waste my time or money if he did not have to and said if they cant fix my problem, to call back and hed come help me out. Well, he was right and I am so thankful for his kindness! I will definitely be calling Blackhawk when I DO need an electrician.

    This is my second time using Blackhawk Electric for varying services. Each time they’ve been great; I spoke with Brian on the phone, and Johan and Travis completed the work requested (this most recent time). All three men were kind and easy to work withThis last time I had them out to my home was to split one light switch into two for a fan and a light in a bathroom. Johan and Travis were efficient with their work and offered a fair price for the job.I’ll be having them out again within the next week for another service and I’ll be looking forward to another five star job done.

    Most outstanding contractor and team I have ever worked with. *****Wanted to purchase a whole house generator. James promptly visited and the company followed up with a quote. I had questions and was able to speak with Brian. He clarified some things regarding the generator and we also talked about what ifs??? He was kind and patient and took his time with me. Five stars for just that. *****I went with Blackhawk Electric & Generators because they helped me understand what I was purchasing and the service I will be provided. I went with a 18kw generator and they supplied the EMP shields that I additionally wanted installed. I didnt have any doubts that I made the right decision with product and company.Installation day was flawless. They arrived on time and went to work.     I contacted Blackhawk Electric due to their five star rating and some positive comments on the reviews. The reviews held true to their professionalism and great communication. I also had bids from other electricians to do electrical work for adding outlets in backyard for pool and new electrical panel replacement. They’re quote was by far extremely lower than the others. That was also another selling point. Highly recommend them for any of your electrical needs that you have. They worked their tails off and got the job done right. Brian, the owner, was wonderful with communication back-and-forth with any questions or concerns. I highly recommend them and will use them again for any electronic needs we have.

    We had a new sub panel put into the garage for our growing electrical needs. The crew arrived otime as scheduled, very courteous, very informative of all work being done and very clean. Not only did they install the sub panel, but they ran all the wire to that (approx 85 feet through basement and attic), installed an inline exhaust fan and new outlets for items, but they came in UNDER budget!     We made the decision to have a whole house generator installed. Blackhawk Electric was recommended by a friend, so we gave them a call. We were given a great bid for the job, and accepted. The crew arrived when promised, and did a fabulous job with the install! A month or so after the work was complete, we were contacted by Blackhawk and advised that a $200.00 rebate had been issued and was being sent to us. Awesome! Our generator system works perfectly, and we only wish we had done it sooner. If you are considering a whole house generator, I highly recommend Blackhawk Electric for the job!

    Top notch customer service! Our polyfoam concrete raising truck has a 22kw generator on board. After the motor on the generator died, I called around desperately looking for someone to service it in a timely manner so we could get it back out on the road. Blackhawk Electric understood the importance of getting it up and running asap. After speaking with them Friday afternoon, we dropped the truck off first thing Monday morning they able to get it in almost immediately. They diagnosed, resolved the issue and we are able to pick up the truck the next day. Highly recommend!

    I’ve been wanting to get work done from Blackhawk electric for a time as I know their company is great from working with them in a commercial setting. I finally scheduled them to install 2 ceiling fans for me. Sean showed up on time and was extremely professional and overall a great guy. While up in the attic he was able to tell that my attic fan motor had seized up and was able to fit that in the schedule of replacing it for me. No corners were cut by this company they do things the right way, and even go above and beyond. I appreciate the work they have done for me.     On June 5th, a storm came thru the Quad Cities and down a lot of trees and limbs. I woke up to a pretty big limb on the power line that was coming from the house to the main lines. I had no clue what to do! I call the Tree Trimming service then called the power company. They said that an Electrician needed to fix the housing unit that was ripped from the house. Anyway, I’m a Retired Combat Veteran and lets just say I was trying to organize the chaos. A friend of mine referred me to Blackhawk Electric and they were here very quickly to do their part! The chaos started around 9am and I’m happy to say that all of the downed trees, limbs and power was taken care of by noon. I remember it was extremely hot that day! So a huge shoutout to Blackhawk Electric! Thank you for being there for my family to including our animals that day!

    After the derecho that swept through the Midwest in August, 2020, left us without power for four days... and this was on top of the years and years and years of occasional power outages due to thunderstorms in the spring and summer, blizzards in the winter, traffic accidents that took out power poles, and sometimes a transformer exploding after an inquisitive racoon or squirrel got a little TOO curious... we decided we werent going without electricity again. The derecho was the last straw. I did a LOT of research into home-backup generators. Yes, of course, I looked at the heavily-advertised generator company that starts with a G, but... upon speaking to the professionals at Blackhawk Electric, I chose a Briggs & Stratton model. I made the commitment to purchase in September of 2020 and, because of COVID-19 affecting supply issues (not to mention the incredible demand for generators -- after the derecho, everyone in the Midwest seemed to have decided on purchasing one for their homes, too), we finally got the call yesterday that OUR generator was in and ready to install! We were ecstatic! What we paid was money WELL SPENT! The technicians came out, got everything installed, and cleaned up before leaving. (Actually, they cleaned MORE than they needed to... stuff that was our mess, not anything having to do with the installation, but these people are true professionals and thats the kind of service you get from people who really care about their work!) The system is online and I cant wait to be that guy... you know, the one who still has lights and air conditioning when everyone for blocks and blocks around is without electricity for days on end!!!I cant say enough how much I recommend using Blackhawk Electric! Cindy and Bryan were wonderful to deal with from start to finish, and the three members of the crew who did the installation and testing were all top notch!     My generator stopped working in the middle of a storm. I called at 7:30 am to see if someone could come out to LeClaire to help me. Luckily someone was in the area and by 8:30 am they had fixed the issue. They said a wire had gotten disconnected since they aren’t very tight coming from the factory. It was a simple fix so I was given a small discount on a price that was already less than I was expecting. The person who took my phone call and the technician were both incredibly nice and helpful. I will be using them for all future electrical work.

    So so happy and thankfull with this company and their fast response! Based off what I described over the phone they got Tyler out to inspect within 30 minutes. Tyler found a huge and dangerous situation with our neutral line being snapped. He called the electric company himself (it was something the electric company had to fix themselves) to make sure it was reported and get an ETA for me.
