    We acquired several quotes and estimates for a major demolition of original structure and screened in deck construction job. We chose Smucker Brothers based on reputation, competitive price and - most important - the professionalism and good ideas offered by Michael Smucker. We walked around the site with him while he surveyed the project. He listened carefully to our ideas and offered some different alternatives based on his experience. There was no pressure and we ended up adopting many of his ideas which were changes to our original plan.The proposal was detailed and straightforward and we signed the contract.The work crews were on time, clean and courteous, and extremely hard working. It was a pleasure to watch them work together. They were on task the whole day, took very few breaks, and end-of-day clean-up was always thorough. David Smucker was the site boss and ensured each day that we were happy with the progress and results. We were home nearly the whole time construction was underway and David consulted us as needed to make minor choices. e.g. Would you prefer X or Y for this detail? We really appreciated this close coordination. Alvin Smucker also worked on site a few times, mostly involved in the roof, soffit and siding. He offered some great ideas to improve the placement of the sky lights. The other workers, Mark, Leon and Sam were also outstanding. We also decided on an additional piece of work during the construction flow; to remove an exterior door and install a window in its place. Michael handled this easily with a change order to the contract and the guys did the work efficiently.Overall, this large project went very smoothly. We enjoyed the interaction with the workers and THE RESULTS EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS. The large screened in porch is beautiful and has better quality than our original home construction.     My elderly Mothers home was flooded during hurricane Helene her in Waynesville, NC. These men drove all night from PA to NC. Arrived with trucks, trailer, van and 8 men. They introduced themselves to me and my brother then started unloading their equipment and tools. Asked what we thought was important to get done and all 8 went to work and worked all day at full speed. Weve never experienced a team that worked so hard. They were very respectful, & friendly. Not one negative word did we hear out of any of them throughout the whole time they were here.Because of them, what was devastating and disastrous is now faith and hope. They saved our Moms home.At the end of a long hard day they went under the house into a crawl space on their bellies in wet muck and mud to pull out saturated insulation andplastic.We are so grateful for of each them for what they did for us, it is unbelievable miracle !Sincerely, Phil & Jean Migliarini

    Smucker brothers are best in class. We had a new deck built and couldnt be happier with our experience. Mikes knowledge base is great for laying out options and making recommendations. We were consulted at all decision points - even for the more minor details like the location of the deck lighting transformer and the angle of a downspout. Their attention to detail shines in their finished product. The workers were very friendly and professional. And they work fast! Everything was on time and on budget. Quality job all around. I will be hiring Smucker for future jobs without a doubt!

    Michael and the rest of the Smucker Brothers team have completed several outstanding projects at our home (Large, Custom Deck- Portico to create a covered front door- Installation of a new front door- stone fireplace wall with custom mantle).     The Smucker Brothers Construction team truly installed a work of art at our home. We started the process by outlining our goals and worked with Michael to refine the design and make it our own. We settled on a partially screened in, partially covered deck with built in grill area. Smucker Brothers did a custom made compass inlay for the lower area of the deck with lighted rails, sliding screen door, and fireplace. Everyone that visits compliments our new deck and wants to know who did the work. We are extremely happy with the craftsmanship but, maybe more importantly, that it was a pleasure to work with the whole team from design through installation and wrap up. The whole team was clean and polite and the pricing was very fair. We definitely wanted a higher end deck but at no point did we feel the price was creeping above what it should and when there were decisions to be made especially about cost of materials, we discussed it in a professional, polite, and fair way to come to the best decision. We would highly recommend Smucker Brothers for someone considering a deck project and they will be our first call when we want to do any future add-on construction at our home.

    We engaged Smucker Brothers Construction for a renovation project for a screened-in porch, sitting on a concrete pad adjoining our home. The project involved the demolition, rebuilding, and expansion of the porch beyond the pad.I found working with the Smucker Brothers to be a genuinely enjoyable experience. The crew was personable and demonstrated a concern about satisfying me as the customer.From our initial discussions, to the development of the design and drawings, and through the construction, the crew demonstrated attention to detail, and a craftsmens knowledge of methods and materials, and building requirements. They responded to changing conditions and requested changes creatively.They left the work site cleaned and straightened daily.For me, the icing on the cake were the township inspectors positive comments about the teams workmanship and understanding of the requirements.I would unconditionally recommend Smucker Brothers Construction.

    We had a screened in porch that was built by the original owners about 35-40 years ago.The concrete flooring flooded whenever it rained and drifted with snow in the winter.In addition, the dust from the woods on our property made the porch very difficult to keep clean.It was a part of our home that was hardly ever used, let alone enjoyed.The Smucker Brothers gave us beautiful 3-seasons porch and new deck using quality materials including Timber Tech flooring, Tongue in Groove Pine and double-paned sliding windows.The porch and new deck have been used more in the 3 weeks it has been completed, than the 7 years we have lived here.     Smucker Brothers did a fantastic job for us. We recently purchased an early 1800s home and wanted to add a large side porch to compliment the main front porch. It was important to us that the look of the porch, the design, materials and craftsmanship be seamless with the rest of this magnificent old estate home. The stone wall piers, columns, spindles, mahogany floors and tongue and groove ceiling all add to the authentic look of this porch and the painting and finish work are top notch. Our porch looks as if it was original to the house which was very important to us in keeping the integrity of the historic look of the estate. We could not be happier with our new porch, the quality of workmanship and the ease of working with Michael and Alvin. I would recommend them without hesitation.

    Hired Smucker Brothers to replace an aging wood deck with composite material and all porch posts and railings to aluminum, which was just completed. Mike came out for the estimate also brought up a few things he noticed that needed attention, job started a week or so later. His brother Dave and his crew were always on time every day and did a outstanding job from start to finish with such attention to detail, work site was always kept clean daily, Dave was always around to take questions or address any concerns. Price was slightly higher than some competitors but well worth it. I would not at all hesitate to recommend or use again. Absolutely a 5 star contractor which is hard to find these days.

    We have worked with many contractors in the past 20 years and none of them come close to the professionalism and work product Smucker Brothers delivered. We had a wonderful experience collaborating on the design and construction of our 4 season room, screened in porch and replacement of our deck. Michael was extremely thorough from the planning of the project to promptly answering any questions throughout the construction. The contractors were prompt, careful and when we asked for changes in the project, they were flexible or had great alternative suggestions. They always did what they said they were going to do and they did it on time! The materials that were used were top quality, their craftsmanship was excellent and their design gave a lot of character to the room. We have been using the 2 rooms and deck for several weeks now and it feels like we are on vacation every time we step foot in the new space!     It was a pleasure working with Smucker Brothers Construction on our detached garage project. Michael met with me repeatedly to talk through all of our design preferences before drafting up a set of design sketches and a detailed materials and price list for the structure. It was clear that he was very knowledgeable about building design and fabrication and he made some helpful suggestions that enhanced the look of our original design style. From masonry to framing to siding and roofing to garage door installation, all of the professionals who worked on the project were highly skilled and wonderful to deal with.
