    Michael and Rosa were recommended by a friend. We couldn’t be happier that we chose them for painting in our new home! It was kind of a last minute decision but they were able to accommodate our timeline and get the entire job done in one day! This included the master bathroom, two bedroom accent walls, and the guest bedroom. After they finished, there was no sign they were even there...except the beautiful, freshly painted walls! Even the curtains were rehung with care! We would definitely choose them again for future painting projects!

    Michael painted our house not long after moving to Durham. It was a relief to find someone who was fairly priced on services and easy to work with on everything - from payment, schedule of work, and changes that I made. Additionally, he does quality work, and not just with the painting. To me he stood out because he was very considerate on what rooms he painted and how he painted so that I could still work from home while he did his work. I spent a week with him in my house all day long and yet never felt like he was in my way. He was always respectful and courteous. I would hire him again and will, and I would highly recommend him.

    Excellent! Brush-up Painting has come to our home many times over the last few years to paint interior walls and trim, to scrape and paint outdoor trim and a deck. He includes the cost of the paint in his estimates. Michael Ashdown, the owner, does the painting himself and is so reliable that we trust him in our home when we are not there. We will continue to hire him and recommend him to friends.

    Michael is a wonderful painter to work with. I and several of my friends in Meadowmont use him for all our painting needs. His meticulous attention to detail is so appreciated. A lovely man to do business with and entirely trustworthy if you cannot be home all the time. He does a great job!

    We used Brush-Up Painting for some work on the screened porch and lower patio at our relatively new construction home. We had some mildew issues on the exterior doors and porch framing after less than two years. The Brush-Up crew did a great job of thoroughly cleaning and preparing the surfaces for a fresh coat of high-quality paint. They also moved our porch screens to the exterior of the porch so well no longer have to see the debris that gets caught between the screens and the framing. Michael communicated clearly for the estimate and to schedule the work, worked efficiently to get the job done, and was responsive to all of our questions and concerns.

    We met Michael when we had him paint a hallway a few years ago and he did a great job. We then had him come back to paint the exterior of our house and detached garage. He did a great job - and was very easy to work with. Cant recommend him enough!

    My husband and I give Michael the highest recommendation. He was dependable and conscientious and listened to what we wanted. Michael was so exacting with his work - didnt even put up painters tape for the edges. When he painted the interior of our home, he was flying solo because, he said, it was difficult to find painters that were skilled enough to do the job. Hes now working with Rosa and still getting excellent, excellent ratings. If you go to his website and scroll down, youll see the list of his awards. He was sooo nice and easy to be with. We looked forward to seeing him every day. If we need to contract with a painter in the future, Michael is the first person well call.

    I wont ever choose another painter after using Michael! I got quotes from a couple other paint groups before contacting Michael and not only were the other painters higher priced they were not as attentive to detail as Michael was. The questions he asked about our space during his walk through very much impressed upon me that he cares about the details and would do a good job. The day he came he worked so hard, taking only a short break. And got it done more quickly than I expected. He was professional the entire time. I look at the areas he painted and seriously cannot find the tiniest flaw. Im blown away. Weve been telling all our friends about Brush Up Painting and are already planning what rooms we want to paint next. You wont regret hiring Brush Up!

    We hired Michael at Brush Up for two big interior painting projects over the last ten years, at two different houses and through a move, and couldnt recommend him more strongly. Michael does meticulous work. In both jobs he spotted potential issues and discussed contingency plans right away. Hes honest, easy to work with, a good communicator, brings a good/skilled crew when the size of the job calls for extra hands. He and his team were great with COVID protocols and even finished ahead of schedule. Were thrilled with the end results. Definitely recommend!
