I worked with John to install two simple floating shelves on either side of my fireplace mantle. He was very responsive and easy to work with on the scope and vision of the project. His turnaround was quite quick for a smaller project like mine and he was in and out in a few hours.It was high quality work and I would certainly work with him again in the future if I had any similar projects to be done.Note: John does not paint any of his work, though he referred us to a painter that he commonly works with who we were also happy with.

John built a custom dresser/bookcase built-in for our primary bedroom. It was important to us that it matched the style of the original house trim work, and he was able to incorporate the original ceiling molding. He also created drawer fronts to coordinate with the trim on adjacent doors. It looks like it belongs in our 1934 tudor! We are thrilled with the final product. Thank you, John!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with John for a 2nd time! This time we had asked John to do a built-in for my office. John was very professional, punctual, efficient, on-time and affordable! It took him only half a day to do the whole project and left the room and our garage very clean His work speaks for itself and we are over the moon with the final product!! We recently had John make some built ins for our living room. From the beginning of the process John was easy to reach and prompt with replies. He made the installation work with my tight work schedule and we appreciate being able to customize the entire project to fit our needs. John is freaking lights out! He did an excellent job helping us define a funky space in our living room. He listened to what we wanted and executed. We have remodeled a few houses and John might be the easiest person we have ever worked with. He also works super fast! Knocked out this project from scratch in like 3hrs. Other carpenters took like three hrs of measurement just to come up with a bid.

We needed our master closet updated and decided to hire John as he could work with the extreme angles we had in this space. He listened to what we really wanted and was able to work with us to create a system that works great for our space. We were able to make changes as the closet took shape - seeing what would work and what was not going to work. In the end, its a closet that will work great for us. We know he takes pride in his work and if anything is not quite right, he will come and fix it. We highly recommend him for any type of build in/custom work!

We had the pleasure of working with John on a custom built in for our house. He was so incredibly professional and wonderful to work with!! He was punctual, efficient, and just all around easy to communicate with. We showed him ideas of what we wanted, and he absolutely delivered. I had a very challenging project to build custom bookshelves going 15ft high. John completed the work quickly and perfectly. He was very responsive, communicating his schedule, following up, and arriving on time. He is obviously very skilled and I was impressed by his expertise. I am so pleased with the final product, that Ive hired him to build a pantry for my kitchen. As an interior decorator it is difficult to find dependable and skilled professionals, and John is definitely someone you can count on. I highly recommend if you are looking for a master carpenter! I love how solid they are and cant wait to have them painted so I can fill them with pictures and books! John always does a great job cleaning up too. Quite frankly, I think our garage was cleaner when he left compared to before he arrived. And now I need to think of another project for him...

We had previously engaged the services of John Monks to construct office cabinets, which we were extremely pleased with. Consequently, we decided to enlist his expertise once again, this time for the installation of floating shelves. I am particularly impressed with their sturdiness and eagerly anticipate having them painted, so I can adorn them with cherished photographs and books. Additionally, John consistently demonstrates exceptional tidiness, to the extent that I believe our garage was even cleaner after his departure than it was prior to his arrival. Now, I find myself contemplating another project for him to undertake.

John is an amazing carpenter. He is incredibly fast, responsive, his prices are fair, and his work is awesome. We had him wood panel the ceilings in 3 rooms, redo the crown molding, and build a floor to ceiling bookshelf to hold a record player and albums. The bookshelf was built in under 6 hours and the ceilings/molding another 2 days. It all looks incredible. He also took the time to source a specific tongue and groove paneling for the ceiling, and when what we wanted was not available locally pre-made, he sourced a mill to custom make it for us. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone and we plan on using him again soon for other projects.

We recently got ourselves into a bad situation whereby we hired someone posing as a master carpenter to do a custom built-in media shelf system. Lets just say it didnt work out.Trim Works (John) came to the rescue. John is a true to life master carpenter. In about four hours he gutted the garbage work and installed a beautiful and functional built in media shelf system custom built for our den. He was on time, efficient, honest in his assessment of the project, clear about what would/would not work for the space, priced fairly, and delivered. I spent an hour last night just staring at his work. He turned an eyesore into a focal point.If you need something done right take a minute to read these reviews and call John. Trim Works is the real deal.

I was totally blown away by the work by this company. I needed some built-in shelves installed and I was having trouble finding a contractor to do the work. Then I found Trim Works Inc. The vast majority of contractors are not in any way this enthusiastic, friendly, fast and skilled as this company. If I had done this work myself, it would have taken me a month of weekends to do what John did in half a day. Reasonably priced, high quality, and very cooperative with your design needs. I have more projects that will ask them for. Thank you John!

John Monks is an artist and a master at creating high quality, innovative carpentry. He helped me a create a vision that my architect designed for an under-stairs book shelf and bench that would enclose a trundle bed for my nieces. We hired John to build a bookcase in a niche in our living room. Overall we are very happy with the work. John’s price was competitive with other quotes that we got. And his work is custom, as opposed to other companies which have fixed-size cabinets. John was receptive to our design ideas and incorporated them — pointing out areas we might have made a mistake (like the depth of the countertop).It’s important to know that John doesn’t paint his work. He has some painters he can refer you to. We went with one of his referrals and the work was generally good — just a little rushed, leaving some drips and marks that could have been avoided.John made a return trip out to adjust the door hinges and install handles. We really appreciated his responsiveness.We would definitely recommend John for bookcases.
