    I highly recommend Chavous Custom Contracting for anyone looking to get a deck built. Colin’s attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident. He put a deck on my neighbor’s house and I was so impressed with the results that I asked him to consider doing one for me as well! He performed the job quickly and efficiently; working solely on the project until it was completed. I am very happy with the results and would gladly recommend him to friends and family!

    I bought my first home about a year ago, and the one thing missing was a nice deck. I looked around and saw the reviews for Chavous Custom Contracting and gave Colin a call. He came out, gave an estimate and a proposal and I had a family friend who does decks come out for a 2nd look. The friend said to go with Colin, based on the quality of his other work, and the very fair price and I couldnt be happier with the result. Colin was friendly, professional, accommodating, and efficient. The end product is, in my opinion, one of the nicest looking decks in the neighborhood (based on the pictures in the other reviews, all the other nicest ones are his work too). I couldnt have asked for better service or a better result. I will be calling Chavous Custom Contracting first for all of my home improvement needs from now on.

    Colin built a deck for me on a rowhome in February of 2021. He built it through snow and was on time and responsive throughout. The utmost professional and very patient as it was my first time dealing with a contractor and had no idea what to expect day to day. Also he did it with minimal interruption to my life as I worked from home throughout. Two of my neighbors in westbrook park hired Colin after asking who built our beautiful deck.

    Colin did a great job tearing down our old deck and building a new customized one. He was easy to communicate with and willing to listen to and accommodate our custom requests. High quality work and fast.

    Colin was a fantastic choice in designing and building our new deck. Colin is very meticulous and a great craftsman. We originally were going for composite material but decided to go with pressure treated wood which Colin recommended. Colin is a one man wreckingball and went above and beyond, from sealing up our foundation so no animals can get under the house, to laying down top soil and reseeding the area that he worked on. Colin was a great choice and would recommend him 1000% for any big jobs especially decks. Fantastic job Colin.

    Can I say Phenomenal!!!Colin is a licensed, insured, skilled and detailed contractor. He provides clear details for the deck project. No hidden costs!! He always arrives on time and is extremely professional. He gets the job done quick. His wife is his awesome office manager! She always provides accurate communication and speedy follow up!!     We had Colin come and build a two-deck system with an accessible ramp in between. It was our own design and he executed it perfectly. Then, we had him come and build a screened in structure on top of one of the decks. Again, it was our own design and he executed it perfectly. Now he is renovating the bathroom so that it is accessible with a roll-in shower. It does not look like something out of a hospital and it is extremely custom. Colin listens to you, he is very experienced and that is why he is able to execute our ideas, perfectly. Hes my go-to guy for making the house accessible.

    Colin tore down our old deck and replaced it with a brand new one. He worked amazingly fast and did beautiful work. He even helped re grade the yard. Absolutely recommend calling him!

    My previous deck was outdated and deteriorating. After browsing online for local contractors and reaching out to a few, Colin was among the earliest to reply. He quickly provided a design and a quote. Colins honesty, commitment, and politeness stood out. His gave a competitive quote. He walked me through the whole process in detail. Once he started the project, he efficiently dismantled the old deck, managed to dig foundations even through tough rocks, and crafted a structure. He consistently arrived early each day, worked diligently, and meticulously handled each aspect of the build.Im extremely satisfied with the new deck built by Colin. I highly recommend him for top-notch craftsmanship because of his professionalism, integrity, exceptional skills, and efficiency.

    We had a composite deck and sliding door fresh install. Colin is an amazing craftsmen, his professionalism and knowledge are 2nd to none. Our initial meeting was frank and straight forward no BS, this is what it cost and this is how long it will take and the process, he did exactly what he said he would do every time. The deck was completed in the two week time frame with no issues and we even added an electrical package at the end and no problem he knocked out with ease. If you are looking for a contractor that you can trust and whos work and integrity is impeccable we highly recommend Chavous Custom Contracting. Mr. Chavous came out and did an assessment of my old deck, paid close attention what needed to be repaired and recommended a top quality decking for my back yard. He is courteous, personable and a perfectionist who takes pride in his work, I am so very pleased with my deck and his work ethics.

    Colin Chavous is a deck building machine. The guy is a genius, and you can see how fast his mind puts his hands to work. Colin was here everyday on time, working around the clock to take down our old deck and completely rebuild a new second story deck. This new deck is ROCK SOLID. Inspector was impressed and the neighbors continue to ask who built it. 10/10 recommend. He does not charge enough!

    We are so pleased with our new deck! Colin and Marcus finished the job in only two weeks. He kept us updated regularly on how it was progressing and made sure we were aware of any unexpected extras. We had a few surprises when he removed the old deck so he had to pour 4 or 5 extra footers. He made it very clear what the cost would be and we understood exactly why and what he was doing. Highly recommend!

    I had a problem, which was an existing deck that was only 6 years old and failing. The bolts were coming out. This was your typical NE Philadelphia Mayfair rowhome raised deck, so about 10 ft above ground. Horribly built deck that nobody would repair.I began a exhaustive search for a good contractor to build new. Colin was the second to come through and brought some Azek deck samples and a radiance railing sample too. I could tell his work would be quality after meeting him and seeing his existing decks online, specifically the rowhome type. His wife Taj guided me through the whole process and provided me links and info to the specific decking and railing systems they work with.Ok, so once the job started, I met his helper Chris too. He and Colin hustle and are like machines, clearly on their A game. Each day was a step forward and they always finished what they started for the day. I highly recommend Chavous Custom Contracting for your new deck.

    The day Colin came out and gave us an estimate we knew this was the company for us! I initially spoke with his wife to set up an appointment and she was an absolute pleasure to speak with.     Great company with great customer service. I recently purchased a house with an ugly awning that was home to bees, birds, and any other species with wings. I called Chavous Custom Contractors with my request to remove it and I recieved a reasonable quote and service the same day! Colin was fast, kind, and efficient, he removed my awning while having large bees fly past his face. I highly recommend this contractor and will be using them for other services.

    Chavous Custom Contracting did an amazing job with our new 16’ x 24’ composite deck. We are very happy with the final result!
