    Our AC stopped working and we called to get a quote from Althoff because we didnt like the quote from our current service provider. Our system was aging and we knew it was time to replace it. We called Althoff for a quote on a new furnace/AC combo. The comfort specialist came out the next day(on a Friday) and gave us options that were reasonable, and we got a new customer discount which was nice. Jeff was very friendly and went through all our options carefully. Once we chose our options, we were all set up for an install on a Monday. They even sent a tech out on Friday to put more refrigerant into our current unit to get us through the weekend AT NO CHARGE to us!The install day went smoothly, despite them having to rip out and replace a lot of old stuff to install the new system. Techs Braden & Shawn were wonderful people. They put down drop cloths around my home to protect the floors. The work was done with the utmost respect for our home and property, and they left everything cleaner than it was when they got here. The techs were very friendly, yet professional took their time to explain everything to us once everything was installed, and answered all of our questions. Every time I checked in with them when they were working they always answered every question I had. I am very pleased with their service and will call on this company for regular maintenance for our system.

    I had Althoff replace my water heater. The individual I spoke with from the office to schedule the appointment was friendly, professional and helpful in obtaining a preferred time. On the day of the appointment, Bob, the service technician, was on time and happy to follow the condo rules and regulations for the installation of the water heater. Bob was very professional, quick and did an excellent job on the installation and cleanup. I would highly recommend them.

    Our furnace failed during some very cold days, so we contacted Althoff. Theyd done work for us in the past, and we found them to be very effective and responsive. The technician came out, and fortunately we didnt need to replace the furnace. He went over everything with us before and after the work, and we found him to be very attentive to details. He explained what hed done, and he kept us informed during the process. I highly recommend Althoff for heating and cooling needs.

    I had an excellent experience with Althoff Industries! From the moment I called to the completion of the service, everything was seamless. They provided same-day service, which was a huge relief. The technician, Jim Richter, was polite, respectful, and incredibly knowledgeable. He went above and beyond by not only servicing my furnace but also replacing my thermostat.     They arrived on scheduled time, even a little early (not a problem) Got to work and made repairs, the Plumber needed to make a parts run for one part(it was a specific part for our toilet. Returned Quickly and finished repairs sooner than I thought it might take longer than it actually did.

    Jeff from Althoff’s came on time for his scheduled appointment and immediately understood what we needed. He did not over sell and reviewed the issues. He told me I would have pricing and options the next day which were delivered early the next morning. Their pricing for the job was 25% lower than another quote. He discuss options for additional energy savings and walked me through what is best for our house. Installation is already scheduled and looking forward to our new high energy efficient boiler for our geothermal heated walkout and garage.

    By far the best service in town. We have had Althoff as our heating and cooling specialists for almost 30 years and its because of their yearly care of our systems that the first ac/furnace lasted 26 years. Kudos to a great team.

    It was time for new HVAC. Ugh. Althoff was my was my second opinion. I had committed to another firm already but my building maintenance manager highly recommend I talk to Althoff. They sent someone that night! Thank goodness I did call them. The other firm tried to rush a really big bill$$ on me. Althoff, on the other hand discovered some overlooked items AND offered me more and better options that got me into this awesome Amana Heat Pump with comed and manufacture discounts. Althoff, without hesitation, also credited me for diagnostic , Freon charge and parts for my old A/C. Yay! They are super thorough and very professional. Gil, my sales tech was so nice. great as were the in total 4 guys plus Gil over the course of a week who helped me get a plan and the implement it all in a day. All on time 100 percent. They all loved my dog too.Super informative. Great finance options and it was 1/2 (we are talking a lot!) less than the other guys but more thorough and better options. I didn’t just get lower end like for like. I got new tech. Love it. I now have Althoffs maintenance program and warranty. I have real peace of mind. If you need anything the do as a service, it would be foolish not to give them a shot. I’m sure glad I did. Also, if your HVAC is end of life - the Heat Pump is an incredible option that can include tax credits, manufacturer offers, and comed discount/credit. The other guys didn’t even tell me about heat pumps or those options. The other guys rushed to try to get me installed that day so I could not look at optionsAlthoff May not advertise as much as the other guys but they sure delivered. I gave the crew a tip. They were great. 10 out of 10 on ALL measures. They made it all so easy. No stress. No pressure. Honest and helpful. This is a wonderful company. I offer my highest recommendation. Highly recommended!This company understands and provides service!!Second encounter.My hot water heater developed a leak this past weekend.A request for service Tuesday morning was answered by three that afternoon.By Thursday afternoon the water heater was replaced.Although they had not done the initial installation, they covered the warranty on the unit. Just installation charges.Integrity and service at a level that is scarce today.

    I busted a water pipe to my washing machine trying to remove an enclosure and of course it was after I got home from work, so later in the night! Althoff had a Tech available and was at my house and had it fixed pretty quick. Todd was super friendly and helpful to point out other issues winthin the area that needed to be addressed. It was all previously done DIY as I have not owned the house for long. When water wont stop flowing Althoff is the company to call! Thank you

    We bought our home 5 years ago & almost immediately both the AC units went out. My parents used Althoff, so they were the first people we called. We decided to enroll in their white glove membership to be safe (where they come out throughout the year and make sure all your units are running properly, change filters, etc.) but we werent sure if it was worth the investment.. 5 years later, we have needed to replace our furnace, water heater & filter, plumbing work that wasnt done correctly, and most recently our sump pumps after a storm caused a power outage. We called them at 12:22pm, and Michael Bombick (great guy!) from Althoff was here by 1pm, and replaced BOTH of our sump pumps AND added a back up battery with no extra same day charge, all because of this membership. The amount of money we have actually saved having this membership is astounding, not to mention the life span our new appliances will have given the routine maintenance. We are so grateful for Althoffs consistent and quality care. If youre a new homeowner, I would absolutely recommend!

    After calling several HVAC companies who couldn’t help us, we called Althoff out because our on demand boiler stopped working. It was determined it was not worth repairing. They recommend a Navien Combi Boiler which replaced our 12 yr old hot water heater and the 8 yr old radiant heater. The installer and service people were very professional and great people to work with. They did very neat work reorganizing plumbing from the old units. The new unit had a problem with the circuit board which they replaced with a new one. Very happy to have found them.

    I recently switched to Altoff Services to do my annual A/C and Heater maintenance. They came this week to do the A/C. they did a thorough job in testing my A/Cs cooling efficiency. they tested refrigerant levels.They removed the outside units shroud and thoroughly cleaned the unit. This was the first time anyone did that. I was very happy with the work they did.

    Alex Petriak came to our home for our yearly Heating System checkup and installed our surge protector on our furnace. He found our igniter was scorched and we accepted the estimate to have it repaired. He is very professional and polite.Josh Langley came out to our home and replace the igniter. He was very professional and polite. I asked if the water heater gets a checkup with our yearly maintenance agreement and he said they would check it with the A/C checkup. He checked the water softener and noticed it was low and put a bag of salt in the water softener.We are very pleased with the HVAC team at Althoff Home Services and will continue to have your team maintain our equipment to keep it running smoothly.

    Fantastic experience at every touch point with the crew at Althoff. From the call for service, to Jim the service technician, to Jeff the sales technician, to Jose Way the repair technician I couldnt be happier. Jim discovered our heat exchanger had a crack and was overheating and tripping off our 30 yr old furnace. Reached out to Jeff the next morning and his team had a new furnace installed *same day* during this arctic blast (I had shut it off after our carbon monoxide alarm started blaring).     Words can not express how grateful we are to Blake and Dave at Althoff for helping us with an extraordinary unfortunate situation. We closed on a townhouse over the winter only to determine that the AC was not in working order after the most recent heatwave. After having two other companies in through our home appliance warranty company and not being able to find a likely Freon leak in the fairly new system (originally installed by Althoff) we decided to forgo the appliance warranty purchased for us by a realtor and called Blake to beg for a senior installer/repairman to look at the system asap! Dave was sent over within a couple of days, found the source of the leak and repaired it, albeit by having to cut a hole in our newly painted ceiling! But we are not complaining because Althoffs customer service was superb, their ability to repair our system was remarkable (because Dave had to find the leak in the Freon line made by the prior home owners lousy repair of a ceiling water leak which caused a nail hole in the line) AND we can now face next weeks heat wave with confidence in the comfort of our cool home! THANK YOU ALTHOFF!!!

    On the hottest days of this year, so far, our central air quit around 2:30 in the morning and we had out of state family at our house.I called Althoff after we discovered the problem and they were able to send out a technician the same day. Alex did a good job isolating the cause and had the A/C working in short order. It did take the rest of the day and all night before the A/C got the house cool enough to start cycling the system, but we have had no problems since even though we have had two weeks of mid 90s weather.Thanks Alex,The Herods

    Late Sunday evening I ended up with a malfunctioning thermostat with temps dropping for the night. I called Althoff to get emergency service. Although I got quoted an hour to an hour and a half, Craig was over in 20 mins! He quickly assessed the situation. Provided me well explained options. I was VERY happy that Althoff offered the Ecobee premium, which I had been looking at quickly on some google reviews. Upon selecting this option, Craig went quickly to work getting the new device installed, while having me set up the mobile app in parallel for control. Soon I had a brand new thermostat up and working, with ease of use on my mobile phone. This is my 2nd time using Althoff, with them replacing my AC a number of years ago. If you are in their service area, I’d strongly recommend using them.

    Brian was awesome! But let me start with the beginning. AC goes out, I’m familiar with these systems enough to know it’s not something I can handle, so I get a recommendation from my neighbor. She tells me to call Althoff, so I get online and see that I can book an appointment online, this is win #1. Win #2, not only is the booking process seamless, it’s fast and simple. Win #3, on a Sunday, I get a confirmation of appt confirmation. Win #4, the next morning, I get another confirmation and some info about how much the diag will be. Win #5, I get a notification WITHIN the schedule window telling me Brian is on the way, and as a bonus it also tells me about his qualifications, experience and some personal hobbies, etc (this is a remarkable feature) ARE YOU STILL WITH ME? Win #6, he arrives minutes later, professional, wears booties, effortlessly diagnosed the issue, put up with the tight squeeze next to the fence and came prepared with the parts. WELL DAMN! Now here’s the thing, I know I’m paying a pretty penny for a $20 part, but honestly, the customer experience, Brian’s professionalism and my cold air is all worth it. THANK YOU Brian and Althoff!

    We had a boiler that was installed in 1996 and it finally exhausted itself and decided it was time to retire. Who could blame it? Let me tell you there are not many companies out there fixing old boilers in McHenry. Our technician was over the top fantastic! He explained everything. In incredible detail. He also gave me every option available. Althoff sent emails to us before each technician arrived with a picture of the technician/estimator and a bio about them. I dont know about you, but I thought that was pretty fabulous. We had 4 employees at our home over the course of two days and they were like family. So respectful of our home and floors - they took great care to leave everything in better shape when they left. They were kind, respectful and over the top knowledgeable. We know have a new high efficiency boiler and all new thermostats. They will be the only ones servicing our home going forward. We highly recommend them! Tim & Sherri Byers

    I first used this company in January of 2024 when my hot water heater blew on a terrible cold and snowy day. Althoff Home Services made the trek and installed the new heater when other companies would not due to inclement weather.Today I had a tech out, Jesse Hernandez, and I cannot say enough about how genuine and professional this gentleman was. The first thing he did was pick up and carry inside a large package that I had at my front door. He gave me a great rate, and even some terrific advice for how to install a faucet that I had purchased to install after he finished his job.If there is an Employee of the Month program or some other employee recognition program at Althoff, Jesse deserves it!We will be using Althoff for all of our home service needs moving forward.Nicely done.

    I had my HVAC inspection with Chris last week. This is part of the Althoff white glove service. Chris has worked with my HVAC units for almost one year now. They are aged and needed a lot of work. Chris was wonderful. He is conscientious and takes his time, but for the same token does not waste any time. I felt very well taken care of and I’m confident that there will be no unexpected and unpleasant surprises this year. I can only recommend the Althoff white glove service and I can highly recommend Chris as your contractor coming into the house.

    We recently had our electrical panel inspected by Todd C. and subsequently replaced by Teo A. both of whom were fantastic. Thorough, understanding and willing to explain the process. The department manager, Tom K. was very helpful with getting a generator for us, while the power was off. And everyone in Customer Service was quite helpful.It was a big project, but thanks to the Althoff team, we’re all set now, and don’t need to worry about potential trouble with the recalled box and breakers that the builder installed.

    We had a 20+ year old furnace replaced. Althoff Industries sent a Comfort Specialist (Gil Pena) to calculate what would be best for our home. He quoted us on several replacement options at a very competitive price, not so with two other companies. Althoff Industries showed up on-time. Very professional service tech.     Althoff replaced my malfunctioning furnace. The company impresses me with the overall professional manner in which things are done. The office calls or notifies me when or if something changes. I get text messages with a photo and some background on the technician that will be assigned to my service call. The technicians have all been very professional. The HVAC technician normally provides a business car, uses shoe covers inside my home, are well equipped with tools and test equipment and they know how to use them. I have found them to be knowledgeable of the HVAC equipment that I own. In the case of my replacement furnace the service technician measured my home to ensure that the equipment options he identifies are sized correctly for my home. He explained the differences between the options. Fortunately for me the replacement furnace was able to be scheduled for the day after my wife and I decided which option to install. The installing technician was very competent and respectful of my home. It appeared to be a big job to me, the new furnace was a different physical size. He overcame the challenges and we now have a new furnace that is working well.

    Althoff technician Scott Palmsiano came to my home to inspect my cooling systems. He discovered a problem with the wiring for my main central air conditioner right off the bat. Even though it sounded like the AC was working, only the fan was actually running. Scott was able to figure out what was wrong and fix the wiring problem! Then he inspected my second air conditioner. Fortunately, that one did not require too much attention. The whole time he was at my home [3+ hours], Scott was very professional and courteous and answered all my questions. He surely saved me a lot of money, time and aggravation. Had I not scheduled the inspection, I would have been without AC on the first hot days of summer; and I would have had a very costly service bill.

    I enjoyed the ability to track the progress of my electrician to my house. Chris McInerney was the electrician assigned to do my repair. He showed up on time. He was very friendly, personable and efficient. I will ask for him if I need any future electrical work done. I feel the $270 charge for the first hour was a little high though. I requested a quote for installing 2 light switch timers and was quoted over $1,000 for a job that would take Chris about 30 minutes to complete. I found the timers at Home Depot for $77 each and free delivery. Programming was mentioned in the quote...I can do the programming. So all in all the company does quality work but at a very high price.

    The technician was outstanding! He had looked up the repair history for our house before arriving and was aware of our two different a/c systems. The issue was with an a/c air handler suspended in a cramped attic that was seemingly leaking and was causing damage to walls, moulding and wood floors on two floors. He persisted until he found a crack in a pvc elbow, recreated the section (very custom), replaced it and then wrapped insulation around it. We needed a part for our furnace which he was able to drive to another city to get and install that day. We never had another problem the entire winter season.     We explained to Scott, the technician, that we had a gurgling in the main shower. He asked to see the sump pump room and noticed there was not enough air flow going through the pipes after turning on all the faucets and hearing the gurgling sound himself.     Quality and professionalism was expected and it was delivered without a doubt. Carl Baker installed a power vented water heater. Bob Johnson and helper installed the furnace and AC. They vented the the pvc towards the back of the house. They cleaned up Very well after themselves. The price was very reasonable.     I filled out their online service request form one morning around 8:30 or 9:00am on Monday this week for electrical service. Within an hour I had a call from Rachel who told me they could have someone over between 10-12 the same morning. Rachel was very pleasant and great to deal with!I then received a call from dispatch (sorry I dont recall the name) around 10:45am who told me the electrician would be on the way in about 15 minutes. By around 11:15am their technician Dave H. was here. Dave seemed knowledgeable, was very professional, and explained everything about my issue in a way that was easy to understand. Within 15 minutes he had it fixed and good to go.This was the first time Ive used Althoff, and based on this experience I would recommend them to anyone. If all of their employees are as easy to work with as Rachel and Dave, theyre doing something right!

    Our technician went above and beyond. Due to a different companys improper installation of the drain pipe for our new furnace 2 years ago, the furnace was misfiring and we didnt have any heat. He tested and analyzed the problem and did the appropriate repair. He kept us informed of everything he was doing and explained when we had questions.     Jim R. came to our house for a precision tune-up and professional cleaning of our A/C unit. He was prompt, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. He went above and beyond our expectations!     I have the annual service contract with Althoff. Chris came to do the service on my AC. He was very professional and took the time to answer my questions. After he was done, he explained to me everything he did. While he was looking at my ac he noticed a outlet cover had fallen off and was on the ground. He found a screw that worked and replaced the cover for me. That was not part of his job, he was just compassionate enough to do it for me. I am very pleased.

    My Second time using Althoff. This time for a plumbing issue with my toilet. What should have something simple ended being very difficult to diagnosis. I had several folks give me recommendations on the issue. However, none of them worked. Jim from Althoff figured that even though there were no clogs in the toilet or line that my toilet had an issue and needed to be replaced. He was the nicest guy and was willing to work with my traveling schedule to get it done. Now I’ve got this “jet propelled “ toilet that Jim recommended that works great. I really appreciate these guys. They are the only contact number I have for any plumbing , HVAC, or any service that they provide. Call Althoff first if you want the problem resolved the first time.     Mark called ahead to let us know his ETA, arrived on time and not only performed the required service for our A/C unit, but explained WHY the service was needed. When we grew concerned, later that evening, that the unit wasnt cooling properly, Heidi contacted Mark and Mark called us from his home phone, to explain how it often takes up to 24 hours for a home to be returned to a reasonable temperature. This is service that is above and beyond anything we expected and both Mark and Heidi deserve commendations for their professionalism, courtesy and kindness.
