We got to know them well, especially Shawn, during the year-long project and are impressed with their professionalism, quality of work, attention to detail and the respect they had for our home. Lost power on Christmas Day. Mid America said we needed new Main Breaker since the issue was on private property. Mid America reset old breaker and that lasted 4 days b4 losing power again. Since we previously used Powertech to replace a pole, we called them again. They sent Sam out that very day and by the time Sam left we had power again. Sam very thoughtful and informative. Although temporary we were grateful not to be in the cold. Powertech sent Shawn and Braden out within a couple days and they rebuilt and restored our power completely and updated everything since the breaker and box were over 50 years old. Shawn very professional and informative as well. I highly recommend Powertech you won’t be sorry.

I called PowerTech to fix a non-working light fixture in our laundry room. This was the first time I had used the company. The appointment was scheduled between 8 and 9 am today, Friday the 15th. Shawn called me at 7:45 to let me know he was on the way. Shawn and Braden arrived at 8:00 and fixed the light in about 15 minutes. They were both friendly and efficient. I will be using this company again and will request these two again!

Joseph did a great job installing four Philips smart ceiling lights, and redid the circuit to make it non-dimming. Two years ago, we had Powertech go through our house and check every circuit and switch, we had just bought the house and needed help. I was worried it would be an eyesore but everything turned out so much better than I thought it would. It looks really good on the inside, and on the outside they took care of my concern about the wires dropping down too low over the patio. We recently used PowerTech for a large kitchen/outdoor remodel we did on our house and we couldnt be happier! We had to completely replace knob and tube wiring in our 1937 house as well as move and add all kinds of wiring. I got a quote from another company that was over DOUBLE what PowerTech quoted me! They came up with smart solutions to keep our costs down and made suggestions to help our remodel come together flawlessly! I am so happy with the communication I received from the project manager (Scott) as well as the technician (Travis). I changed my mind and added things throughout the project and they were more than happy to accommodate. I had to work with multiple subcontractors for this remodel and this was the best vendor I worked with as far as getting me on the schedule when I needed them, communication and overall quality of work! I honestly dont know how you could find a better company to work with! 100% recommend this company and cannot say enough good things about them!

I was recommended by a friend that PowerTech in Council Bluffs had been very helpful when they needed service so I called for help with our situation. It was our situation that was complex and for which I had a great deal of anxiety over whether they would be able to help us or not. We dont live in Iowa but are helping our sister who lives alone, has recently lost her husband, and is in need of special care handling complex matters. I found the receptionist who answered the phone extremely patient, attentive and helpful. She listened to our concerns for scheduling, because we wanted to be in Iowa when the service we were requesting would be done, and conveyed our constraints to the service team returning to me with what turned out to be a great solution. The problem, intermittent outages of electrical service, turned out to be difficult to diagnose since it only affected one leg of the 220 service, meaning only part of the house would lose power. Special ground fault finding equipment was used and they coordinated with the power company to find the problem which because it was intermittent proved hard to catch in the act of failure. Not being able to find the exact cause right away and because the weather was threatening to turn cold, the technician, Phil, had the foresight to switch the heater over to the side that was predictably always working so heat would not be compromised while we sought the cause of the problem. As it happened, the power went out while we were visiting and I called PowerTech and one of the technicians immediately dropped what he was doing to come out and test while the power was off. This resulted in a definitive assessment of where the problem was. Adjustments were made on the power company side and we have not experienced the problem since. Thank you PowerTech for your flexibility and alertness to our needs! I cant say they will always be able to drop everything and run but I feel confident in saying that I was impressed with their willingness to try to accommodate in whatever way they could. The experience didnt feel like we were dealing with a big uncaring commercial company, it felt like we were being accompanied by friends who cared and were doing their best to help.

I would give these folks more than 5 stars if it were possible. I had a new post frame building built and needed power supplied to the new building. This included tapping into the main house supply and running a 120 AMP service to the shop, about 200 ft of trenched installation. The installation in the shop included 6 overhead lights, 2 ceiling fans, multiple 110V and 220V outlets, 4 external lights, and outdoor outlets, and a 220V ceiling drop for a car lift and an AC disconnect and whip outside (for later HVAC installation). From the beginning, with the visit from Dan to review the project and provide a quote, to the end of the installation, the service was absolutely excellent. Dan was very thorough in his review of what would be needed, and while I had thought through all that I would need, he provided some very good input on changes that would make the process and installation better. The actual installation went very smoothly, and Shawn and Cale were the consummate professionals. They were clean and tidy, the installation (external conduit) was very neat, symmetrical and even. Even with my OCD and pedantic outlook, I could not find fault with anything!!I looked at multiple quotes (4 different vendors, from one man operations, to a full-blown corporate outfits) and PowerTECH was the second lowest. I cannot recommend them more. Absolutely no hesitation and will use them in the future without second thought, should the need arise.
