    Tom, Jason and Guy were fabulous. They helped my wife, Elaine and I with a very difficult plumbing problem. We are very grateful as we would not have been able to use the shower or toilet.     I recently had an emergency plumbing issue at my house when my grinder pump failed meaning no water in the house could be used and we couldnt use the bathroom. After another plumbing company tried to take advantage of my predicament and overcharge me an outrageous amount for a new pump, I called Gerard for a second opinion. And boy am I glad I did. Nick from Gerard came out quickly, diagnosed the problem (I didnt need a new pump at all!), and set me up with a temporary pump while my pump was being repaired. After my pump was repaired, Nick did a great job making repairs and updates to my whole grinder pump set up and left the place looking even better than he found it. All for significantly less than the other plumber was going to charge me! I will call Gerard for any future plumbing or heating issues and I highly recommend that you do too!

    Moved to Sewickley in 1984 and quickly had a plumbing emergency- called Gerard Plumbing and NEVER looked back. For more than 30 years they were ALWAYS there to take care of any problems we had.     Great experience again. Had a plumbing issue and the Service Tech was great to work with - was super knowledgeable, he identified the problem quickly and fixed all of of our issues.     Gerard Plumbing & Heating Inc is an excellent and superb company!Everyone with whom I have spoken over the phone to make appointments has been courteous and helpful, especially Mercedes and Alyssa. The technicians are very professional. The Manager, Grant, actually took the time himself to check out my air conditioner which needed to be fixed that same day when all the other technicians were booked. He was fantastic with his expertise and with his resolving the issue immediately. He has done check-ups and work on our air conditioners and furnaces before and it is always assuring to have his intelligent presence. All the technicians under his guidance are terrific. And today, the technician Tom came over on an emergency call on a hot 93 degree day to fix our air conditioner thermostat. He was so kind in his taking the time to drive back to the warehouse to retrieve new thermostats to replace the old ones, to answer another question non- related to the air conditioners and also to take the extra time to fix an outside faucet which was leaking from a hose. He made a very important difference today for my husband, who can not be in a heated room. For that, I am very grateful to this company and to Tom for helping my husband! Tom has done work before and he was always very personable and helpful.     Service techs are very knowledgeable and professional! They helped troubleshoot and service my HVAC systems on multiple occasions. Prices are competitive and they are not pushy about getting the sale just to get the sale. If theyre making a recommendation, its because you legitimately need what theyre suggesting.     Nothing but great things to say about Gerard Plumbing & Heating. I had a toilet and new plumbing installed in my basement. Over the course of the 2 day job, Matt and Jason did a fantastic job of breaking the concrete, re-routing all of the plumbing below and above ground, refilling the concrete and installing the toilet. Everything came out top-notch and I am more than happy with the end result. For anyone looking for plumbing needs done right, this is the place to call!

    Bill W. was really wonderful. He arrived on time after a courtesy call letting us know when he would be here, and did his best to work around our family since we were all home. He was very polite in telling us what he needed to get the job done, and I felt the service he provided was done in a super reasonable amount of time. He double checked that we were happy before he left and even apologized for not being able to 100% finish his clean up job (putting clothes back in closet) since his hands were a bit dirty after the job - this was not a problem for us, and was very considerate. We will definitely request Bill next time we have plumbing needs.

    Gerard has been servicing our home for 33 years. I cant say enough good things about them. From the first phone call until the completion of the work they are everything you want in a business. On the rare occasion you dont get somebody on the phone they always return your call quickly, often within a few minutes. It isnt unusual for them to have somebody out to the house the same day. The work is always done efficiently and professionally. Regardless of who shows up to perform the work it is always spot on. If they have a recommendation you can have faith in that recommendation. The latest episode involved a leaking bathtub drain in the upstairs bathroom. Being that everything was original from when the house was built it could have been quite an ordeal to deal with. Guy and Matt took a look at it, came up with a solution that wouldnt involve cutting through the ceiling below and had it fixed within an hour.Owning an older house, I always jokingly tell them they are out here way more than I would like. Great people and a great company.

    Gerard’s have installed our heater, hot water heater, maintained our 24 year old AC. Always on time, knows their business, careful in the home, cleans up, quality workmanship, friendly, and never had to worry about them working on their own anywhere on our property.     It was a Stellar experience from start to finish. On my initial call I was handled with respect and courtesy, The young lady went out of her way to juggle some appointments and managed to have a technician at my home in an hour! When Andy arrived he was extremely professional, courteous and friendly. His vast knowledge was reassuring and he was able to diagnose and fix the issue quickly. He did a thorough job of inspecting the system and making sure everything was working properly and even provided tips and advice to keep it running well even though it is an old unit. I will definitely be contacting Gerard in the near future to upgrade my system to a new unit. Thank you to all for making a difficult and stressful situation come out smooth.     These guys are truly the best! Always on time and always professional. Even more satisfying is they are knowledgeable and thorough. We had a faint smell of gas at the connection of our outdoor grill. Upon inspecting the issue, Bill noticed the connection was not up to code based on the original install. He took it upon himself to inspect each and every gas connection in our home and replaced the valves/connections at each one where there was an issue. I cant begin to explain how important this was to our family and knowing these connections were now safe. Thank you and please dont hesitate to contact the folks at Girard!

    Very pleased with everything from the courtesy and ease of scheduling, calling me for earlier openings as they occurred, communication from office and technicians, promptness of arrival...everything. Both Jake and Nick quickly diagnosed my leak in what I thought was a main kitchen drain into basement but was actually an ice-maker line. It was quickly repaired and they discussed my concerns and options of future line replacement along with hot water tank replacement in the future. They also repaired my garbage disposal to prevent me from replacing the whole thing. Did not try to up sell services. Nick and Jake were fantastic...proficient, courteous, respectful.     We had a gas leak and Gerard came out immediately late on a Friday afternoon and outlined a plan to address the issue. They installed new gas lines into a house that is over 80 years old and made sure that our new lines were to code. They gave us a fair price and even came out to validate their work several days after the work at no charge. They wanted to make sure that we were satisfied and felt safe which was a big comfort to my wife and I. We look forward to using them again.

    Plumbing Service (6/12/20): I was in need of someone to service my main sewer drain in the basement and also to replace the water shut-off valves for my washing machine. Gerard Plumbing was recommended by a work colleague. I gave them a call to schedule an appointment for the plumbing situation (and an A/C problem - which will be covered in a separate review - both positive). The office personnel got me scheduled with ease. Bill, the tech, who arrived on time and ready to go was quick to action, clearly explained what was needed and how he was going to remedy the problems and was extremely professional throughout. All told - just under an hour later - everything was done, cleaned up and we were both back to our regularly scheduled programming. I will be sure to continue using Gerard for future needs and will highly recommend their services in the future. Thank you, again!A/C Service (6/15/20): With the change in the weather and attempting to use my A/C unit for the past few weeks - it had not been cooling very well or operating at all. Gerard Plumbing was recommended by a work colleague. I gave them a call to schedule an appointment for the A/C situation (and a plumbing problem - which I covered in a separate review - both positive). The office personnel got me scheduled with ease. John, the tech, who arrived on time and ready to go clearly explained his process to trace the source of issues with my A/C unit, what was needed and how he was going to remedy the problems. He was then quick to action while extremely professional throughout. After the initial diagnosis, John, took the time to review the basic charges and alternate options I had and upon completion of work also reviewed what he did again, what I should do on my own for regular in-between maintenance, and covered all of the itemized charges again. Again, John was extremely professional and obviously an expert in his field. Also of note: after completion everything was put back into place, secured, and cleaned up.     I had my AC inspected and cleaned today (6/16/20), and the tech ended up recommending I replace one part which I did do. The technician, John, was very professional and explained everything he was doing. He gave me great insight on what condition my unit was in and when it might need replaced. This is the 2nd time I have used Gerard, the other was last fall when I had my furnace inspected and clean, and I have been very happy with both techs and the work they performed. Highly recommend them!

    These guys were awesome!!! They came out quickly as we thought our sewer line had collapsed.     I called Gerard when I had a backup in my line that left us with a real problem. A technician arrived and worked for several hours, but still couldnt get the pipe to clear. The owner came the second day with a different piece of equipment and worked diligently until he fixed the problem and got everything back into working order. I was happily surprised that he didnt charge me anything for the first technicians time and efforts, but he felt that it was his responsibility for the first plumber not having the right piece of equipment with him to effect the correction. I dont know too many companies that would do that. They are an honest company. Integrity is everything to me, and they have it.

    A truly honest plumber. We had no hot water and thought it was time to replace our hot water heater. They come within 2 hours of our call…and tell us that it’s because the gas to the hot water heater is off. (The bright blue knob is at the perfect level for a certain 4 year old’s hands and is easy to turn…)They totally could have just replaced it and we wouldn’t be the wiser. They have my business for life!

    Needed main trap in house replaced! mine was terracotta pipe was cracked and shifted. Unfortunately it was 14 feet deep.Eric came scoped the pipe gave me a estimate and was there to start in less than a week.all of his crew were very professional and keep my wife informed of everything they were doing.They had to dig a 14 deep by 10 long ditch to replace the trap and bring it up to 2020 codewe were only down water and drain for very little time during the whole replacementthey replaced the trap added the new cleanout and vent pipethey replaced the dirt and its like they were never thereI will definitely use again for and little or major plumbing issue againI highly recommend them to anyone needing plumbing issues fixed and or replaced

    My intake plumbing system was revamped. Almost a brand new intake system. Old galvanized pipe was replaced with copper. Corroded shut-offs were switched out for new more accessible shut-offs.     Our furnace died late afternoon on Monday 1/28/19 went the temperatures outside were dropping and we were going into the polar vortex. Husband called and they came out Tuesday morning and as suspected the old furnace needed replaced. We received a new furnace on Wednesday 1/30/19 during the sub zero temperatures. We got a nice furnace. It is a lot quieter than my previous furnace.The installers were very polite, courteous and clean trying not to dirty my floors even when I told them to not worry about my floors. The removed the old furnace. They cleaned everything up. My husband and I would highly recommend Gerards. It was our first time using them and we will use them again if needed.
