I had a great outcome from Joe Vouis. We had Joe replace our stairs, master closet shelves and install a fireplace mantel with built-ins. Joe handles all the carpentry and then I had a crew come through after for patching, sanding and painting. Joe was very timely and sent me a Lowe’s shopping cart to purchase all the wood and materials from. Lowes delivered to my home and Joe setup shop in my garage and completed all of these jobs in about 6 days. See attached photos for the progression of each project.

Very satisfied! Did a fantastic job, very prompt with text messages, scheduling, communication. Pricing very fair. And this was a tough job! 1890s house (nothing in this house is square!) with a complicated staircase in a tight spot, and that needed to be completely removed and redone structurally. Adapted design as needed once the under structure was discovered, got creative with how to do handrails in such a tight space. Easy to work with for design ideas, very responsive to changes in plan. Would definitely recommend!

Joseph was very easy to work with, very very fast, and did a great job! He upgraded our middle handrail, the rails behind our living area, and the baseboards. (They arent stained yet as you see in photos, but he knows somebody that can do it for you). Our handrail in our split-level home was completely broken and loose and I recently got knee replacement surgery. It was very hard to get up and down the steps with nothing to hold onto. We had been wanting to an upgrade for awhile, but now it was a necessity. Joseph was able to get in and get it done a couple of days after our request. My elderly mother was also coming into visit as well, so between that and my medical needs, he REALLY helped us out a lot by building a solid structure quickly to use, as well as giving it a total visual update as well that looks outstanding. He also added an extra piece to get the hand rails up to code and be safer (The previous owner made a lot of bad building decisions to flip the house quickly). His prices were fair, affordable, and came in under the other builders we had talked to before as well. Thanks Joseph!

Joseph was very responsive in the early stages of planning my project to build a wall bookshelf. It would be a unique project in that the wall was attic-like in shape. He gave a competitive quote and was available to start in a reasonable amount of time. While working on the project, Joseph noticed our room was missing shoe mounding and offered to install some for free. He also accommodated a few changes to the project midway through. I would not hesitate to work with him again on a project.

I hired Joseph to build a custom built in cabinet/shelf unit. He was very helpful with me in determining the right materials to buy and even helped me by buying some himself and picking them up because they wouldn’t fit in my car. He and his team showed up right on time and were actually able to move their schedule around to accommodate me quicker than expected. They made extra effort to make sure there was no mess and kept me in the loop for every decision. I am very pleased with the work they did for me and feel it was great value. He was also very transparent with his materials cost and had a receipt for every purchase (and deducted the pricing for things he didn’t use). Vouis Trim is a very hardworking and trustworthy contractor and I would recommend them to others based on my experience.

Joseph completely rebuilt my existing first floor staircase. From stringers to treads, handrails to balusters, he rebuilt over a 5-day period, with exquisite craftsmanship. Hes very detail oriented and meticulous which is exactly what you hope for when youre after a high-quality carpenter. He was also a very transparent about what he does vs doesnt, showed up when he said he would, and completed on the timeline initially communicated, albeit we ran into a few unexpected hurdles that he was able to navigate around without delay. The cherry on top was his fair pricing compared to competitors. I plan on leveraging Josephs skill set for other projects in the future.

However, if you have to wait a bit to get on their schedule I would wait…it’s worth it for the high level of craftsmanship you receive. I cannot say enough about how great the experience was - if you are looking to have finished carpentry done you must use Vouis Trim Carpentry!!!

These guys were fabulous! Couldn’t speak more highly of them. After I initially reached out online, I received a response within 24 hours, had an estimate for work that same week—I was able to send pictures and measurements so they were able to provide that to me very quickly, and they came out about a week-week and a half later. To make my life easier and make things more budget friendly for me, they were able to send me an email of exactly what I would need material-wise to get my projects (custom shelving with cabinets, stair rails, and redoing stairs) completed so I avoided mark-up costs. They were on time, extremely polite, cleaned up EVERYTHING (literally covered my flooring, cleaned up sawdust, etc.), and their pricing was very reasonable. I definitely look forward to future projects with them and will be recommending them to anyone looking for carpentry or remodeling work.

I even searched Amazon and we all know if you cant find it on Amazon it doesnt exist! Ran across Vouis Trim Carpentry and sent Joseph a text telling him what I wanted. Sent him a picture and he was like sure no problem. Im thinking ok we will see. He came over today, took a look at the furniture, went and pick up the supplies needed, came back and unloaded his tools. Next thing I know he created the legs, stained them, and installed them in no time! Needless to say he is coming back to do some more repairs for me. My dad use to say you dont have to eat a whole cow to know you are eating beef. From this project I can tell Joseph is the truth. So if you need any carpentry done Joseph is your guy!
