    As a single woman with kids, inviting a stranger into one’s home can cause some anxiety. When I spoke with Dusty on the phone about my project, my first impression was that he’s knowledgeable, conscientious and a genuinely likable guy. Upon meeting him at the door, I felt comfortable with him being in my home while my kids were present and I didn’t feel like I needed to supervise or check on him.Dusty took great care in ensuring my project turned out perfectly. His attentiveness and patience with my numerous questions was a bonus. He was also accommodating when my project needed more of his time and expertise than I had initially requested.I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet Dusty and I would recommend him to anyone seeking a professional trim carpenter.

    We are so pleased with the quality carpentry work from Dusty and Christina from DF Carpentry. They were integral in our project as we tackled replacing all of the orange oak doors, trim and baseboards in our home. Dusty was very responsive to emails and texts and was great with checking in while we were on a pause and waiting for doors. They replaced 9 doors, 3 closet doors and so many feet of door/window trim and baseboards. Dusty is easy to work with, respectful and clean. If you want quality carpentry work and want to work with someone who will return your call, call Dusty!!!

    I hired Dusty to install baseboard trim on most of the house and crown moulding on the kitchen cabinets. He did an excellent job on the project, the cuts and corners were tight and it looks as it should. He knows his craft and it shows in the work he does.Dusty was a pleasure to work with. He is trustworthy, down to earth, very easy to work with, plus hes a nice guy. During the project I decided not to do something that was pre-planned and immediately he knocked off the labor charges which would have incurred, I didnt have to ask which was nice. I do a lot of DIY projects myself so I feel I know what excellent work looks like and Dusty came through for me. You can be assured youll be pleased with hiring him. When I redo my staircase I will be hiring Dusty to do the work.

    After living without baseboards on our main level for close to 2 years after getting our floors refinished (we had grand plans of doing it ourselves), we just decided to hire a professional to get the job done quickly.I found DF Carpentry by doing a search on Google Maps for trim carpenter. I contacted a number of different places and Dusty was the first to answer the phone and speak to me. That was a huge win for him in my view.Below are a few positives and one negative (minor) of our experience working with Dusty.Pros:- Quality Work: Dusty and Christina did a great job installing and casing 6 new, solid core doors and one pocket door as well as installing 350 feet of baseboards and quarter round shoe.- Responsive: One of the main reasons we went with Dusty was because of how responsive he is. You could reach him by phone and text and he was prompt to return missed calls.- Pricing: Despite not getting additional quotes, his pricing did seem fair and his responsiveness was worth something to us as well. Additionally, he is transparent about his pricing over the phone which allows for you to get a ballpark estimate for what the cost of the project will be. (For a formal quote you do need to pay a consultation fee - noted below)- Coordination: He also coordinated with our chosen painter (to paint the trim and doors) to give them updates on when he will be wrapping up with the project so that they can get started shortly after he finishes.Cons:- Although he is transparent with pricing, he does charge a $250 consultation fee / design fee to formally scope a project; however, he does take it off the bill if you do decide to go with him.I understand the reasoning for it as it does deter people from just getting a bunch of quotes for their project and reduces the amount of free labor he does. He has a ton of work, so it also allows him to focus on projects that are more likely to result in work for him. I just prefer free estimates. Obviously it wasnt a deal breaker for us.Overall, we are very pleased with Dustys work and plan to work with him again in the future to trim out and install new doors in our basement within the next year or two.Ill add some photos once the painters are done with their work. Dusty finished last Friday and the painters are working today, the following Monday.

    Dusty at DF Carpentry did a fantastic job for us. We had a room full of floor to ceiling windows that he replaced the trim around. They are at odd angles and were not installed uniformly by the original builder in the 50’s but Dusty spent the extra time with custom fitting and made sure everything was perfect when he was done. Very responsive and punctual. I couldn’t recommend him more and wouldn’t hesitate giving DF Carpentry a call for our next project.

    Dusty and his team did an amazing job installing our doors and baseboard/window trim to finish off our basement! Dusty is top notch - extremely responsive, very knowledgeable, willing to explain and discuss options, and his overall craftsmanship and attention to detail is excellent.     Six months ago, I didnt know what finish carpentry even was. But then we needed doors and trim and baseboards in our newly refinished basement, and I went searching on The Internet for help. Thank you, The Internet, for connecting me with Dusty. Im so pleased!I spoke with a guy from a different business, but he seemed entirely disinterested in doing this project for us. I had to remind him to schedule a walk-through, I had to remind him to send us a quote. And then he ghosted me. Rude, bro.Thankfully, I found Dusty. He was so, so responsive. He got back to me immediately about the project, we went back-and-forth about the details, and then he sent me a super reasonable quote. He helped us coordinate the painting, scheduled everything, and communicated about timing at every turn.Best of all, he and his crew did a BEAUTIFUL job. Seriously, I hardly recognize our space its so well-done. They finished when they said they would, cleaned up the space really well, and were overall super great to work with.13/10 would recommend.

    We hired Dusty to install new preassembled kitchen cabinets/crown molding we had ordered online. Of all the contractors we worked with throughout our remodel, he was by far the most professional and friendly. We considered several installers but ultimately chose Dusty because he was so detail-oriented and responsive and also quoted us a very reasonable price. Since we ordered our cabinets online, he helped us verify all our measurements and make sure we were getting all the right pieces. We really appreciate how communicative, proactive and flexible he was throughout the process, and we love our new cabinets! We’ll be sure to hire DF again for any future projects!

    Loved working with Dusty! We worked with him on a basement finish, he did all of our trim work and doors. Not only was he polite and professional, he was instrumental in helping me solve some minor problems with the bulk heads in our basement. He was also so patient with me as I tried to figure out a particular door in the basement, I must have changed my mind three times! But Dusty was always understanding, quick to respond and he even helped me come up with a solution when the framers made the opening too large. He wasnt the least expensive bid that I got (I got three quotes), but I felt like his prices were more than fair and he did great work. Also, for women looking to manage their own projects - he never deferred to my husband or talked past me. He never talked down to me or assumed I didnt know anything. I happen to have some knowledge in the field and when I was meeting with carpenters to quote my project it was important to me to work with someone who could work efficiently with a woman and wouldnt do things like mansplain or over charge me for things just because they think I dont know better. Dusty never did those things and was great about asking my opinion, offering solutions, and explaining small issues he ran into. I would highly recommend working with DF Carpentry!

    DF Carpentry LLC installed 8 interior doors in a 1957 Rambler House. Dusty the owner did all the measuring and sizing of the all the doors. Dusty cut all the mortises for the hinges and all the bore holes and latch bores for the door handles and latches. Dusty cut all the edges on each door to size the doors properly so they fit in all the existing door openings. Dustys work really met my expectations. All the new doors Dusty installed fit far better than the existing doors that Dusty replaced. Dusty fixed preexisting conditions and all the new doors fit great and opened and closed without issues. After about a month and a half a small portion of an upper corner of one door started to hit the door jamb on the striker side. I called Dusty and he came out and fixed the issue in no time. That is the most important thing in my view from a vendor or business is that they stand behind their work and support the customers they serve. Dusty did that and that stands out. The minor issue of the door was likely multifactorial, older home, summer humidity, etc, but Dusty was there from start to finish and whenever I had questions or concerns. I would definitely hire DF Carpentry with any finish Carpentry needs I have in the future.

    Dustin installed shiplap and did another small project in our basement. He was great, never made us feel like a small project (even though I am sure we were). Very punctual, responsive, professional, particular, and fair to deal with. Would definitely use him again and recommend him.

    Excellent work by Dusty and his coworker. Very open to suggestions, showed up when scheduled. Went out of his way to solve or correct a problem. Price very reasonable for the quality of the work.
