    I had the pleasure of working with Ken from Fun Outdoor Living when we decided to purchase our hot tub. He worked closely with my wife and I to choose the right spa per our requirements. We had a very unique install as we were dropping the hot tub on a raised platform deck with a roof. Ken had his team work through all the details and did the install flawlessly without any damage to our backyard while working through very tight spaces. My family has thoroughly enjoyed our new hot tub. I recommend Fun Outdoor Living and working with Ken as the product and the customer service was top notch

    Adam Kruse from Fun Outdoor Living (FOL) helped me craft a vision to redesign my backyard patio with a roof and create a new walkway. Matthew Krause was the primary project manager on this job. One of their superpowers is excellent craftsmanship with high-quality materials at a fair price for the value.I have a high bar for quality service, especially given the investment that we make in our homes. The work done by the crew of masons, siding SME, electrician, and painter are some of the best that I have seen thus far. Their crew is licensed, diverse, customer focused, and professional. See before and after photos. They addressed concerns that I had along the way. Dont go the cheap route. They offer a warranty with their work as well.

    Replacing our 20 year old spa was a spontaneous decision. We thought about it, but knew the prices would be an astronomical (and they are), but it was well worth it. Adam Kryse helped us with the purchase of our Vanguard. He was with us every step of the way. J’Essence was a great communicator and constantly kept us in the loop with status and scheduling. Everything was seamless, from financing to delivery to setup. A wonderful experience and a great group of people. Would recommend Fun Outdoor Living without a doubt and We love our new Hot Springs hot tub!

    So once we decided on what we would like, we talked to the folks at Fun Outdoor Living, Our designer was Adam Kruse, he did an outstanding job of making sure we would be happy with not only design but patio colors and landscaping. There was a bit of a wait but once they got started it was completed in no time at all. Adam made several trips to our home before, during and after, he did an excellent job answering my text and always in a timely manner. The inner ceiling of our pergola was contracted to another company and they were really wonderful to work with as well, they even hung our ceiling fans for us (including putting them together). Bottom line here is I would use FOL again, and I do recommend them, but be patient, dont be in a hurry. The finish product will be worth the wait.

    Fun Outdoor Living recently completed an amazing backyard renovation for us and we could not be more thrilled with the results! Theyve turned our tired old pool and deck into a backyard you never want to leave.. We had an uncovered deck for 23 years which they removed and masterfully built a huge 21 by 16 screened porch, and removed the concrete decking around our pool and installed a stunning techo bloc paver patio, walkway, retaining wall and walkway. Our initial contact was Adam Kruse who helped us design exactly what we wanted and put everything into motion. Once the project began Brian Beilke took over and managed the project from start to finish. Both were professional, on time, highly communicative, informative and really made this the best experience I could have imagine. A huge thank you to Brian / Adam and their entire team of office staff and contractors, I would highly recommend them to anyone..

    Can’t say enough about Fun Outdoor Living. Highly recommend! Our previously unusable backyard has now become our favorite spot to be thanks to Andre, Oscar and team. Andre worked with us through several iterations of plans looking to maximize the views while dealing with a number of challenges including steep inclines & minimal access. He provided a number of options and would offer up suggestions to make things that we wanted more economical or better alternatives to achieve the same end goal. Oscar, John and Oscar Jr. completed the work quickly and left the area tidy each night. Andre was accessible and flexible - meeting with us on the weekends and evenings. Hot tub arrives in July.

    I highly recommend Fun Outdoor Living for your backyard project. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough inspection, the team leader on each project provided fantastic communication with what was to come and when. Their attention to detail, and professional approach with a very personal touch made the whole experience pleasant and rewarding. I went with pavers, and a fireplace, as well as a Hot Springs Spa and could not be happier. Landscaping fixes and follow up customer service were an added bonus to justify this solid 5 star rating.

    Purchased a new Hot Springs Envoy Salt Water Hot Tub at the new Fun Outdoor Living Monroe NC location and was entirely pleased with its installation and operation. Months later however, our tub began having difficulty maintaining chlorine. My wife and I took a water sample with us to another, Charlotte, location because it was near where we running our errands that day. Ken Hormel greeted us and was happy to test our water and help us, even though he was not the person who sold us the spa originally. He knew the full history of the water quality in our area, and determined that the phosphate content had increased because of new equipment our county had recently purchased and which they were having difficulty getting fully operational. Ken went into great detail with us explaining the numbers on our water analysis, and then showed us how to fix the problem. We went through the full procedure he outlined, and within the 48 to 72 hour timeframe he gave us we were back to normal. Thanks Ken! U R the Best!!

    Adam helped us every step of the way with our hot tub purchase as well as the design process for our new backyard patio. He listened to what we wanted, offered suggestions, and was able to show us a computer rendering of what the patio would look like. We couldn’t be happier with the final results! Follow ups have been frequent and he is very quick to answer any questions we have had regarding our hot tubs maintenance. What started out as a new hot tub purchase turned into an incredible new hardscape patio and no-maintenance screened porch. We couldnt be happier. Lets start with Ken in the showroom.     For our first major home project, Fun Outdoor Living turned a nervous purchase into a five-star experience. Our new patio with a fireplace and roof extension came out above and beyond our initial expectations.Communication throughout the project was stellar with text notifications of when contractors would arrive, inquiries about small project scope changes answered by the project manager quickly and clearly if extra costs would be incurred, and an online portal which made document signings, project schedule, billing deadlines, etc. perfectly clear and easy.This team truly prioritized our vision and complimented it with their project management experience.     Contacted Fun Outdoor Living about Hot Springs Spas information in January, ahead of our March 2024 move to NC from Maryland. (Enjoyed a Hot Springs hot tub for 16 years before selling our house). Dustin J. was knowledgeable, focused on us, and his efficient professionalism alleviated any stress from shopping long distance. No pressure, no sales tactics, nothing but a professional who treats people like family from an inquiry. We knew the Highlife series was for us, purchased an Aria and cant wait to delight new to us in the salt water system!

    Bought my Bull Brahma BBQ from FOL and love it! It cooks just like advertised. FOL delivered and assembled the unit as promised and hauled away the boxes. They accidentally left the wrong cover and I initially had a bit of a challenge getting the salesman to call me back. However, Jay (who handles the delivery setup) got Andre (General Manager) involved and they promptly swapped out the right cover. Very happy with everything after Jay and Andre made everything right. I recommend this store.

    Fun Outdoor Living in Pineville did an outstanding job on our patio. It was good communication throughout the entire process, especially with Adam. One thing I like about Adam is he was the salesman, but he didn’t just pass us on after the contract was signed. He stayed in contact until it was complete. We purchase outdoor furniture from them and the wrong chair was delivery. Adam communicated this and promise to get us the right chair. He dropped the chair off today around 830pm.     When I was looking for my spa I went to nine different dealerships. When I finally met Ken at outdoor living he was so knowledgeable and their Spas quality are better than anything else I looked at. The team that came and set it up was very professional. Getting the spa set up was as easy as can explain it was going to be. I had a few questions a couple weeks after using the spa. When I called Ken we walked through my questions in about 5 minutes and he was extremely helpful explaining the few things I didnt quite understand. I am extremely happy with my Hot Springs Spa I believe that I will not be needing to buy a different Spa ever again. Many thanks to Ken and his line of Hot Springs Spas.

    We purchased a hot tub through Ken at Fun Outdoor Living. After finally getting the electrical hookup completed, I was prepping to slog through the instructions for treating the water.     It was a great experiencing working with Ken to explore different hot tub models and options. They have a great selection of the best and most purchased HotSpring lines and models. As a newbie hot tub owner I was a bit concerned with keeping the water balanced, but that turned out to be much easier than I could have imagined!This is also a great place to restock your pool/hot tub supplies as they had what I needed in stock, which I could never find anywhere online. I would definitely recommend them for exploring hot tubs or other outdoor entertainment needs.

    Great purchase experience from Ken Hormel. I took a serial number of a used Hot Springs Vanguard spa to him and asked him how old it it and what I need to get it running. Ken knows his craft and didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. He even told me which items I didnt need to buy when I presented them to him. Very professional, competent and friendly staff.     We had a patio, gazebo and hot tub designed and installed by these folks. Everyone we worked with was very professional and easy to work with. The company couldnt be more informative about time lines given all the delays due to covid. The gazebo was just what we were looking for and the hot tub has been great. All of their workers were considerate of our house and yard and cleaned up everyday and made sure nothing was left disturbed. Adam was our salesman on the project and he kept us informed every step of the way. If you are looking for backyard work, these are the ones you want to consider.

    We recently wanted to upgrade our backyard and had the pleasure of working with Fun Outdoor Living to complete our project. Wanting to put in a new patio and hot tub, we were assisted from the first moment we walked in the door. We had the pleasure of working with Adam Kruse on getting our patio designed and set up. In our first meeting Adam was able to help us visualize the space we had and what would fit perfectly in it. With his attention to detail we were able to get the perfect layout and set up for our backyard. We also had a great experience with Art Register to get our hot tub. My wife and I had a couple of different things we wanted, and Art listened to us and didnt try to upsell us. He stayed within our budget and got us the perfect hot tub. We have enjoyed patio and hot tub everyday since it has been put in. We cant wait to work with Fun Outdoor Living on our next project!

    Purchased a Sycamore Hot tub for my wife for Christmas from Fun Outdoor Living. 4th hot tub we have ever owned and so far one of the best. Highly recommend the Sycamore.     We had a wonderful experience with Fun Outdoor Living. It started with our appointment with Andrey to discuss what we were thinking of, the plants we liked and what we were trying to achieve. He sat down with his lap top and created the landscaping and patio design. Before he left we had a plan. Melissa submitted all the paperwork needed for our HOA and we were approved in a week. Once approved it was only a few weeks before they came and finished the job in a day and a half. What’s really important about using them is that they have their own crew. Some of them have worked with them for 7+ years. The job is not getting subcontracted out, which I hear happens a lot with other landscapers. Ken greeted us when we walked in and started working with us to understand why we wanted a Hot Tub. Andrey Fleishman, our designer, point person and project manager, made a huge project a joy. He is a high contact, friendly, professional, design genius, and visionary that lives up to the company name, truly creating Fun Outdoor Living. From design concept, through planning and execution, Andrey maintained a keen focus on customer service and superior end product, and all well within budget! The time he took sketching ideas on graph paper, discussing minute details, helping decide on models, options, colors, etc., and managing all the subs, went beyond my expectations. With a project this size, there will inevitably be scope creep and change requests - these too - were handled in an exceptional manner. Many companies will not accept change orders; FOL welcomed the changes and additions, which ultimately led to a grander end product. I feel that Andrey, the subs he chose, the materials that were used, the customized design, the end result and the price - were all 5 star. At this point, my wife and I are trying to imagine other outdoor projects, just so we can continue working with Andrey and FOL. I would HIGHLY recommend using this company from the simple (just a spa) to the ultra complex (a 2,000 sq ft outdoor oasis); I would HIGHLY recommend speaking to Andrey, before you decide on going with anyone else - you will not regret it.

    My experience with FOL has been great. There were a few small bumps in the road but nothing major. They installed 691 sq ft of pavers for us and did a great job. I didnt like that polymeric sand wasnt included in my service because the price wasnt cheap! So I asked Andre why that was and he explained why, which I accepted his explanation.However, Andre has ALWAYS taken or returned my calls regarding questions about my pergola (and hot tub that I purchased from another company before I learned of FOL). He even delivered our hot tub from storage to our home (for a fee of course) and referred us to an excellent inexpensive electrician to run the line!!! Can you find a company cheaper than FOL on some things, sure you can. But Ive learned over the years that cheaper isnt always better. Andre is very knowledgeable in this space and he provides great customer service and support, which was VERY IMPORTANT TO US.So in closing, although I couldnt afford to have them build my pergola and plant my privacy trees, I would highly recommend FOL if your budget is bigger than mine, lol.

Outside of what was done in terms of the pergola, Zane took the time to give me a few recommendations in terms of sealing it.(not in the original plan) and also helped setup cedar as a crossboard for stability cut into the Hardiboard so that I could safely mount an outdoor tv - Thanks Zane2) Patio, Firepit and ODK. Patio and Firepit team did a great job as well.The Outdoor Kitchen team was also fantastic. Matt who was leading the efforts saw a few opportunities to optimize the look based on the original design, and came up with some immediate solutions (making the ODK fully adjacent to the house so that it looked connected from the original build, vs being a floating ODK that just sat next to the house. Overall the time Matt spent talking through the options with me, and then taking it upon himself to make my original thoughts better was greatly appreciated - Thanks Matt3) Permits and paperwork. Davis (who was our primary PM) was on top of all of the paperwork and permits. This of course didnt come w/o hiccups, but FOL submitted detaled paperwork to my HoA on behalf of me, so even took that part out of my hands. There were logistical hiccups with the folks doing inspections (hiccups on Waxhas permit inspection side around when, and what they were to be inspecting), but once again, FOL handled everything with them directly and immediately. I never expect things to go flawlessly, but it was a great sign to see FOL, explain what was going on to me, and then just handle it - Thanks Davis4) The one main pain piont for me was during some of the work, there was more disturbance to the lawn than I expected and more than I found acceptable. So I voiced my observations and concern to Davis and Andrey, and within a day they had folks come back out and address them. The amt of rain that we received made this more challenging - Thanks Davis and Andrey

    We had a new patio built last year which exceeded our expectations. We started this project thinking we needed to build a deck of some sort which we were not 100% happy about. Adam presented us the option of a raised patio with stone which was exactly what we wanted.Adam helped us visualize our project with a computer generated design. We were able to select a beautiful travertine stone to complete the design. The team was fantastic and efficient and easily accommodated a last minute change to placement of the patio. The finishing touch was installation of and to replace any damages turf which was minimal.Follow up after the project was completed to ensure we were happy customers was also very much appreciated.

    Overall FOL did a great job. The quality of the work and the finished product is amazing. The workers on-site delivered perfection. I would rate the work a 5 out of 5. Communication and coordination can definitely improve as I often did not know where things stood or when workers were showing up. I found this to be frustrating. At times, I seemed to be the person connecting the dots for the workers showing up. I would rate this a 3 out of 5. But the final result is exactly what I wanted. I do not have a single punch list item outstanding. Anything I was unhappy about got quickly resolved and exceeded my expectations. If you want a high quality product, delivered by quality workers AND can deal with some minor frustrations around communication and coordination...this is the place to call.

    We live in Lexington SC, but we had stopped by Fun Outdoor Living in Charlotte when we were in town for other reasons. We are building a new home and I am the contractor. We wanted to do an outdoor kitchen that was built in and seamless with the house. We spoke with Ken back then and he was very knowledgeable and understood what we needed. When we got back home, I spoke with a few places locally and no one really made me feel confident that they could execute my vision. So we went back to Charlotte and worked with him to design our outdoor kitchen. We are too far away for them to do the installation, but we purchased the grills and cabinetry and Ken helped with designing the island. We had a few back and forths until we agreed on the design. They built the island and I drove back to Charlotte with a trailer and picked it up. At this point, we were early in the framing and a set it out of the way, but close to where it would be. Last week, we finished framing the column that it would wrap around and we placed it there and it fit perfectly. I cant say enough about how well Ken helped us and how his people were able to assemble exactly what we needed.... It will be several months yet before it is complete and I can install the grills and actually cook on it, but I will surely send him more pictures when its complete... Thank you Ken for a job well done and thank you Fun Outdoor Living for executing my vision.
