    Paul and his team did a fantastic job on our king size murphy bed with built-in shelves and board and batten in our basement. I couldnt be more pleased with the quality of the carpentry work. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.The team was professional, punctual, and truly dedicated to delivering top-notch craftsmanship. They took the time to understand my vision, offering valuable suggestions and ensuring every detail was executed flawlessly. Their precision and attention to detail were evident in every aspect.Not only was the work of the highest quality, but they also kept the workspace clean and organized throughout the project.     Update: 10/4/24 to show the electrical work and light installation Liberty Carpentry helped us to arrange. The final result came out amazing!Update 9/18/24 to show everything painted!Paul and the entire Liberty Carpentry team made our dream of getting built in bookshelves and a mantel for our living room come true. From start to finish, they were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, flexible, and catered to our needs and vision for the project. They are master carpenters who know what they’re doing, and they made a beautiful hardwood mantel that is stunning. They also have basic electrical knowledge to prep a space for someone to come and install lighting when the project is done being built. I was amazed at how I could just show them inspiration photos and they brought it to life. It was also great that they invited us to come to their shop, see progress on the cabinetry and bookshelves, and select exactly the type of wood we wanted for the mantel. I highly recommend Paul and his team for any project you have in mind. I’ll definitely hire them for future projects. Will update the photos when we have everything painted.     Paul and his team at Liberty Carpentry did an outstanding job transforming our backyard. They replaced our old wooden deck with Trex, built an enclosed pergola, and a matching grill pergola to complement the aesthetics. Paul was always available whenever we had questions, was ready to fix any issues and checked back with us when everything was done to make sure we were satisfied. Top notch craftsmanship and one of a kind customer service.

    I used Paul and his team to replace my elevated deck in Q4 2023. My deck isnt too large (210 sq ft), so this was a relatively small job which was completed in a single day. I was impressed with their efficiency, professionalism and politeness. I would certainly use Liberty Carpentry again.

    Paul and his team were absolute magicians turning our boring wall into the built in wall of bookshelves of my dreams. Paul helped work with some very weird and uneven angles to build a fantastic structure that even holds my gigantic 55 gallon fish tank AND has pass throughs to hide the filtration, and enough room on top for maintenance. The shelves are such great quality wood and we are beyond happy with the whole process.

    Paul and his crew are a top-class outfit. He is very attuned to the fine details of carpentry. He worked closely with us to ensure that our needs were fully met. He listened carefully to our ideas and offered suggestions to bring about greater clarity in terms of helping us to visualize the project that we wanted installed. Paul is thoughtful and always communicated with us about arrival and start times etc. He is very hands on and delivering a quality outcome is of the utmost importance to him. We truly received a custom service which included building the product on site with precision and skill.

    Paul and his team from Liberty Carpentry completed a custom storage and entertainment unit in our basement. We are extremely happy with the final result. The entire process and experience was seamless and wonderful. Paul promptly provided us with a reasonable quote and let us know about the tentative project timeline/schedule. He stayed in contact with us leading up to the project start and kept us apprised of any decisions that needed to be made. During the project, Paul and his team were punctual and did a good job of keeping the work area tidy and clean at the end of the day. When there was a minor issue with the countertop finish, Paul notified us immediately to let us know that there would be a little delay due to him wanting to ensure that the counter was finished properly. Paul takes great pride in his work and wanted to make sure that the final product met both his and our standards. We highly recommend Liberty Cabinetry for the quality of their work and will definitely be using them again for future projects.

    Paul and Liberty Carpentry built custom built-in cabinets and shelves around our fireplace, and we could not be happier with the work, it is exactly what we wanted.     Paul and the crew at Liberty are a fantastic local business who have completed multiple projects for us. First, they helped us with a custom countertop and shelving solution for our bar. We hired them again to replace our deck and add an external staircase down to the patio level.Both times involved tricky custom situations working through the many challenges of an aging townhouse on a small lot. Both times they were more than up to the task of adapting on the fly and resolving any necessary changes. And both times the price was very reasonable and communication plentiful.I hope were almost done with house projects (ha!) but the next time one comes up, Ill be calling Paul!

    Paul and his fantastic crew have done two jobs for us. They replaced a wooden railing around our patio that had been smashed when a tree fell on our house. The original railing was built by my father-in-law, and Paul and his crew matched it perfectly.They did such a great job that we asked them to come back and replace the ceiling on our deck. I showed Paul a picture of a ceiling that inspired me. Before he gave us an estimate, he suggested a couple of other options that would save us a little money. But in the end, we went with my inspiration ceiling and we could not be happier with how it turned out.Having just spent over a year working with another construction company to get repairs done inside and out, after the tree fell on our house, I can not help but compare Pauls company to the company we used for tree repairs. It was so refreshing to work with Liberty Carpentry, who were responsive, professional, communicative, and also a friendly bunch of folks. It was refreshing to work with a company that takes pride in their work, and that does excellent work. I would post a picture of our new deck ceiling but my only camera is on my cellphone, and the pictures I took dont do it justice.

    Upfront, my deck looks, feels, and functions amazingly! What you cannot see though is the time Paul and his team took to ensure my deck was safe and long-lasting without breaking my budget. They worked efficiently and were barely noticeable as I work out of my home. They also took the time to explain every step and process to me. I highly recommend Paul and his team!

    Paul and his team just finished a second installation in our new home - they first did built-ins for our family room, and today a custom bookcase for our library. We absolutely love it.     Paul is awesome! I contacted several carpentry companies and he was the only one that came to our house and took measurements and pictures himself for the quote. Every other company wanted me to send measurements and pictures myself and with the amount of work we wanted done, to have someone proactively do it themself before even receiving a penny had sold me on Paul. He is open to many ideas, and has no problem taking the extra time to make your project look better with some additional design elements rather than taking the quick and easy way out. He’s so easy to work with and tries to find you the most affordable method for your project. Paul is transparent and honest and we will be utilizing him again.

    If you need a deck replaced, Liberty Carpentry should be your first choice - better lumber, quality work, timely, professional yet friendly, and great value. Paul suggested some options that made the deck look and work even better (e.g., the direction of the wood planks, the counter island near the grill). Even if you know what you want, Paul can find ways to make it better. We couldnt be happier. If you arent happy with your deck you probably didnt use Liberty Carpentry.

    I used Liberty to demo and repair an existing, very old deck attached to my original Reston 1970s vintage townhome. I have been extremely pleased from my first meeting with Paul for a quote to the last punch-list items following completion of the project. What I have liked: #1 Communication - the Liberty team always communicated when they would be on site and were always there when they said they would be there. Things do happen - if something happened to change timing, and something did, they communicated that and made every effort to return as soon as possible. I never had to worry. #2 - Quality. The final product was solid, had clean lines and was exactly as described. My neighbors even commented on the quality. #3 - Listening. I did have a few questions and items to adjust. The Liberty team listened and completed my requests with no difficulty or added cost. #4 - Cost. Based on other quotes and what I have heard others in the area have paid, the cost was fair, reasonable, and beat a lot of the competition. #5 - Support. I had to submit my plans for Design review to Reston Association and Liberty helped with drawings and materials descriptions necessary to complete the submission. It really was a great experience working with the Liberty team. Theyll be back to do some interior carpentry for me!

    Liberty Carpentry is a wonderful business owned by a very hard working, talented man. He built new outside wooden steps for us as well as repaired our deck and steps to it too, as well as stained our deck. Outside step lights were also put in. Paul, the ower, communicated with his client, me, very well. He is very easy to work with and very reasonable in price. He is creative and a very hard worker. He actually does a lot of the work and has 2 capable Asistants who work hard also. I am very pleaaed and grateful to have found Liberty carpentry.
