CenTex was my choice for our Whole Home Generator. Rick Salem and his team arrived this morning and the 4 of them knocked out our installation, 70’ propane trench line install and mobile link upgrade in less than 4 hours. They were professional, diligent and explained each step in detail. We spent a good amount of time simulation a power loss and how the system takes over and monitors line supply for safely switching back over.We couldn’t be happier with the process and now have peace and comfort the next time our PEC service is interrupted due to Mother Nature for an extended period of time. Good work and I highly recommend CenTex Generators and Rick & Karen Salem for your generator needs.

It is always a pleasure to deal with an extremely knowledgeable team of experts when making a major purchase. Centex Generators is an excellent example of how knowledge, experience, expertise, and professionalism come together to make a great team experience. Their personal touch and friendly approach far exceed the lack of attention received from other, big distributors, and big box retail centers. Prior to the installation, Terry & Sarah Rosebrock scheduled the visit to our home and provided a thorough and detailed cost estimate and site inspection. Their cost estimate was more than reasonable when compared to the other installers we spoke with. Rick Salem and his wife, Karen, scheduled the installation of our new, Generac 24kW whole house generator in an extremely timely manner. Rick, along with his team provided excellent installation services. Each member of the sales and installation team was very knowledgeable and performed their tasks with precision and focus. I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail and their pragmatic approach to providing thorough details while not oversizing the project. Many thanks to Rick for his assistance and leadership during the installation, and Karen for her quick scheduling skills. My thanks as well to all of the team members within the Centex Generators organization who helped get the project started and finished in such a timely and thorough manner. We would highly recommend Centex Generators services for all your power equipment needs. The satisfaction of knowing we have the safety of our well-installed, new whole house backup generator in the event of a major power outage occur is priceless.

I shopped around to obtain price quotes on the installation of a new Generac generator and chose Centex. They offered the best price and were professional in recommending what I needed. Rick Salem and his crew of 3 were professional in the installation. It took them about 3 hours to complete the work. I highly recommend Centex Generators for a back up generator.

Generac makes an excellent standby generator but the real measure of a generator dealer is service and repair. Rick and Centex Generators are outstanding. Courteous, professional and experienced. Rick gives me confidence our generator will serve us well for many more years. Thank you Rick and your team for your top-notch service.

Really saved my bacon during the last ice storm. Rick got me a great deal on a nice| 12kw genset when he could have easily gouged due to the weather conditions.

We had Rick install our 18KW Generac Generator. He is a true professional. Gets the job done right the first time, with attention to details. His prices are extremely fair and doesnt gouge you like some of the other dealers. He is a dealer/installer and maintainer and wont leave you stranded if by chance something doesnt work or fails. Thanks Rick

I agreed to purchase a Generac Generator from Centex Generators on 28 Mar 2022. I knew at the time that the delivery would be awhile out because of Covid19 and chip shortages. Terry explained to me what they could do for me and the total cost. I had received four estimates and in the end felt Terrys estmate was the most cost effective and one I could afford. The other estimates wer $2000 - $3000 over Centex Generators estimate. Since I have a medical issue that uses electrical medical devices I needed assurance that a power outage would not hinder my medical issues. I tried to get Oncor to accept a form from my doctor indicating I need electric service for medial reasons. But each time my doctor signed the form and faxed it to Oncor, they came up with excuses why it could not be honored, Worst than that, Oncor states that during a power outage they would not go to any troube to insure I had electrical power. I decided that I either had to get solar panels or a generator. Solar panels are to expensive, and at my age they never would have paid for theirselves. I decided on a Generator. The Generator was installed in Oct 2022. Terry also went out of his way to find me a 250 gal propane tank, and the cost and installation was included in the estimate. This is not usually part of their services, but I wanted an estimate that would include all the cost. The one mistake that was made was when Rick (the owner ) and his team showed up to install the generator and did not have the pad that I had paid $360 for, ( very costly for a pad) but since they did not have a pad they used some cement blocks that I had in my yard. ( of course they deleted the cost of the pad from the final bill). A 250 gal propane tank can only be filled with 200 gallons, that cost another $620. At the time I did not know how long 200 gals would last, now I wish I had purchased a 500 gal tank. Anyway, they installed the Generator and tank, and gave me lessons on how it operated. Rick set it up to self test once a week. In Dec, I checked the tank and it read 80, leaving me to thinnk I only had 80 gals left in the tank. I had only had one 3-4 hour outage, and one 20-30 minute outage, so I though that the weekly tests were using up my gas. I called Ricks office and asked them to come out and make sure I had no leaks and to set the test cycle to once a month. They came out a few days later, and when they were done the informed me I had 80% of the 200 gals of gas I had purchased in Oct. They explained the tank meter shows a percentage of available fuel, not gallons. I felt stupid, but at least I learned something. I was really happy with the services they provided during the installation and then coming back and setting the test up for monthly tests. Rick and Terry treated me well, also giving me a military discount. Now nothing was ever mentioned about the wifi connection not being installed, but when I went thru the paper work, I learned I could order the wifi connection ( for free) and it would be a 5 minute install (someone else wrote a review complaining about this, but in reality their complant is not valid in fact it was stupid.) I ordered the wifi connection, and installed it in 5 minutes just like the instructions stated. Now the complainer went into a lot of detail about him being a computer dude, and really tried to make Rick and his company look bad. I am retired from the US Army and US Govt civil service, I was a computer specialist and have a masters degree in computer sciences. What his experience had to do with the missing wifi connection I could not figure out. I think he was just spouting off. It is not Ricks fault that the wifi connection was not included in the shipment with the generator, Generac explained there was a shortage of chips when the generator was sent out. I ordered it and received it within 10 days. I could not be happier with Rick and his team or the way they treated. I highly recommed this company if you need a home generator, you will find no-one better ti do the install.Rick B. Killeen Texas

Highly recommend Rick and Centex. Rick is extremely busy with generator installations post Texas ice storm. In spite of his incredibly busy schedule, he was responsive, timely and highly knowledgeable. The only other certified Generac installer in our area (hill country) told us it would take 6 months to get our generator installed. With Rick we did it in 3 weeks for a price that was significantly lower than the other provider. Rick is also a super cool guy. Five stars.

Our tech, Ricky Salem, was VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and did a great job walking through a number of diagnostics on our Generac generator. Turned out it was incorrectly installed by the builder, but he was able to rewire it and get it going. I would highly recommend Centex and Ricky to anyone with a generator problem.
