I was DREADING working with a contractor because of all the horror stories I’ve heard, but I’ve been bragging about my experience with JJK because it was so seamless and great! Pricing was reasonable. Service was fantastic. Work quality was great. I should add that my management company is a nightmare and they stuck with me through mounds of paperwork and delays. I’m so so pleased with the result. Thank you for helping me build my dream!Work done included removing walls, adding new walls (with pocket doors), changing the location of the door in the bathroom, cabinet space in bathroom, bar shelves, and “garage door” storage on the bar (shown in the pictures - we custom designed that, is that not so cool?!)

JJK far exceeded our expectations. Their quality and workmanship is exceptional. The attached pictures speak for themselves. I had a cramped and dilapidated attic bathroom that JJK patiently worked with me to design something beautiful but also functional to maximize the small space. They were courteous, prompt, and professional throughout the whole process. Approximately two years later (work done Oct 2021) and I’m still just as happy with the job as day one and everything has held up well. I would gladly recommend their services to anyone considering them.

JJK has been fantastic start to finish. They’re reasonably priced, fast and easy to work with. I worked with them August-September 2022 for a complete bathroom renovation + finishing of oddly shaped attic closets. I will hopefully use them for additional projects in the coming months. Each member of the team has a lot of integrity and shows a lot of pride in their work. Kennedy is wonderful to work with and would check in with me regularly to ensure I was happy with progress. When there were things I had questions about, he was prompt in responding and made great suggestions. The whole team consistently treated my space with respect and care.I don’t know what exactly I was expecting, but I wasn’t expecting to completely stay on budget and timeline which it did. The final space came out better than I imagined. Could not recommend them more. Sharing some before/after photos.

A little back story - I am a new home owner and I am so so grateful I found JJK Contracting. I had a different contractor to work on my floors before JJK contracting, they went through the whole board approvals with me only to ghost me afterwards. I spent days / weeks chasing this other contractor to keep me posted and get me the info I needed and for them to disappear was disheartening, they really set me back on my renovations.When I messaged JJK Contracting - I felt like such a priority! They have a clean and great communication system, I never felt ignored. I really appreciated how Kennedy and Oliver communicated with me every step of the way in terms of refinishing my floors. They answered all my questions (and as someone who is super new to all of this) they never made me feel dumb asking what I wanted to ask.They exceeded my expectations in so many ways! They worked very quickly on my floors and was respectful to me and my space. They completed the task in two weeks (and that includes board approval time) which got me slightly back to speed on where I wanted to be in my renovations so I super appreciate that! I also thought a final visit / walk through of the space to ensure the quality of the work that was done, I havent seen that before and thought it was awesome!Work that was done: I had my floors refinished, with a golden brown stain and a satin finish.Bonus : When I saw some bubbles on one of my floors, they came to fix that which was an above and beyond move to me.All in all - the team that works here is stellar and I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone I know and will consider them for future projects I have hands down. If you need anything done to your space to look fantastic, do not hesitate to reach out to JJK Contracting!

As anyone can image, transforming a foreclosed property into a new home, can seem like a daunting task. If you take into account a very limited budget, and a worldwide pandemic, and it might have been a nightmare, if not for Mr. Kennedy and his team.From the very beginning, Mr. Kennedy was very professional and after comparing him with some of his local competitors, I determined that his very reasonable price was within my budget. He provided a very detailed estimate, and was very patient as he dealt with my difficult building managements bureaucratic demands and delays. He didnt even complain about the horrendous parking situation (which was cited as a serious concern by another company I had researched). He and his team simply showed up on time and did exactly what they had been hired to do.After he finished my bathroom, I found out that my kitchen cabinets also had to be done. Again, Mr. Kennedy dealt with another bureaucratic task and set to work. All the while, he didnt try to up-sell any additional services and costly materials, and was very understanding about how I had to do everything piecemeal.Overall, Mr. Kennedy was very responsive and answered all of my questions, and made sure that his colleagues did the same. Knowing that I had very limited time and money, he made sure that the work was done on time, even if it meant having to work on a Sunday. I cant thank JJK Contracting enough. If you are looking for an honest and hardworking team; if you are looking for a Black owned business, you should hire this company.

I used JJK Contracting in the past to paint my living room and upstairs hallway. Oneil did such a great job; I asked him to paint and plaster my bedroom and guest bathroom. The bedroom was a major undertaking. There was an enormous amount of plastering to be done. Once again ONeil did a phenomenal job. It is a pleasure to work with him. He is pleasant, accommodating, punctual...a true professional. The best part is his prices are extremely reasonable. I recommend him for any project and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Really happy with my recent work with JJK! I had a leak in my bathroom and JJK was able to fully repair and repaint the wall, perfectly matching my old color. They were also incredibly professional and responsive throughout the process and very flexible to work with me. They were available to get to work really fast too, which was great.

Worked with Kennedy and his team over a few months in Summer 2021 for a full renovation of a two bedroom apartment in the Bronx, including repainting of walls, ceiling and trim, new kitchen tiling, cabinets, and appliances, new bathroom tiling, tub, shower system, and vanity, and redone wood flooring. It was an incredibly run down apartment when we first purchased it and Kennedy and his team did a great job turning it into a place we are excited to live in. Kennedy is super responsive and, though we had some major hiccups along the way, all of it was handled professionally despite a difficult building management situation. On top of all this, Kennedy had the most reasonable quote of the five or six we spoke with. Id highly recommend Kennedy and JJK Contracting for any work you need done.

I needed a serious bathroom facelift.My bathroom though cute, wasnt practical. I had a huge shelf over the sink which made it difficult to use the sink. I also felt it needed some life.I contacted JJK. Oneal came and gave me an estimate. I shopped around but was eventually convinced from pictures.They were very professional, safe, understanding, accepted concerns and gave suggestions. Above all precise and fast. It was a 2 day job!!!! It never felt rushed but thorough.Cant wait to tackle more projects

We hired Oneil to renovate our kitchen, and we would hire him again in a heartbeat!From start to finish, he was professional, attentive, and reliable. He worked quickly and completed all tasks within the time frame he originally gave us, which was incredible. We hired him to redo our floors, demolishing the existing floor and laying new cork tiles (which he did a beautiful job of!) He also created an enclosure for an exposed heat pipe in our kitchen, which finishes the look. He installed our new cabinets, preparing them to intersect with water pipes so there would be no conflict. He plastered and painted with exquisite expertise. The electrician and plumber he worked with were also professional, capable, and reliable. Throughout the process, Oneil asked us questions to be certain of our preferences and gave us his professional recommendations when we needed help, which was hugely useful, as we had never undertaken such a task before.We had been a little nervous about the whole renovation process, but Oneil was so trustworthy and supportive that we learned that, with him as our contractor, we really had nothing to worry about. Upon completing the project, Oneil even waxed our new floors and gifted us an excellent product that we can continue to use. We can’t wait to hire him for further renovation projects, as working with him made the entire process much easier than we anticipated.

JJK did a gut rehab on 3 rooms (kitchen & 2 baths). They were easy to work with, prompt, reasonably priced, and made sure we were happy with the finished product. We were new to the neighborhood, and gave us good recommendations on suppliers and subcontractors when we needed them. If you are looking to remodel, definitely talk with these folks before you sign with someone else.

Took both of my bathrooms to studs and remodeled them beautifully in less than three weeks. The first bathroom is my tenants and he had it fully functional by time they return from their eight day vacation. Just a few minor touch ups were needed. Would have finished quicker of it wasnt for the plumbing issues we ran into with my bathroom. But it was functional within 9 days and complete in 10. Oneill was very quick to respond and went above and beyond everytime. Hopefully the next job doesnt have plumbing issues this one did. Thanks again for a fantastic job.

JJK Contracting recently came to my house to work on a couple of projects I wanted done in my home: plaster of ceiling and walls, painting the living room/hallway, converting closets, etc.The work was completed over a 2-Saturday period (one Saturday to sand and paint, the next Saturday for touchups and inspect the paint work done and convert closets).The team arrived to my house at the expected time and started immediately working on my projects. The team made sure I was happy with each of the projects being done. JJK Contraction was professional and most important, clean! With all the work that was done on both Saturdays, there was not a drop of paint on the floor nor plaster dust from sanding the ceiling.Ill rate JJK Contracting 5 starts on Google, but in reality I would rate 4.5 stars. I am very picky on how I like things and there are some places on the job where they had to plaster and paint I wish were a bit smoother. Besides this, I plan on using JJK Contracting in the future.

Oneil is a gem! I was looking to replace my hallway sliding door to a mirror sliding door. I also wanted to replace the side moulding because my dog had damaged the wood badly. I went to Home Depot and purchased the sliding door and Oneil kindly asked if I needed his skills to install it. I got his business card and found his rates to be reasonable from the start when he came over and assessed what needed to be done.When he came over, he is very PROMPT and not a minute over. He quickly got started right away and you can tell the detail workmanship he was putting into this project from the beginning. He took his time to get it right and no shortcuts were made. He was VERY considerate of the small space he had to work with. After the job he cleaned up everything and before he left he made sure I was happy (very nice service) and If I was satisfied with my new mirror sliding doors and I was. I AM SO glad I found him and how everything worked out perfectly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Oneil to everyone! You cant go wrong and youll regret not hiring Oneil for all your jobs- from either a simple quick fix to a branch new sliding door to kitchen countertop or bathroom, etc. He does EVERYTHING!!Thanks Oneil

Oneil came in to fix a job two contractors had messed up. He fixed all the problems we had due to two terrible contactors. My kitchen looks better then I imagined. Oneil gave me his card when I was in the paint section of Home Depot. I had just bought a house and knew I would need quotes for some work to be done so that was great timing.Oneil is very professional. He came to look at what I wanted done and emailed me a quote within a couple of days. When I wanted to add a couple of things to the list, he was upfront and honest and said he couldnt give me a quote without seeing the additional issues first, so he came back out again. I appreciated that he didnt just pull numbers out of the air and actually took the time to give me an accurate quote. Thats why I ultimately chose him over the other contractors (I just lucked out that his quote was actually the lowest of the 4 I got).As far as his work ethic, he always arrived at the time he told me he would, and the one time he was running late because of traffic, he called to let me know. He worked quickly and efficiently and always had a great/positive attitude. I had him do a bunch of small things around the house (install new kitchen faucet and permanent shower rod, fix some molding, etc), but the major work was having him build 2 closets, one in the entryway to cover some water pipes and a walk in closet in the master bedroom. After he finished framing and drywalling the hallway closet, I really was not happy with how large it was bc it blocked a lot of the entryway (it was completely my fault since he asked me several time where he should place the wall). When I told him I wasnt happy with it, he redid the closet by pushing the wall back without any complaint - actually he assured me more than once that it was ok even though I felt really bad about having him do it over!Everything only took 2 weekends and Oneil was very particular with making sure everything was cleaned up and debris/dust was swept up before he left. It was very nice having someone so professional to work with and I would def hire him again for future jobs.

We hired Kennedy for a couple of minor upgrades around the apartment (installing hanging microwave and new bathroom vanity). I would say the experience was pretty seamless from beginning to end and the pricing was more than fair. After the installations were complete and we were all paid up we ran into a couple of minor snags, and Kennedy came back to fix them at no additional cost. Overall, I would highly recommend this service. Kennedy is professional, dependable and honest.

The job was delivered / completed on time according to the agreed upon work and better than we had anticipated. We had a bathroom and kitchen renovated and we were very pleased with the final result. In a space where it is challenging to find contractors who you can trust and work within your schedule, you cant go wrong with JJK Contracting. Would definitely recommend using their services, if youre looking to complete any renovations to an apartment within a specific period of time.

We hired JJK to re finish our floors just after we had moved into our new house. O’Neil came by to take a look and provided a quote in a timely fashion, he answered any questions we had and made it easy for us to choose his company. Oliver was the person who came by to do the job and he couldn’t have been easier to work with. He communicated with us each step of the way and answered all our questions. He was patient with us and walked us through the pro’s and cons of the different finishes we were looking at. Oliver was on time each morning and worked to keep our space neat during a very messy job, he always cleaned up at the end of the day and left our home in great condition for us. Most importantly, the floors came out AWESOME. We couldn’t be happier with the job JJK and Oliver did for us. We are already looking at hiring them for another job and would recommend them to anyone looking for interior work in your home.
