    We just had these guys do a whole house rewire (like many people in this review section) and genuinely couldnt be happier. The estimate walkthrough and resulting report were very thorough and we were talked through every line item. The price was reasonable given the extent of work and after we felt a high degree of confidence in their knowledge and skill. We were not disappointed!These guys are communicative and responsible. Mark, the team lead, was particularly excellent as was his associate Nick - very friendly, reliable, punctual, considerate, and organized. Mark knew what was going to happen at the beginning of the day and what had happened by the end. We had to work from home while they were there and they were great partners in making sure we knew where the noise or dust was going to be. They also did an excellent job tidying up at the end of every evening.A total rewire is invasive and expensive, theres mess after everyones left, but with Nicholas Electric all efforts were made to make the entire ordeal as smooth and painless as possible. Were so delighted to have found such a reliable team. Weve already recommended them to several friends - thanks, guys!

    We needed to upgrade our service, replace our old pushmatic breaker box, and run a dedicated circuit for a newly installed dishwasher. The team was incredibly professional and easy to work with from initial outreach to job completion. John was super responsive and detailed in his estimate. When the team showed up to do the work, they were also very professional and respectful of our home (and made sure to keep the basement door closed so the cats/dog wouldnt run out!). The job was finished a little earlier than planned, the job site was clean, and the team walked me through everything they did. Ill definitely be reaching back out if I have future electrical projects.

    Nicholas has done several jobs for us from installing ceiling fans and lights, an upgraded panel to a second house knob and tube rewire. they always do an excellent job at a reasonable price.

    We recently had a new breaker panel and exterior outlets installed and a dedicated line run to my shed. To say that I am completely pleased with the work done by Steve and Frank of Nicholas Electric would be an under statement. Everything was handled in a timely and professional manner, from the estimate done by John Bird to the final clean up. It was a pleasure to work with these guys and have them in my home. No one could have taken my request and planned and executed the installation any better than Steve did. They have my highest recommendation.

    I would unreservedly recommend Nicholas Electric Co. to anyone looking for a reputable electrician. We have had them out twice once for an estimate and once for the work and both times, Jim, was wonderful, efficient and explained what they were doing. Jim got us an estimate emailed out the same day, was wonderfully responsive via email, and it was a breeze to get scheduled. I would absolutely turn to them again and have recommended them to my friends!

    Tim, Callum, Mason, and Nicholas Electric Co as a whole were absolutely excellent. We purchased a house a while ago and it had questionable wiring ( to say the least). Spoke with John Byrd about a total rewire, got a quote, and agreed to a time. The price was fair, there was a high quality of work and craftsmanship, and they were even patient and helped us set up smart systems/ lighting for our home.Finally, they were very careful in making holes in the walls- so your walls wont resemble Swiss cheese. Also, the holes they made were small and easily patched ( a big concern of ours). Our experiance was great and we passed inspection no problem. I cant recommend Nicholas Electric Co enough to anyone who needs anything electrical done. Theyre a Solid company.

    We call John and his team for all of our electric work. Nicholas Electric was recommended to me years ago by my friend Brian after they rewired his entire house. They’re alway punctual, professional, and do a great job at an excellent price. From big jobs- all new basement lighting - to small jobs they always respond to my requests. They just installed a ceiling fan with remote in my hallway in less than an hour. My husband would still be unpacking the box. Highly recommend!

    I have a 100 year old home in Squirrel Hill that had the original knob and tube wiring.I chose Nicholas Electric to re-wire the entire home. I was 100% satisfied with the work they did. They stuck to the original estimate despite the fact that old homes are full of surprises and difficulties. The workers were always on time and were a pleasure to deal with. Since the work was done Ive had no problems whatsoever.As the owner of an old house Ive had to deal with many different types of contractors. I wish they could all be as reliable, professional, and trustworthy as Nicholas Electric!

    This review is long overdue but Jim, John and all of their guys did a GREAT job when we had a knob and tube issue at our house. They did the initial inspection, talked us through the dangers/options and came in with the lowest estimate. Throughout the process they were very professional and timely. They also did a nice job installing a ceiling fan and some new light fixtures. If we need any more electrical work done, Nicholas Electric are the only guys we will call!

    We had an excellent experience with Nicholas Electric. They returned my initial call promptly, and squeezed us in to fix an urgent issue. We had a list of other electrical work which John promptly returned a quote for. He was patient in answering all my questions, and a very reliable communicator.On the day we arranged for the rest of the work, his crew showed up exactly on time, and unprompted put on masks and laid out a ground cloth to keep our floors clean. They efficiently went about our list, keeping us updated on their progress and again answering our questions thoroughly. Everyone on the crew seemed highly skilled and professional. Couldnt ask for a better experience.

They were priced well under the other bids I received, I had a detailed written estimate of the work emailed to me the same day the service manager came out to the property. They were able to get me on the schedule within 2 weeks of signing the estimate. Everyone I worked with was prompt, professional, and friendly.

    Ive been meaning to write this review for a few months now, 10/10⭐. This was a stress free, seamless transaction from start to finish. John the Foreman was very informative, friendly, and answered all our questions thoroughly and professionally (and so we could understand easily in lamens terms), and got us scheduled as quick as possible when our first electrician continuously and then completely blew us off. He also kept me abreast with scheduling, info about the impending appt., etc., and responded in a timely fashion always.Drew and his crew were the guys that came out. We left the key with them ahead of appt., and they were so on time that they actually even got there earlier than scheduled, first thing in the morning! 👍 They were just so professional and efficient. They even installed some outlets we needed after the main job was completed (that we pre discussed if they had time) .My inspector (who seemed very strict) was also very pleased with their work immediately looking at it, he was impressed right away, (which spoke volumes to me given our previous discussions before hiring Nicolas) . Even as a lay person, I could tell they did everything tiptop. This inspector also recommended them to another client he was working with that day across town!💲Cost wise, they were very comparable to the other few quotes we initially received, Id say the majority were all within $500 of one another for the main job. In the end, they were the best value all the way around. I would definitely recommend this company to others. Theyre not going to rip you off and theyre going to do a great job and not cut any corners, which is what you want when dealing with something as serious as electricity (and dealing with a third party inspector that has to pass you). You can just sit back and know theyre doing what you hired them to do, the right way, and have peace of mind that your family will be safe after the job is complete.I plan to give them another call when we replace some of the fixtures/add fans, and install the dedicated lines for the portable acs/heaters. Definitely give these guys a call, you will be glad you did. I only wish that some of the other contractors Ive dealt with in other areas/trades were as professional, trustworthy and efficient as these guys. Thank you Nicholas E. Co., truly!

    I have been DIYing my house and a few things got too complicated for myself. So Ive been trying to get an electrician out here since September.     Today Jim and Wes came to repair a lighting fixture in our bathroom. They were on time, polite and were COVID-19 responsible. They repaired our light fixture in record time (amazing!) and took the extra time to look around at some other lighting issues we were having.     Great service! Needed an outlet replace from water getting in it. Nicholas Electric Co upgraded this to a gfi outlet which is safe to prevent future issues. Also ensured a clear and safe space under the outlet.

    Nicholas Electric completed a total rewire of our very large 110 year old house, removing all knob and tube connections and bringing all electrical wiring and fixtures up to code. In addition, they upgraded our service to 400 amps. During the multi-month process, co-owner John Bird and his workers were the epitome of what a major contractor should be -responsive, thoughtful, quality work, easy to talk with. This was a very challenging project. Our old house resists change and the plaster and brick construction makes any work inside walls and ceilings very difficult. Mark, the project lead, did an exemplary job, not only ensuring code compliance and proper function, but also taking great care to minimize plaster damage. His attention to detail makea sure things look right as well as work right. Mark was always positive, providing alternatives and solutions when confronting with challenging situations. We easily passed our inspections with no issues. We wholeheartedly most strongly recommend Nicholas Electric for any electrical work.

    The folks at Nicholas replaced knob and tube in our older home. Not only did they finish the job ahead of schedule, but they went above and beyond to ensure our home was neat and tidy every day. Other electricians told us the job would be so messy we could not even consider living at home during the work. Tim and his crew were so careful and clean that we really had no trouble living in the house while they worked. Communication was excellent throughout the project. They did every piece of the job as we expected and accommodated small changes as needed. We absolutely love the outdoor ceiling fan they added for us on the porch. If you’re looking to replace knob and tube or do other large electrical projects, I can’t recommend Nicholas highly enough. I wish I could give more than five stars!!!

    Had Nicholas Electric for a 4 week project to rewire a 140 year old house from knob and tube to bring it up to code. The estimate I received was fair and less than half of any other estimate that I received from other electric companies for the same project. Nothing but good things to say about the work, whenever I would get involved the crew was already 2 steps ahead of me and it was nice not having to get too involved and know everything was being done correctly.
