    I have nothing but positive things to say about Spec! We are new to town, and our old house is new to us. Our neighbor recommended Spec to help us with a couple projects, and weve had a fantastic experience. They are responsive, polite, and efficient. They are great communicators, and we always know what to expect. They are prompt and polite in our home, they are thorough in explaining the work, and to top it off, their rates are more than fair. Weve been dealing with a slew of contractors to coordinate basement work, and Spec has been by far the most pleasant one to work with -- great customer service really takes the stress off home repairs. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

    While we were on vacation, a storm hit Pittsburgh on Saturday 7/23 and a tree fell onto our power line, and our power cable was ripped off our house. Duquesne Light cut our line while we were gone since its on the ground and was a hazzard, but they didnt cut the fallen tree and they didnt call or leave a message about it. So we came back from vacation and saw this mess. Duquesne Light came out when we called them about this emergency and finally cut the tree, but they said we need an electrician to fix the fallen entrance cable and hang it back up on the house. I called eight electrician contracting companies the next morning and only two were available, everyone else were not available this week. Spec Electric was the first to say they were available to come and help us. Melissa was the woman that took our claim and she patiently listened to our concern. We texted her photos of the fallen line and she was very responsive via text. She told us an electrician could come to our house the next day, which was amazing cuz all the other companies told me I had to wait a week before they could send someone. Chad Evans came out the next day to fix our line. He was very nice and polite and he got the job done in 3 hours. the power cable now looks very steady and stable on our chimney. He gave us the bill and we were pleasantly surprised, $600 for the cost of labor and materials. Other companies were quoting more than $2000, but they only charged us $600. I am so grateful for this company for coming out to our house so soon to help us get our electricity back and for charging at an affordable price. I will definitely call them again and refer them to others for any electrical issues.

    Tesla Owners: As of May 2021 you have two choices for certified tesla charger installations. Spec is one of them.Long story short I had to rearrange a previous appt with Spec and they were flexible, understanding, and great with communication.The price was WAY better than the other place and...I was told I didnt need the Tesla Charger and could use a NEMA charger saving me $500!It took the tech an hour, the price was fair and Melissa and team were great so they deserve the review. I will say to be fair they came one day with the wrong connector so we had to bump it a week but we were trading emails about the charger so a simple mix up. They came today May 19th and knocked it out in no time!If you get a NEMA charger it will look like the picture below. This gives you approx 30-33 miles per hour charging a Tesla Model 3, hope that helps. Cant wait to take delivery!Thanks guys

    I lost power after a big storm when a branch fell on my power line and ripped the mast off my house. Bryan and Shane made it out to repair the damage in less than 24 hours. They came out after normal hours, arriving at 5:30 to help accommodate my schedule and get my power back for me. Bryan was texting me at 10 pm to make sure they had all the info and parts needed to complete the job. This is exceptional service.They were courteous, professional and left my house even better than when they found it. They stuck with the quoted price and did a tremendous job with the repair. I cant say enough about the level of professionalism they exhibited. I wouldnt hesitate to call them again for all of my electrical needs .From the initial contact through job completion they kept me informed and were very responsive to questions. I think it is great to see this level of exceptional service still exists.

    Wonderful Experience with Spec. Everything was friendly and professional starting from the initial phone call to schedule the quote all the way until payment at the end. Bryan and Tim were great. They took very good care of my home as they were doing the work. They re-wired 4 fans and installed a new outlet and fixed some old wiring that was done incorrectly. Aside from the completed work, you cant tell they were even there. Everything was put back as good or better than when the came. I will call them again on my next project.

    We had SPEC install a new circuit to our disposal. This was a challenging job because a new wire had to be run from the breaker box to the attic and through a second floor wall into the kitchen. The technician Chad worked non-stop for three and a half hours to accomplish the task. He was very professional. Based on our experience with SPEC, I would highly recommend. We will certainly call upon them again if we need home electrical work done.

    Chad from Spec did an excellent job finding an electrical break in my two upstairs bedrooms caused by an overload to the circuit from a hair dryer. He laboriously worked his way inspecting every socket and the breaker panel. As a last resort, he checked the wiring in each room’s hanging light fixtures because older houses, like ours, are often wired such that each room socket is routed back up to the light fixture. (Crazy, but true.). Sure enough. The light fixture in the second room, the last place Chad would look before crawling through our attic for more answers was the culprit. Fried the wire nut into pieces. He pulled out the old wiring, cleaned it up and rejoined the hot lines. Voila! Power to those rooms. I thought it would cost me at least $800-900 to fix. Reasonably priced for his two hours of work plus some wiring. Phew!!I was very grateful that Chad hung around for 2+ hours on a Friday afternoon and trudged through it to fix this issue. Thank you Chad and thank you Spec Electric!!

    Christie was very friendly. She was able to schedule me right away and accurately predicted how long it would take Bryan to fix my issue (and what it would cost)! Bryan was knowledgeable and friendly as well. He did a great job. I would definitely use Spec Electrics services again!

    Spec Electric was professional, efficient in both pricing and getting me an estimate and in scheduling and completing the work. We had them install an electric car charger in our garage. The work was done quickly, professionally and very crisply. Our electrician was Shane and he did a fantastic job.

    The previous electrician we used was great until he started to not return our calls or emails for 4 months. After a while we gave up and just didnt fix the electrical we needed done. A friend of ours gave us Spec Electric Companies number. They were really awesome over the phone. They listened to the issues and when they came sooner than later and took no time at all to be done. They even found a issue where the previous owner had one wire illegally connected to the garbage disposal and fix it. Let me tell you we have been using a extension cord for our washer because the outlet would never work for over a year. So excited to have a working outlet again. Well be calling them in the near future for complete rewiring of our house as we go room to room with replacing walls & floors.

    I own a dental office and another electrician left us without service and we were going to have to cancel a day of patients...only we couldnt access any patient phone numbers to call because our computers had no power. We were going to just have to put a sign on the door that said closed for the day. Thankfully I found Spec and specifically Bryan. He came out to my office at 9:30 in the evening and was able to quickly restore power. I would have gladly paid double or triple what they charged to get my power back on at that time.

    Spec installed new light fixtures in our kitchen and throughout the second floor of our home, plus new switches and some additional outlets. They did a great job. They were creative in solving a couple of tricky problems as well as cheerful, professional, very neat and clean, and punctual. It was a pleasure working with them.

    Hire them. You won’t be disappointed.We hired Spec Electric to install 5 ceiling junction boxes (including fans and switches), a remotely located cable box, and a new hidden outlet behind a wall-mounted television. Our house was built in 1989. We cannot imagine why the previous owners didn’t install overhead lighting in any of the bedrooms or office when they were building it, but alas, they didn’t, and here we were left in the dark.My mom and dad received the electricians on two days so my husband and I didn’t have to miss work. Parenthetically, my dad is a retired mine electrician and knows how to wire a home. He was so impressed with Spec Electric’s work. The electricians apparently even discussed “breaker box etiquette,” with my dad and told him about how they practice their trade in the shop.My husband was equally as impressed with their work, and told me all about how the electricians were using cameras in the ceilings to run the wire, and the amount of time they took so that they didn’t have to make unnecessary holes in the walls or ceilings.In all honestly, I am a perfectionist, and expect the same from everyone. I was even impressed with the quality of the finished product. Amazed, actually. They worked so neatly, and everything was completed with such care and accuracy. Only one room required two small (approximately 2”-3”) additional holes when installing the switch for the overhead lighting. I still cannot imagine how they managed to not make *any* holes when performing the installations in the other 4 rooms. I expected a few holes per room at minimum. I also didn’t expect that they would patch the holes up—but they did! They even added the textured part of the ceiling for the small hole made in the ceiling.I really can’t explain how impressed I am with this company’s work product, work ethic, and job performance. Anymore it seems as though too many people and companies do not take pride in their work, or are unreliable. This isn’t the case with Spec Electric.We will without a doubt hire Spec Electric for all of our electrical needs. I also feel very comfortable recommending Spec Electric to anyone that needs electrical services. My only hope is that they remember this review, and still make time for us when we need them.

    I remodeled my bathroom and needed some electrical work done. They came out quickly and helped me out a lot. They were very good at explaining everything and were very professional. Any mess they made they cleaned up right away. I highly recommend them. They will be the only electrical contractor I call from now on!

    I was referred to Spec electric by one of my neighbors. They returned my call promptly. Set up an appointment in a timely fashion. Mike came out to do the work and did an exceptional job. I have referred this company to 2 of my friends and they were both delighted with the workmanship. Kudos to spec electric and their team.

    This is long overdue but after working with different companies for non-electrical home repairs I keep finding myself thinking “I NEVER had this problem with Spec.”I’ve used Spec twice now for different electrical jobs in my house and have had nothing but positive experiences. Their prices are more than fair and Bryan offers several options for each job. Not only that, but he also educated me on each option and worked best for my price point. Melissa is phenomenal with scheduling appointments and following up with reminders and updates on the job/schedule status. The crew is very respectful and mindful of their work and cleanup. I trust this company to work in my home even when I’m not around.Home ownership would be so much easier if more companies operated like Spec. I’m so glad that I lucked out and found you guys!
