I had an issue with a popping GFCI circuit in my barn/shed. Aaron came out pretty quickly and was able to determine I needed a new line in conduit from my shed to the barn. He quickly put together new outlets on the circuit that make everything way more usable and reliable for us. Super happy how these guys work. I’ve used them for repairs as well as my pretty complex solar array and backup. Everyone is super friendly and good at explaining what needs to happen. I have plans for a new barn and expanding my solar (because they knew to plan that into my system) and I’ll use them again. A++++ to Aaron… much appreciated.

Unlike a previous technician who couldn’t resolve our issue, Juan was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about 10 minutes. He took the time to explain everything in detail, ensuring I understood what had gone wrong and how he was fixing it. After completing the job, Juan stayed for an additional 20 minutes to make sure everything was working perfectly and to ensure the issue wouldn’t recur. His level of care and attention to detail was truly impressive. If you’re looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and friendly electrician, Juan is your guy!

I originally called West Mechanical to get a quote because they were a PSE approved contractor. When the salesperson came out to look at my home and give me a quote for an air conditioner, I was so pleased with the detailed process of building a quote. They measured the house, checked the windows, etc to make sure the unit would work well. I decided to go with this company without getting any other quotes because I was so pleased with that initial interaction. In the end, I decided on getting both a new air conditioner and replacing my old (25+ years) gas furnace.The installation process was amazingly smooth. I work from home so I was worried about a lot of noise, dust, etc, but they were efficient, clean and quiet. They handled the electricians and every other part of the process and made it seem quite easy. Thank you so much, West Mechanical.

I cant recommend West Mechanical enough. I have been highly impressed by everyone in this company, and I am not easily impressed. Matt has been fantastic to work with throughout the entire process, everyone in the office and the install crew were all amazing. They really go above and beyond in the quality of their work and professionalism. They had to put in a rather complex system of heat pumps in our home. Other companies shied away from the complexity of the job, not only was West Mechanical unphased by this, but they also had the best bid and did a fantastic job. I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

The estimator who came out was very thorough in explaining all our options. Stephanie took as much time as we needed in answering our questions and making sure we were comfortable with our decision. I am very happy with the West Mechanical solar and HVAC teams who made our home net zero! I interviewed 4 solar and 3 HVAC companies before selecting West Mechanical to make the clean energy improvements needed to eliminate our annual carbon footprint of 6 metric tons (85% from natural gas). As a conservation scientist, I needed a company willing to answer many technical questions and crunch a lot of numbers with me. I knew from my first meeting with Sam Winters discussing our solar plans that he had more knowledge and experience than all of the other solar contractors. Stephanie Dahl’s first visit to our home to examine our furnace correctly identified system design problems (inadequate return air capacity). Aeroseal duct sealing achieved a 98% reduction in duct leakage. Finding a company with strong competencies in both solar and HVAC led to smooth, coordinated scheduling to handle the shared electrical work to install a heat pump, heat pump water heater, EV charger, and solar panels. Sam described the advantages of eGuage monitoring and we are now tracking solar generation as well as power consumption across the major circuits in our home. Puget Sound Energy had a major inspection backlog so we weren’t able to activate the solar panels until October 13th but even with the shorter, cloudier days, our solar panels are meeting 70% of our energy needs, including the 5-ton heat pump. I’m convinced we’ll be annual net positive, zeroing out our home’s carbon footprint and eliminating all natural gas and electricity bills. All work was done to the highest professional standards with clear, regular communications. We are thoroughly pleased with the quality products and service we received from West Mechanical.

We have had excellent service at West Mechanical. Our first experience was this past summer when we had a new HVAC system put in, keeping, as a back-up, the original propane furnace. It was carefully planned and installed - and much appreciated with the heat of last summer…whew!They also offered a free first inspection for the heating unit in February ‘24 and will check the cooling system this coming August. Our technician, Michael, was an excellent representative of the company! He was knowledgeable about the system, even the old system, and explained what he was doing and why. He is so easy to talk to.That is my experience with West Mechanical. I called numerous times this past winter when we had the week of severe cold temperatures, very concerned that I would ‘mess up’ something. So with this latest cold front that has come through our furnace has been working overtime. A couple of days ago it started making a loud humming noise. My wife and I thought the worst since that’s the last thing we needed..our furnace to go out. But it’s 22 years old so obviously that’s what we thought. We’ve taken very good of it though. Serviced every fall, changed the filter regularly. But recently we also noticed a burnt electrical smell in the house we knew we were in trouble. I shut it off so we had no heat and the house got cold quick with these temps. I started worrying how long we would have to go without heating our home and now they were calling for snow in the forecast. Great. We live on whidbey island so it’s not easy to get get service in a timely fashion when it comes to things like this. I called West and Tiffany was great. She got a tech to come out quickly. Aaron showed up on time and began troubleshooting explaining everything as he went. I love wrenching on cars, motorcycles, etc and I knew immediately that Aaron was very good at his job. Based on what was going on I was thinking the blower motor was shot but he noticed it was the burners making the noise. He cleaned them out and then said he wanted to also check the gas output since we are on propane and he thought it was putting out too much flame. No tech has ever mentioned that to us through all the years of service. Well he tested it and sure enough the setting was way too high. He adjusted it to the right setting and the noise was gone! I was ecstatic! I was thinking it would be $1,000-$2,000 for a new blower but just a simple adjustment and our furnace is running quieter than it has ever run. Aaron never tried to sell me something I didn’t need and was fantastic in diagnosing the exact problem. It was actually pretty cool watching him work and find the problem. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to give a detailed explanation of why I will only call West Mechanical from now on!! Wish I could leave more than five stars!

Very nice experience all around. I was working on replacing my elderly mothers furnace and they were very understanding. I needed to know how quick they could either fix it or replace it. It was great to talk to one person who could get me the answers I needed right away. I called 3 places and choose them because they were easy to talk to, and quick to come out. One of the places I call I ended up in more of a call center and getting specifics about when people could come out took over 20 minutes to get answers to. I understand the efficiency of a call center but it definitely caused me more stress then comfort. Wow! What a great company!Every time Ive used West Mechanical theyve gone above and beyond. But this last time was the absolute best!I contacted a couple companies looking for bids on purchasing and installing a heat pump to take advantage of PSEs rebate on upgrading to more energy efficent heating and cooling systems. West Mechanical came back with the lowest with the best heat pump. Originally I chose the most powerful heat pump for my home, however when I found out it wasnt expected to be available in time to take advantage of the PSE rebate before it expired I chose the slightly less powerful/expensive one.A few days before installation was scheduled I got a call from West Mechanical. They apologized my chosen heat pump had been held up in transit and wouldnt arrive in time for the install (or in time to take advantage of the rebate even though the deadline for the rebate had been extended). They offer to cover the cost of the rebate themselves if my new heat pump cant get installed before the rebate expires. I ask if I can get the more expensive/powerful heat pump that Id originally wanted insteadd since time is no longer a factor in installation and they agreed and we set up a new installation date. When it gets closer to that date I call them again to check and see if the heat pump is in stock and to pay the difference for the more expensive heat pump. West Mechanical tells me they are going to honor the lower price in the original contract so I dont need to pay more!So I ended up getting the heat pump I wanted at a lower price and still got the PSE rebate all because of this wonderful company!I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going with West Mechanical for your next electrical repair or install, I know I will!

We reached out to West Mechanical for furnace and fireplace maintenance. Juan was able to come out quickly and clean our furnace and fireplace. Unfortunately we had a broken piece on our furnace that was quite pricey to replace (especially for how old our furnace was), so we made the decision to replace the entire furnace. Juan made a call and was able to get Todd out the same day to go over our options for furnaces. Todd was incredibly friendly and helpful and went out of his way to answer any questions we had. Not to mention he had already worked a full day and still was able to fit us into his schedule. Seriously, above and beyond. The employee who reached out to schedule our install was friendly. Tony and Juan came out to do our install. They replaced the furnace, installed a new thermostat, leveled the base of our air conditioning unit, and added earthquake straps to our hot water heater quickly and efficiently. They were friendly and knowledgable, answered all our questions, and did good work. We have had a great experience with West Mechanical and all the people we have worked with. We will absolutely use them again in the future and have already signed up for a maintenance package for our furnace.

Tony was very professional with a very positive attitude and helped us understand the legalities and codes of the work we are looking to have done. He was able to fix an issue with an outlet in one of our bathrooms that hasnt been working for the last 14 years while going over the other projects. It was great to have this information clearly explained. Its complicated because this system involves valves and electric switches to three main thermostats. I have an Monitron Electric Boiler. Thanks Skip, I no longer feel like some strange machine is in the mechanical room!!

February 2020Juan came to do routine maintenance, and found that our furnaces were not safe. He was patient, kind, and caring, explaining exactly what we need to know and do as homeowners. Stephanie came to give us a quote on new furnaces and tankless hot water. She is knowledgeable, respectful, and forthright. Because we were left without heat, she made sure we had loaner space heaters, making an additional special trip. We have a unique house, and couldn’t find how to restore power when two of the heaters blew both outlets and lights. Nathan came, after hours, and helped us figure out our house, refusing to charge us for the call. We are EXTREMELY impressed with West Mechanical! Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, respectful, willing to go the extra mile, and eager to educate the homeowner. To top it off-the company makes sure large purchases are paid at 0% interest. The more one learns, the better it gets.
