    Jon and his team were excellent to work with. They replaced my deck boards with Trex and built an amazing permanent roof over 3/4 of the deck. They also added a step down from the deck in two places and a beautiful railing along one side and up the main stairs with a hand rail.They started and finished when they said they would, completed everything we discussed and it was perfection! The whole process from bid to completion went smoothly. The quality of their work and the products they used were top notch. Communication was excellent too.The finished project was beyond my expectations and I couldnt be happier with my experience with them! I would work with them again in a heartbeat! Thank you!

    Our experience with JPS Builders was excellent; the front porch looks amazing!! Our reason for recommending them isnt just because they did a fantastic job on our porch. It started way before that. Jon worked with us to design exactly what we wanted; he was quick in his communication and clear in its delivery (made it easy for me to understand even though I am not in the industry). Nick and his crew worked through some adverse weather conditions over the holidays, couldnt believe their dedication to our project!     We would absolutely recommend JPS!Jon is incredibly easy to work with. He got back to us quickly after our initial contact, met with us to discuss our ideas, offered experienced opinions, and then continued to keep up communication with us. Our project entailed some added deck understructure, new Trex decking, and new cedar fencing built to match the existing fence around the rest of our yard. The project started on time (actually they were able to start a few days early) and was finished on time and on budget. It turned out exactly how we envisioned it.Jon’s crew is fabulous!     We contracted JPS to replace our upper deck and to install a fence. They were helpful, responsive, timely , affordable and very professional.     Our experience with JPS was fantastic! We had almost a year-out timeline estimate, but they were able to squeeze us in several months early which was great.We had a couple minor changes that they were able to accomodate with very little change to our overall cost.     I would highly recommend JPS builders for any deck project. Jon and Nick are very professional and easy to work with. Early on Jon told me I had his word Id be on a list likely for a fall start.     Our experience with JPS Builders could not have been better! After reaching out about the new deck we wanted for our home, Nick scheduled a time to come by and learn a bit more about the project. This meeting was super helpful, we looked at samples of the product offered, discussed what we were envisioning for the project, and Nick offered his expertise on what was possible/what would work best for what we wanted. Afterwards, Jon followed up and sent us a quote quickly, and was super communicative with us about next steps, which we really appreciated!     I needed some repairs to an existing deck. JPS was booked out for months but their reputation is such that I was willing to wait. JPS was very transparent about their schedule.     I am happy to write the following review of our experience with JPS Builders. I initially contacted Jon Schupbach the owner back in 2019 for a quote to rebuild our deck. I had four other bids from local contractors and JPS Builders was not the cheapest or the most expensive but I decided I wanted to work with him after researching his work. The examples of the workmanship his team accomplished was very high end quality and that is what I wanted.Unfortunately the pandemic put everything on hold until this year and we were able to move forward and get our deck replaced. We decided on TREX decking with black hog wire railing framed in cedar with a cocktail ledge. It turned out beautifully!During construction his team was terrific to work with. They were courteous, respectful and true craftsmen and it shows. JPS Builders now have us as lifetime customers. Thank you Jon and crew you guys are the best!

    Our experience with JPS Builders could not have been better from the start. When asked for an estimate to replace our aged deck areas, Nick was on time, professional, amiable, and meticulous. Our follow up visit with Jon and Nick provided the same experience - in addition to carefully answering all of our questions. A detailed quote was provided in good time. The quote contained all pertinent information as well as options we had asked about. We were told up front the expected time schedule - i.e. it would be a few months before our job was at the top of the list. In the intervening time, Jon was fantastic at communicating and answering all of our questions that popped up.The job was started when promised. The team of Nick, Dustin, Sergio and Adrian was just phenomenal. Working through snow, sleet, fog, icy rain and only a little sunshine - the crew was on site daily, doing even more than expected (i.e. they had to shovel snow from the deck to even begin work). Each crew member was professional, careful, friendly and open to questions. They were a true joy to have around. Our finished deck areas are more beautiful than we had even imagined.Throughout our project, Jon stopped in periodically to view progress.     We LOVED working with JPS. They were honest and transparent with their pricing, the quality was top notch and the crew was professional, polite and great to be around. We have three mini Aussies (one with special needs) and they were so great with our dogs, even when the dogs were all up in their business.     I hired JPS Builders & crew to replace the decking and staircase of my 700 square foot deck. Jon readily worked with me to find the best timeframe for the work to be started (a 6-day job).The crew arrived exactly on time each of those days, and put in LONG hours. Their work consisted of stripping off all the deck, plus an old under-deck soffit, plus extensive work carefully truing-out numerous joists that had sagged (which had made for a badly wavy surface). They also eliminated the considerable sag of the old staircase stringers & treads.The new picture-framed deck boards & new stair steps are now beautifully done with TREX, having an extremely fine fit at all the joints and finished edges. Deck & stair surfaces are nicely flat and smooth now (I know from experience that all of this installation quality takes a lot of extra time & thoughtful skills to get these great results. Not to mention how HOT it must have been working on my west-facing deck. On the final day, they thoroughly cleaned up and before they left for next job, we did a careful walk-around inspection.. I am very satisfied. A big thank you to the entire JPS crew!

    I recently moved to Lynden WA. I was looking for a contractor to do an extensive renovation on our house before moving. Since I was going to be doing this remotely, I needed to find a contractor who excelled not just in workmanship but communication.I found Jon at JPS through an Internet search. I checked his references and they were all extremely positive. One of his recent jobs was for someone who was living out of state and they were not only satisfied with the work but also his frequent communication.Jon completely remodeled our kitchen, master bedroom and bath. This work involved removal of some walls and relocation of not just doors but plumbing and electrical lines. Jon and his assistant Jackson thoroughly reviewed our plans and we felt confident that they would get the job done correctly.During the renovation, I received a weekly update from Jon as to the progress. In addition, if something came up during the day, he was on the phone with me so that I could make a quick decision without delaying the progress of the work. Jon coordinated all of the subcontractors schedules and also provided extensive documentation as to material and labor costs every 2 weeks until the project was completed.I would highly recommend Jon for any remodel work that you require.

Our family worked with Jon for more than two years with the construction of a new Craftsman residence and an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).     JPS Builders has done ~4 projects for us over the years, most recently our beautiful pergola and hog wire fence on top of a retaining wall. Weve only ever been happy with the outcome and keep going back for more projects because the work and communication is on point. His communication is 10 out of 5 and has set the bar so high for contractors it has ruined us for expectations of others (kinda joking but also kinda not).     I contacted JPS builders after seeing the fantastic work they did at my neighbors house where they constructed a large, covered pergola, and a beautiful, framed hog-wire fence. At our house they rebuilt an aging 20-year-old wooden deck from the joists up. We chose trex material for the deck surface, and a sleek railing system of black metal rods in a cedar framework. I knew the new deck would look sharp, but I had no idea that it would look like it belonged in a magazine. It has been great working with the Owner, John, and the construction crew of Sergio, Aaron, and Adrian . I really appreciated their efforts!

    Doing a major remodel on a 100-year old house is a major undertaking and choosing Jon as our general contractor was probably the best choice we could have made. He was great to work with and coordinated and oversaw the work of a talented team of subcontractors to do the demolition, plumbing, electrical, gas, insulation, drywall, and installation of new door, windows, cabinets, counters, floors, and appliances, and they all cleaned up after themselves and were all very pleasant to work with, particularly his main man Jackson.     I contracted with Jon to replace one wall of siding and repair anything else that neede it prior to having the whole house painted. At the last minute, I also decided to take down most of an interior wall, and he agreed to do that also. There were a few other tradespeople involved, doing electrical, sheetrock, and finish work inside.I cant say enough about his willingness to collaborate, share design ideas, and execute on the final plan. He and Jackson did a stellar and efficient job on the siding and at the same time got the wall down and ready for everyone else. They cleaned up beautifully. I highly recommend these guys for projects big and small!

    We selected JPS Builders to install our Trex decking because of the great reviews and the fact they were certified Trex installers. They were able to start our project quickly and communication was good throughout the process. A couple of additional repairs came up and the added cost was very reasonable. They had great attention to detail and did a great job of cleanup. This was removal of an existing deck and install of new Trex decking with existing rails. We are very happy with the results!

I had a relatively small deck project and they gave me an estimated time frame of August (about two months after estimate).
