    Summers and Zim is top notch in customer service! From the first conversation with Ethan to us scheduling some work to be done, the communication was great! Josh came out to look at a few items that we need fixed and was very thorough. He gave good advice and did not push us to do anything more than what we needed. At the same time he gave us some suggestions that we didnā€™t think of.

    We were having power challenges at our home. The electric would go off in multiple parts of the house, and multiple circuits would be affected at the same time; yet, no breakers were tripped. Kyle Dombach came out to evaluate the situation, and he was THOROUGH. He examined every possible scenario, and thankfully, an outage occurred while he was on location, and he was able to quickly remedy the situation by replacing the main breaker. Kyle was professional, concise, and honest. He alerted me to other electrical issues that should be addressed in the near future, AND he even alerted me to a problem with our oil furnace. There was no pressure, just a matter-of-fact evaluation, and I appreciated that. He is a fantastic ambassador for S&Z, and I would trust him to complete electrical work for me anytime.

    I have a plumbing contract with S&Z and called to arrange for my interior house water shut off valve replaced as it no longer worked. Worker arrived as scheduled and quickly did the replacement. I scheduled a plumbing review at the same time and they replaced a fixture on the water heater which then kept leaking. Water heater is 21 years old, so past its prime. They provided some options to replace and we went ahead with a new water heater despite the significant cost. All in all they did great work and were very friendly. Only point of dissatisfaction is a return vent for my HVAC that they had to remove to install the water heater was not put back correctly and will now need someone to fix. Update: S&Z contacted me after this review and came right back the next morning to fix the return vent. Amazing customer service! Could not recommend a better plumber!

    Emergency electrician call at 10pm, Louise was phenomenal. Explained everything, offered options and even though it was late had a great attitude and demeanor. He truly loves his job. Everything wasnā€™t completed but he was able to get me up and running until more assessments could be completed the next day. So helpful and kind, he is a true asset to your team! Now Iā€™m just waiting on the plumber to finish the assessments! So far everything has been great!

    Unforeseen issue forced me to shut down my heating on a cold evening (last night). At 7:30 am (house temp of 54 degrees - a bit chilly) I called and explained all to one of the teamā€™s employees that I had a crazy schedule but was hoping they could come out anytime today, but no later than 1 pm as I had meetings that could not be cancelled.They got me on the schedule, told me they would text with a better ETA after they get through the first customer appointments but they will be able to be there by 1 pm at which time my wife would be back home.Got text that they were 30 mins out. Steve arrived in 25 mins (11:45 am).When Steve arrived, donned his clean shoe covers, accessed the situation, he quickly obtained the part, installed same, cleaned all areas and was efficient and professional.Very happy with todayā€™s service and the knowledge that all was complete and resolved when I arrived home.Home to a clean, cozy home. Thanks Steve!

    Summers & Zimā€™s definitely exceeded my expectations! Technician Darren arrived on time, dressed in his company uniform and introduced himself. Darren was very knowledgeable, attentive and professional with every question I asked and completed the service needed efficiently. Darren even took the time to change a light bulb in the hallway ceiling!I am confident that should I have any heating, a/c or plumbing problems going forward, that Darren and Summers & Zims will be there for me.     While our heater didnt come out well in its evaluation, Jose was great. No one wants to hear their heater is bad. Jose was very thorough and took a good deal of time to show and explain to us what was wrong plus the risks that the problem presented. He also got us set up to have someone come out to spec out a new system for us.

    We had an amazing experience with Summers & Zims after moving into our new home and discovering our AC had gone bad. On top of that, we found out our furnace was on its last legs. From the very first meeting, they were incredibly helpful. They understood our situation and even offered to lend us window units to keep us comfortable until they could replace everything.The entire process, from diagnosing the issues to dealing with financing and scheduling, was seamless. Their customer service team was responsive and friendly, and the technicians were professional and efficient during the installation.     Very impressed. They were quick and responsive, able to come out the same day. They even arrived early. The communication was clear, easy, and accurate. The service was affordable (had them replace a bad breaker). Flip, our electrician, offered to do a free electrical inspection and found a few small items but did not do a hard sales push to address them. Will definitely use them again!

    The service here is incredible! This heatwave has been brutal and our AC conked out. Steven came over within 24 hours on a Sunday and fixed the unit, did some tests, and stayed with us to ensure it would continue cooling. He even brought in a bag of groceries for us! You just donā€™t see this incredible level of service anymore, but you will get treated like you matter from you calling in to the second they leave. Highly, highly recommend!

    Naturally the air conditioner died during the 90+ heatwave. Called Summers & Zims and set up a visit with Tyler (the tech).     S&Z has serviced our home(s) for nearly 40 years. They are consistently respectful of scheduling, often calling to check whether they can arrive sooner than expected. They tour the home to locate thermostats, controls, and basic device. Clean vents, filters, check air pressures and coolant levels. They recently installed a safety device in case of bad weather or flooding of the unit. Focused deliberately on completing the requisites and recommend whatever anticipated changes may be required. We have had units replaced and maintenance helps consistency of operation. We only had one instance needing immediate attention and response was quick. Explanation of what happened was a minor incident and they claimed they were at fault but it was minor. Professionalism is paramount with S&Z. We have gotten to know many employees over time and this extra touch of personal relations has helped in confidence and comfort in continuing S&Z as our preferred and highly recommended service. In addition, they have expanded to include a full analysis of the homes need for ac, electric and plumbing.

    Very good service and the two fellas who came to upgrade my water system were professional, any questions I asked were explained without hesitation. Piping was all level straight and with no shortcuts. House and yard were picked up of any debris from the well to the basement and kitchen sink. I had a sizable water leak on my birthday, requiring a restoration crew to come in and set up fans and dehumidifiers on 2 floors of my house. Tag was sent out to repair the leak.     After using S & Z for many years we would never use anyone else.Frequently we refer them to family & friends and everyone is shocked at how different they are from other companies. It is rare to find a company that is reliable, honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy and clean up after themselves!They show up on time and communicate with us to let us know if they are available at an earlier time. Not once in all the years we have used S & Z have they ever not shown up (we have a contract and they have come on weekends and nights!) This company is very unusual and it shows in everything they do.We learned the hard way that S & Z may not be the very lowest bid but they will do the best job and we saved time and money by using them.Ps. We are not related to S & Z and were not paid to say any of this. They really are just that great!

    We have worked with your company for several years and have nothing but great things to say. But, to show just how amazing they are, last week while they were installing our HVAC unit, we unexpectedly had a flood in our basement. While they guys were waiting on an electrician, they offered to help me clean up! They brought their shopvacs down and got to work!     I experienced a sump pump problem last week during one of the storms. I called Summers and Zims thinking my backup sump pump had went bad. They sent out a technician named Seth. He was fantastic! These people are very honest. I was certain that I would need a new backup costing big bucks but Seth diagnosed my problem to be my water regulator. He replaced it and solved all my problems. They offer a yearly maintenance contract to inspect all your plumbing, including sump pumps, hot water heater. I signed up for it! Im sorry I didnt do it years ago. With the contract you get a discount on all your plumbing work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SUMMERS AND ZIMS!

    The team came out on consecutive days to clear a main drain line clog and replace a well tank. The workers were on time, courteous, efficient, pleasant, polite, and showed respect for my property. They explained all of my options and told me what they planned on doing to resolve the issues.     I had both a maintenance visit and a customer supplied thermostat installed. Did a good job and Steve was knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Although the job was done well, I was disappointed in the price of the thermostat installation. The price quoted just to install a thermostat including the visit was $229. The price of a maintenance call including visit was $209. I discussed the price of the thermostat ahead of time and pointed out that since the tech was already here for the maintenance was it still the same price. I was told that since he was already there, I would pay for the actual time of installation. Very reasonable. I am perfectly willing to pay for services rendered and am not trying to get away with anything. The time it took for the thermostat installation was about 1 hour including installation, wiring, including some difficulties in set up and operation check. The cost for the maintenance was $209 and it took over an hour for that part of the service. So, I paid more for the installation of a thermostat than I paid for the more complex and time consuming maintenance. Perhaps next time it would be better that I ask the hourly rate so I can verify that the cost is accurate.
