    I am very happy with how my deck looks, better than what I was expecting. Miguel took his time to help me decide exactly what color combination I wanted. Everyone who worked on the deck was extremely nice. Though the deck took longer to finish than what I was initially told, I am still very happy with the final result. If you want a job well done and from trust worthy people, this is who I recommend.

    Miguel is very knowledgeable about decking materials, builds, accessories and even permit nuances for different counties. He was able to navigate our HOA process and get all the permits needed so we didnt have to.His crew worked through the rain to get the deck ready for the various inspections and completed the deck sooner than we expected. They even came back afterwards to shore up some minor details that we felt were not to our liking.Overall, good experience and nice people to work with.

    Were absolutely thrilled with our new deck and patio! From beginning to end, Miguel was incredibly responsive, patiently answering all of our questions and offering valuable insights to help us make informed decisions about our project. Miguels professionalism and friendliness made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free, and his companys craftmanship and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of our deck and patio. In addition, our project was completed in a timely manner without sacrificing quality, and they even managed to finish ahead of schedule, allowing us to enjoy our new outdoor space sooner than we expected. Overall, we couldnt be happier with our experience with Fortress Construction.Weve included before and after photos to demonstrate what a difference the patio and deck have made for us. Our existing deck was over 25 years old and too big for the space. Animals and our dogs were constantly going under our sunroom and deck, and the area under the deck was a breeding ground for mosquitos. We had stopped going into the backyard with our dogs because it had become so unpleasant. I cant even begin to express how glad we are to have our backyard back! The dogs are thrilled too.     Fortress Construction LLC (Miguel and crew) built a screened in porch for us over the winter of 2023-2024. Our project was large and involved demolition of an existing two-level deck, and building a new deck/screened in porch. The porch had two rooms, one with a vaulted ceiling and one with a shed roof. The deck is uncovered and runs the rest of the width of our home.We are very pleased with the results. The build took a few months due to the scope of the work and because it was winter with short, very cold days. The day-to-day crew was very knowledgeable, efficient, and the result of their work is a porch built with very high quality.I would definitely recommend Miguel and Fortress Construction LLC for your project.

    Fortress Construction recently completed a screened-in deck at our house and our only regret is that we didn’t have them build it years ago. Miguel was able to take the vision in our heads and present us with the options to make it happen. He would bring samples by or send pictures or renderings to show the different products, colors, etc that would help us decide. He even helped us navigate the Special Permit process in Fairfax County to be able to get the deck size we wanted while other contractors told us it wasn’t possible. The team worked hard into the evening and on weekends to move the project along quickly while still maintaining exceptional quality in their work. When asked by friends and neighbors, we have recommended Fortress Construction without hesitation.

    I found some who understood what I wanted and was able to deliver. Very experienced, knowledgeable, quality material with an excellent price. They did my screen porch with an attached deck. I love it, my neighbors love it and all my guest love it. Good communication through the project and upfront explanation of when each payment will be due. It really exceeded my expectation. I really don’t have enough words but I am so glad I went forward with this project and chose Fortress. A+

    My daughter lives in Broadland, VA. In May when we went to visit her from Canada, we noticed the wood in her deck was darkened, rotten & had a big hole in the center due to heavy rain & extreme sun exposure.We helped her to find a few decks builders & get quotes. Finally, we decided to go with Miguel Nogales, Fortress Builders. We replaced the wood deck to a composite product. Miguel’s team came and in no time, teared down the deck & rebuilt it with the beautiful composite deck. For our budget, we used existing wood posts & beams structure and will try to stain later.We are very pleased with Fortress Builders work. The quoting process & price is very reasonable, Miguel who oversees the team, was very courteous and professional.     This entire project was superior to anything I have ever seen. The cost estimate, drawings, county regulation requirements, quality of construction, communication, and respect of my property and family were incredible. Another contractor quoted a price that was over double what Fortress Construction estimated (and Fortress did not have ANY cost overruns!!!).We are so happy with the beautiful, quality covered porch and highly recommend Fortress Construction!!!     We recently bought a house and had a few questions about our existing deck and if it could support a new hot tub. Miguel, the co-owner, came out to take a look. Ive met a lot of contractors over the years for various projects and many times they give you a hard sell without saying much. Miguel was very different. He was full of valuable information, knew the building code, and could answer all my questions. I dont know if well be getting the work done, but I appreciate the time he gave me just to talk it through, so Im posting a 5 star review.

    I was looking to replace our original deck. Fortress responded to a free estimate inquiry within a day, scheduled a visit and sent me a quote very quickly.     Our 20+ year old deck needed to be replaced, I was referred to Fortress through a neighbor after they got theirs built.I called them and got an estimate plus a 3D rendering. The rendering was the coolest part. It was easy to see what we would get. I hired them to build us a porch and we couldnt be happier and would highly recommend them. Next year we want to put in a pergola so will definitely use Fortress again.

    Fortress Construction LLC is by far the most knowledgable and professional deck building company in Northern Virginia. Miguel the owner personally gives you the qoute and are in direct contact with him the whole time. He handles all permitting, inspecting, architectual drawings and more. I had a old deck removed and they built a new deck/screened in porch. The builders Wilder and Nelson are amazing craftsmen and the deck they built passed all expectations I had. I will be recommending Fortress construction and their builders to everyone I know.

    I would highly recommend them. I was amazed at how much care Miguel’s crew took with our project. From the tear down, and the delicate care they took around our old, majestic tree, to the craftsmanship of the deck. Each day, the crew worked above and beyond, to build an oasis that will last forever. Every day I can spend out there is a peaceful, mindful, energy-lifting experience.     I would recommend Fortress Construction to anyone seeking a reliable and professional contractor who does quality work. Getting the approval from Fairfax County took very long but Miguel stuck it out with us and pursued every avenue to get a response from the County. Without his persistence we could never have got the job done. Once the work started, his team showed up regularly and completed the job in a timely way. The best part was that I was able to stay in touch with Miguel via text and email and he responded promptly to answer any questions I had. If I had another job to get done, I would definitely go back to Fortress Construction.

    These guys more deserve more than 5 stars. From the beginning they delivered what they had promised and then some. Wish all contractors were like this. We loved their deck design and quality of work. Highly highly recommend!
